Most likely in the next version released but handling for the new API keys is not implemented yet (at least not on SVN yet).

I use EVEMon myself but I don't agree it should be recommended to all new players...To be useful to *all* players, you would need to have it cross-OS platform (which EVEMon is not).
One thing I would like EVEMon to do in the future since (the data received is all XML), is be web based instead of OS based. Not only will it allow more people to use it, even people with smart-phones will be able to use it without an application written specially for that smart-phone.

With the new forum, it is impossible for me to reach you in your post about how to "Get required skills for all ships" and I can't seem to find this post with the search function...
I realized after trying your db query, that the orca for example is not returned or that skills that are not ship related like electronics for example were not returned either...
I know you're not my personal army, but I was wondering if you could give me any clues about what I could look into to get the infos I need

I will reiterate what every one else says about this being a totally awesome program. Cannot even begin to imagine playing Eve without it.
Now on to my question.
Every time I open EveMon I get this annoying error message (I have substituted x's for the actual account number):
An error occurred while querying the character list for account xxxxxxx (no characters).
An error occurred while querying the character list for account xxxxxxx (no characters).
More notifications are available.
Check character monitor for more information.
Is there any way to turn that little message window off? Or at least turn off the supremely irritating popping sound that it makes every 2 seconds?

Yes. Look in Tools>Options>Notifications and disable the "API problem".
Btw, this issue will be resolved in next release. |

my main 3 gripes with eve mon atm are these:
1 the skill bar at the bottom
it interferes with every game i open if eve mon is not minimized and also affects some websites when "above" the eve mon window so to have evemon in the background is a pain in the ass coz the bar shows through and then "drags" on websites
is there a way to disable this bar from showing up?
2 the amount of time it takes eve mon to start
it takes approximately 30 seconds to a full minute to start eve mon even if opened before in a windows session (ie not restarting windows/pc)
i have 3 chars loaded and 2 accounts loaded all 3 chars have plans made (2 plans are over 2 years and 5 are 1 year or more long total plans i think i have 20)
it still took along time to load when first installed on my pc after a full reformat and reinstall of windows (windows xp home SP3 fully up to date / intel duel core / gegorce 240gt / 2 gig ram)
3 skill planner speed
after adding approximately 20-30 skills the planner window starts slows down considerably (adding 40 it REALLY slows down) and for some reason slows down my computer (comp details above) also adding remap points enhances this problem
(when i say skills i dont mean per different skill ie targeting then caldari frig i mean caldari frig 1-4 then another skill to 4 etc)
other than these 3 gripes i find eve mon INVALUABLE |

1. It's GDI+ issue, can't do anything about it. Some user reported that GC drivers updating fixed the issue.
2. On my machine EVEMon starts in no longer than 5 sec (5 accounts, 12 toons). Apparently your HDD is really slow.
3. Consider chopping your plan into smaller ones. Having all in one, is counter-productive as you figured.

See my post above.
- Close EVEMon (important).
- Go to the EVEMon homepage.
- On the right side you'll find a ZIP archive download called "Latest Snapshot". Today's snapshot can be found here.
- Download the ZIP archive and unpack its contents to your EVEMon installation folder overwriting the existing files.
- Then start EVEMon.
- If you did it right, you'll see a warning about old settings, asking you to backup the previous file.
- Do so, if you want to.
- You're ready to use - don't forget to update/add the new API keys (same way you did it before).
One important last note:
If you've enabled automatic updates, you'll download the stable/final release once it's available. The version mentioned above should be considered "in development", so there might be some bugs or some features might be broken. However I haven't noticed any issues so far, so you should be fine using it. (Usual license terms etc. still apply, e.g. you do it at your own risk, etc.)
In case you encounter any issues, feel free to send me an EVE Mail or write me in Twitter. If you encounter bugs, you should report them in the official bug tracker.

So I don't know if this thread deals with issues. I just updated my evenmon (It prompted me to update. After that I lost all of my API keys, and when I try to re-add them it says they are expired. My laptop copy (which I have ignored the update) is still working fine. |
