Can someone tell me the logic in taking a high point off the rook and replacing with a low one.
Will this be with the new ships made after the patch, or will I wake up to find my main ship I use every dang day nerfed.

Wrong. Bonuses are the same.
Extra high was rather useless due to grid requirements for missiles. Could barely fit a nos. Instead, we now get an extra low, meaning more ecm strength.

Are you somehow stupid? The simple fact that the rook can now fit a 1600 plate and 2 SDA or 3 SDA is much more worth then the dps you get out of a HML oder an AML, lol @damage ew ships. Not to mention the general buff of the ECM as a whole.

You use your rook for what you want to and I use mine for what I want to.
I happen to like 5 missles and a cloak or salvager.
and NO I dont use plates, so that low slot is butt useless

A third SDA gives you 11.7% more jam strength while a plate grants you with a decent amount of survivability..what's your problem? Sig removed for the third time, inappropriate content. Sig Locked. If you would like further details please mail [email protected] - Cortes |

Fly a falcon when you want to fit a cloak. OFC CCP can be blaimed for the simple fact that some ppl fly random weird setups. So its ofc hard for their gms to find a balance that suits weird setups and thing ships are not introduced for.
Maybe you can now fit a wcs in your new achieved low slot, makes as much sense as the cloak.

5 missles and a salvager is a wierd set up?
The falcon doesnt pack the missle punch, and I dont use guns. I do have one for getting where I need to go, and popping a field.

we are talking at pvp at this point?
Based on the fact that a rook is still effectiv at a 160km I see no point at fitting a "punch" some AML for killing drones maybe, but hanging around in t1 ammo range with a none plated rook doest seem that uber smart, cause a tempest will end you with one volley.

Lol. You're flying an ECM ship, with a cloak, and using missiles on it? You do realise a caracal would do a better job right?

last time i checked the cerb is a cruiser, not to mention that is a free high slot for your salvager, caracal is also a cruiser, with cruiser 5 you probally get more "punch".
In general I thing its no nerf at all as most of the rooks are actually used in pvp, the way ccp introduced it for.

.......Rofl Mate....A caracal with an eccm low slot mod will be more use. Caracal has 1 more low (After trinity) than the rook, does more damage, and has a high slot for a cloak/salvager.
Or you could keep carebearing in a pvp ship :)
Now excuse me whilst i go on a roaming gang in my skiff.

A cerberus has better damage, better tank and is in all ways better for npc'ing than a rook.

Can I ask what your using the Rook for? I mean if it's PVE then wouldn't you be better off using a HAC? Last time I checked Recon's were best in gangs because of the low dps no? |

WTF is wrong with all these idiots on eve forums, Nightmare gets a huge buff, people whine and want the old half-assed split weapon system abominaion back, now the rook finally get some sort of buff, and voila, whines incoming! hey how about we give the rook 8 high's, and just eat away the mids and lows, that will help miss im'a alt here feel good in eve land!
i will bet that if they give the apoc some cool role, and make it a great ship, people will whine aboyut it, and demand the old ship back, as it was "better" before.
It's great being Amarr isn't it.
Support the introduction of Blaze M crystals for Amarr!

the ecm boats aren't that bad for pve tbh, i take a bb over a caracal anytime, whether its for missions or ratting.

if you are just doing PVE, you should know that rats ECM jamming is purely chance based, and your sensor strength has no bearing...
meaning you will get jammed in your rook AS OFTEN (on average) as your would in a caracal, or more importantly, a cerb.
upgrade to a cerb, you will be much happier with its improved performance.

The high moved to low is so the Rook and Falcon can achieve the same max jam strength.
The Falcon already had 3 lows, since its now getting 20% per level bonus (same as Rook) it would have been a better jammer as it could have a 3rd ECM Amp
So the Rook needed the 3rd low to keep the ships ECM strengths the same.
