Just logic. They are doing fine imo. They only did public release due to a bond when they developed dust. Now that they "bought it back" (20mil) they don't need to report it any longer. It's a private indy game company, and we're not investors.
1. Multi-boxing is way down, started with character multi-training (you can see the slide start there). Now with SOV changes, I hear some having less need for alts. Same players still here, just less accounts active, consolidating usable alts into active accounts.
2. PLEX up, some people want a free ride by farming, now closing those extra accounts or going off to their other f2p games all together. Their loss. Yes CCP still sells PLEX and multi character training as well as many skins now etc. I don't see them losing money. I know my spending has been up a little.
3. Now if you start to see them do lay-offs, then maybe worry, but not much. They have been streamlining development in a good way, so even if they let go 30% of staff, they would still likely meet their goals. But I'm not anticipating lay-offs at this point, in fact I would say it'd be highly doubtful.
I'm just not a chicken little type of guy. I've been playing these games for 20 years, even having done some work on them in the indie market, and also MUDs before that. I see CCP in a good position, as long as they don't take any drastic chances which would be entirely unwarranted at this point. If there were only 5k PCU, I'd still play, I remember when it was lower. But then that is all mostly Europe time, so I really don't care how many Europeans log into EVE quite honestly. And even that, it'll likely go up again as it does every year around this time, though maybe less if it's so that SOV changes are getting some players to cut alts, or consolidate them anyway which still can bring in money if they multi-train them.

Well all we need to worry about is #3. If that starts happening, well it happens, doesn't mean EVE is going away. By paying back the bond, they put themselves in a healthy position, even to endure another Icelandic bank problem, or modest global problem for that matter; I doubt they would fold easily. I worry more about crazy ideas, stupid things to try to be more "relevant".

I don't think UO stagnated, it fell on it's samurai sword. Also luck suits and BODs were left at it's tombstone. I was there from about launch, and I didn't need another game like EQ1 which it more or less became. That's that crazy idea stuff like I mentioned.

I'm kinda chuffed at the high plex prices personally, being someone who finances their eve from selling plex.
It'll certainly encourage me to spend more $ to take advantage of the high, or it would normally, I'm probably too busy spending my play monies on art at the moment. Actually hoping to save a little ISK ingame right now since I'm spending so much money out of it, I haven't bothered replacing any ships I've lost this past couple weeks (certainly no intention of laying out another $100 in plex for another dread just yet lmfao) and have unsubbed one or two accounts that I barely use. Shut down one of my alt corp's POS towers earlier in the week too and will probably close the second one down within the next few days too. There's a sub or two's worth of fuel I won't need to worry about.
I can totally empathise with the folks who earn their gametime though and purchase their plex with ISK. For your sakes I hope the plex drops to a reasonable price soon (though not too soon!) 
In other news this was sweet.
And this was a fun fight.
Also I hear the next Magic Gate is Drake fleet again.  Sadly I think work will prevent me from attending this one tho.
My back's feeling a little better tonight too. Really tired though, been feeling unusually tired this past week. Not sure if I'm coming down with something or if it's just RL catching up with me after swapping day/night shifts so much recently.

Yep, played the fist 6 years on the live servers. If you count... er non live servers  I've never really stopped since what, 1999? I did about the same with UO, but I stopped a few years ago on the non live server I'm playing EQ1 a little less now, but still a little active.
