Funny all I got when I posted about this happening to me was flames and more flames. I told you all that once this started happening more you would all change your tune. Just be glad you haven't lost your ship to these actions yet.
Alts are usefull but people are using them in a way they were not intended. I killed dozens of alts during the occupation of fountain. It got so bad there for a while there were corpses of alts all around every gate. The most I saw was about 50 at one time at a gate. I picked up about 60 or so in one day. I stopped because they are just useless hangar filling junk. Most people stopped firing at them because you would have to deal with weapons not able to fire right away and one less target ability when the main force came to attack. |

When you click on a character in forums, or get info in game, you should see the primary, secondary, and tertiary character on that account. If people want to hide behind alts so bad, let them pay for a completely separate account.
This would help some, be easy to do, and it's not as though the release of this information is unprecedented by the GMs. It has been given to the victims in previous cases of corp theft.
I don't personally object to alts, I'm posting as one now. Better to have your ideas considered (note - not flames) than be kneejerk reacted to due to your corporation.

The original poster proposed this "Force alt characters to be in the corporation of the character with the most skill-points"
Which is a rather pointless idea ... effectively saying that there should only be one character per account, and catering to one particular playstyle.
Likewise, one poster replied to my comment that I don't HAVE a MAIN and ALTS "That will change when you have a lot of skill points." Again, this person is supposing that everybody MUST use his/her playstyle only, anything else is inconceivable. Also a ridiculous assumption. I've been playing since shortly after the game went live, the fact that I choose not to train one character to uber status and actually use all three character slots is not an invalid choice of playstyles.
There are plenty of players who aren't power gamers and who don't min/max to the Nth degree.

I pay for three characters, for an account with one character I would be willing to pay EXACTLY a third of what I¦m paying now. The way I use those three characters in is nobodys concern, as long as I abide by the rules of the game.
Most of the issues in this post should be taken care of by the GMs, as they (imo) pretty clearly fall under the harassment / exploit paragraphs.
as for people who have moneymaking alts, let them. if that¦s the way they want to play. not everyone wants EvE to be full of risk and PvP, some just enjoy the quiet accumulation of wealth.

One fix would be to have an extra tab to see what the other 2 characters are. Some people will have a problem with this and some people will argue that you wouldn't be able to see characters from a 2nd or 3rd account. But i think its a fact that someone wouldn't use a 2nd account character the same way as some people are using an alt character of one account (once you have a second account, you take care of the main char the same as you would the main char of the first account).

what about the block feature? IMO it should block the emails and chat/gang invites from those individuals, not sure as i hardly used that feature.

i think an easier way would be to show the account name, with each char, and well you could maybe search by account name, and then it would bring up all the other chars, thats how other games have it, were its regardless of the char you go mostly by the account name, and thus even if ppl delete later alts you still know the persons account name, so ppl are less likely to act like morons and some 10 year olds.
Over all i think something like that would improve the eve community as people would not act like they do behind alts. Oh and it would be such a big plus to Corp's as they wouldnĘt have to go hunt and try to track the ppl that they might want to recruit.
If you want to act or partake in some actions that you dont want others to know thats just too bad, when you do something to someone it is public knowledge then, and act like a "man" so to speak about your actions and who you are.
And I do agree if you really want to hide then you can always have more then one account as a lot of ppl already do, plus you could always buy one nowadays

Yes, as a person that wants no alts I can agree with the comprimise that alts should be seen. If one looked at info of a char one should see their alts if they have one.

It takes relatively little time to train up an alt on you one account to fly a decent frigate or hauler, albeit without any advanced skills.
I use my alts to explore parts of EVE where I am less inclined to go with a main character, due to the risk of losing implants etc.
Take away alts, the game becomes les playable, imho.
That said, Lump Hammer is the main char on my second account... an alt by another name I guess, and I can train him up well, too. Taking away alts will not prevent people having more than one in-game character.

Here is a possible solution to the alt issue. Put a timed lock-out on a switch between characters on the same account. Say 12 hours for arguments sake.
Not a perfect solution but at least there is a cost of sorts, attached to using/switching between alts.
e.g "We need someone to look on the other side of the gate"
"I ain't doing it..I heard there are 12 BS on the other side. I ain't risking it"
"Use an alt"
"Yeah but then i won't be able to join in the fight with you folks coz my main will be locked out"
Very simple example but it should illustrate my point.
It doesn't stop folks doing the stuff you're talking about Joshua but it should make them think twice about doing it

The other pictures are of a character called ups ups who uses the strange game physics to "stick" her Industrial-class ship to our battleships - this makes it harder to get warp alignment and also runs the risk of incurring splash damage (from a direct hit from our fired missiles rather than normal "splash) and the attention of CONCORD.
Both pilots have been petitioned, just like I said I was going to yesterday.

How would I like to see these issues resolved?
- Leaving a corporation takes 2 weeks regardless of whether you were kicked or left - during these 2 weeks you are still a war enemy and can be fired upon.
- Locking becomes an "aggressive" act and, while not attracting the attentions of CONCORD, anyone locking you can be shot without penalty from CONCORD. The ability to fire on someone who has locked you is "open" for however long the "locker" is in the same area as the "locked" - this would prevent frigates locking and unlocking Battleships to try and exploit that.
- Fix game physics so that battleships don't get stuck onto or pushed aside by much small ships

OMG such whinny lil runts, you get a few evemails and some damn chat/gang invites and you run to the forums to cry like a lil baby. My god if it's that bad talk to the GM's and stop showing your whinny lil ways to the people of Eve.
Alternate chrs are for alt reasons, take pvping for one, your a serious pvper and hated by lots of people, if they knew your alt(s) name they would completly harrass you as you were mining/manufacturing to support your pvping ways. And on buying another account, thats just lame, I shouldnt have to spend $20us and 15us on a second account just to mine for a few hours a week.
Im glad they harrass you..
