Edited by: NocturnalDeath on 07/12/2007 21:24:21 In past "upgrades", taking the server down as needed for patching was a regular occurance.
The game is completely unplayable at the moment for those of us with POSes, Dreads, Jump Bridges, and a whole list of other things.
If GM's aren't going to answer a stuck petition by moving a player to the destination jump bridge, then PLEASE take down the server to fix it.
Thank You.
PS. While waiting on Eve to be fixed the last couple days, and searching for other games to play, I noticed CCP bought zillions of ads on gaming websites. All this bad press has to have counteracted that money spent to a great degree. Please stop spending money on advertising and fix the game. kk thx.
Whiner: "OMG CCP will lose 90% of playerbase with this nerf!" Me: "Thank God, less lag for me then!" Whiner: "But prices of ships will double!" Me: "Sweet, ships are too cheap anyways!" |

Never have i been so frustrated before, things just do not work. and im afraid its the weekend and the devs are going to be out of work. Please fix the game, even if that requires a rollback, or a new patch or even severe downtime.

That's a shame but it's absolutely fine for the other 80% of players. Can't you lot take a break and play nice until the problem is solved? -- (Battle hardened industrialist)

Works like a charm with minor bugs for me. You can't drop the servers just because a few have problems.
Very funny sig btw.

Andrue,
The problem is, that for many 0-sec Alliances, thier entire GAME is hosed. Since most of them depend on POSes, jumpbridges, and the like for thier daily play. Not to mention the fact that many Alliances are losing POSes to pirates because POS guns have stopped shooting at enemies, so a pirate group can warp in a small fleet of BSes and toast a POS in an afternoon without taking any damage at all, then loot the POS and fly away laughing. it's a huge huge problem.
With the amount of bugs and other things just not done right, I'm thinking that CCP should just do a Patch rollback to Monday (Dec 01) and go back to the drawing board with Trinity. Yes, it will be a PR nightmare, but frankly, it really can't get any worse at this point.

You assume they will be fixing our destroyed POS, we havnt been told yet.
So us low sec people may only represent 20% of the population, but with out us you have less high end minerals, no t2 items, no capital ships, no boosters. Uhh basicly you have nothing cool.
If tons of POS continue to die, expect the eve market to be a scary place for a while.

Lets give CCP the benifit of the doubt, especially with the boot.ini issue taking up a lot of their time.
Till then, its time to fly the good old fashioned way..... thorugh these things call gates.

No problems here. Besides all you would get is half the population yelling "OMG I PAY FOR THIS GAME AND ITS NOT EVEN WORKING CCP FIX YOUR GAME OR I'LL QUIT COS I'M A TWELVE YEAR OLD WITH NOTHING BETTER TO WHINE ABOUT". And then we'll lose 90% of the playerbase and ship prices will double, no thanks.

CCP is aware of the issue with certain game features and are working on resolving them. A patch will be deployed (to the server, client or both) when the issues have been resolved. In the interim, we do not think it prudent to take the entire server down due to issues which are affecting a smaller portion of the community.

"Works like a charm with minor bugs for me. You can't drop the servers just because a few have problems."
Uhmm, it isn't a few problems. It is many game shattering issues that are now being abused in low-sec as well. POSes mods and operations are being destroyed by those who are quickly learning about these "bugs".
It will literally take months of GM time to follow up on all the petitions that will be legitimately filed this weekend when the bug abuse goes into high gear.
I am not the overly dramatic type but this is really, really bad for the game right now.

Thats cool, my pos hasnt been found yet, but my friends/contacts i know have personally lost 20+ pos already, and we all know things wont be reimbursed, espicially things that are looted. Well we are talking about capital manufacturing POS here. One carrier BPO has been looted. What else must happen?

CCP, I demand you take TQ offline until you can fix this bug: "Work"
For at least ten hours a day, five days a week, EVE is completely inaccessible to me. During this time, my resources are in constant danger of attack and I have no way of defending myself! Talk about PWNED!
Further, I can't even log in to change my skills or update my market orders! What if my training finishes while I'm "Working" -- I lose all those SP and I demand to be reimbursed!
It was bad enough that we had to deal with the "Sleep" nerf, but at least they implemented an hour of DT for us to rest. This "Work" bug ... it's big, it's bad, and it's apparently not going away any time soon.

But our game has been ruined. Just because you dont run POS, and dont live in 0.0, and dont rely on these type of things. Does not mean we have any less fun using them, and since what has taken many people years to build, or at very least days have been destroyed in minutes. Yes, Its a HUGE problem.
With this happening dont whine when your T2 prices go through the roof, afterall they are made from POS materials fool.

Eve is working fine for me and I play on a crappy old laptop. Anyone taking down POS's at this time as a result of a bug making it possible should be perma-banned for taking advantage of an known exploit.

no i dont have a POS or live in 0.0, but neither do i spend my entire life on this game like some players out there, i play to have fun and to relax after a long days work, i dont use too much t2 stuff, mostly blasters and railguns but thats about it. and if you think it has been ruined then quit playin and you wont have a reason to ***** about it anymore

These bugs have the potential to make it so you wont be enjoying those t2 items anymore, because the prices will skyrocket if pos's which do reactions continue to be taken out in empire and 0.0. I know a couple other alliances who have 10B+ already in pos's.

so you think its okay because of the ******* ******** difficulties you made for an alliance to defend its territory by breaking jump bridges?

What people seem to be missing is that everyone is effected equally. So grow a set, adapt, and fight back.
Or, cry on the forums and demand a server take down. That doesn't seem like an over-reaction.

See, I would consider it to be an "in game" problem. For some strange reason a phenomenon has caused all the outer planets stations to malfunction, some people believe it's due to an interstellar electronic fog, others claim it's an intergalactic anti-neutrino radiation field. No-one truly knows but it's so far causing malfunctions in all large structures. Anything with a mass large enough to receive enough radiation or interference is effected meaning most ships are OK. Stations on the other hand are falling prone to attack. Luckily for empire space, the radiation/interference cannot penetrate the outer rings of the galaxy.
There.... an in game reason, now stop complaining.

then i will go back to using t1 versions it doesnt make any difference to me. CCP just needs to get this stupid boot.ini thing taken care of and then they will start lookin at the bugs, i do agree however that trinity came a tad too early and that they should have tested it a bit more BEFORE releasing it live. And from talking to some of the guys in my corp, dont the POS's always have problems after a major patch like this??
