Well I am back again.
After watching the recent continuation of events in the ongoing struggle to "kill" BoB, I have been asking myself the same question again and again, quite simply:
Will Delve Fall?
With the ongoing battles for Querious (49-) Fountain (Y-2) and Period Basis (TPAR) being the most talked about news of this week, I would like to attempt to take a look a little into the future, to try and make an educated guess as to what is next for BoB.
Currently BoB is not fighting for its sovereign systems. It has managed as to this point to keep all of the fronts outside of "their" space (Delve).
They seem to have lost the last bastion in Querious (49-) but seem to be holding Smash and the Tortugans at bay effectively on the other 2 fronts, and as of yet no serious attempt has been made on any delve systems, sure a few gank squads here n there roaming from the Northeners and Tortugans, but nothing more.
Lets assume at some point, Y-2 and TPAR will fall from their control, it is a fairly safe bet to happen, as the RSF shift their focus to Delve, BoB will be forced to make decisions as to their priorities, as those priority moments begin to coincide, so I believe Delve will be the first choice for defense.
SO then what?
So then Delve is under siege. Which parties will be involved at that time, and do they have the strength to take it?
RSF? - 100% In fact they are the driving force. "They will never again own 0.0 space" are words that are driving every goon onwards, desperate to ram those words down BoBĘs throats, and the "Russians".. well they just love killing caps. Threat to BoB Level 10
Smash/Roadkill - Unsure... Taking HEAVY losses so far in their campaign against BoB. With huge numbers against and very little kills, if anything will drive them onwards it will be pride, they are left with something to prove thatĘs for sure. Threat to BoB Level 3
IAC - I suspect IAC are second only to the Goons in their "hatred" of BoB, they will be smug and warm over Fixes departure from 0.0 life and it would seem existence, and they certainly have a point to prove. Threat to BoB level 4
Tortugans - Well according to virtually all information coming out of their camp previously, it would seem that the Tortugans will not be involved in taking Delve. Period Basis is supposed to be the only focus of this group... I guess much would depend on whether they are angered/worried enough by BoBs defense of TPAR to decide whether they should get involved, my gut feeling is they wont, could change with a Titan loss or something I suppose. Threat to BoB level 1
Bruce/Mostly Harmless - A surprising entry into this race for space, but none the less they seem determined to prove a point after MCs ousting of them from Syndicate, look set to follow all the way into Delve. Threat to BoB level 5
Morsus Mihi - Got no love for BoB thatĘs for sure, and indeed these guys are a powerhouse, with multiple Titans/Moms and many dreads/carriers, their cap fleet is probably one of the top 4, but they are untested of late, and you got to feel they have a point to prove. Threat to BoB level 7
You'll notice the threat level indicators, I have not only included the skills/power of those entities, but also attempted to factor in the passion, it takes a big heart or a very large motivation to stick out a campaign that begins to wear on you like sandpaper on your ass cheek.
You look at those forces mounted against BoB, and you ask is there any chance whatsoever that BoB can come through this..

My considered answer is Yes, Yes they can hold onto Delve.
Cyno Jammers, Sov level 4 and 5 Titans is the key to BoB holding out, along with what seems at the moment to be an unshakable thirst for the game.
This war will come down to simply who wants it most, from all those attacking parties how many of them will still be at this if BoB manages to hold out using its Titans to prevent Cyno Jammer take downs and its hugely experienced Fleets to continue smashing ships and resources in the daily battles in and around Delve in one months time.
What about 2 months.
What if it takes 3? 4? 5?
Similarly Will BoB still be able to produce the numbers they are producing right now in 1 2 3 4 months time, will those players that have had their love of the game rekindled, still be there....
Only time will tell if BoBs grip on Delve can be broken, if BoBs Alamo will fall, but those that have made it their goal to do so, public ally announced it will happen, have a lot to prove.. a lot to lose... and you hope for their sakes, a lot to gain.

I have yet to see a BoB pilot in-game. I suspect many nice stuffs are being held in Delve protected by the myth of a formidable alliance. -

Probably just think of this delve has some of the best resource sources in the game, just look at n8 120 moons there's probably 3 or 4 complete reaction chains there, and that place will be a ***** to siege. It'll fall. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow but soon (tm) and for the rest of your life -- DEVS get multiple CPUs/Cores per system and all will be forgiven.

I can't see Goons becoming a "new bob"
I mean...they don't drive Ferarri's or date KickBoxing girlfriends for a start. That and they're riding off the back of the coalition in T1 frigates.

which of these 2 topics will survive ? :D
delve will prolly fall in a couple of months. will bob fall with it - no. killing bob would take much determination and effort and i dont think anyone from coalition will try that hard.
Bob numbers will fall thats for sure, all those wannabes who joined over years to be on winning side will go somewhere else, but the core will still be there, and those cant be killed untill they quit playing imho... and it will take lots of time to make them quit or bob to fall apart. and their numbers with supercapital/capital fleet and bobs wealth are enough to def for quite some time. unless those titans start falling down :P then it will be much harder for them to defend. Bob is stronger then ever, they still have numbers, and they are concentrated on smaller space, easier to move, they dont have to go 100 of jumps anymore. so coalition has lots of work infront of them :)
imho if all those sides are attacking bob they should cooperate much more. bob cant repell multiple attacks at same time, so attack couple of systems at same time, they will def one - others will fall.

PANIC!
The other thread got locked now. I agree in part with what you said except that I think part of the 'core' have already left when BoB began to go downhill (I mean in terms of standards, not successes)
As for the OP, it's flawed in the fact that the wars been going on for ages now, why would the coalition suddenly backup if it goes on for another 2-3 months more? It doesn't follow logic, coalition has been on the backfoot during the earlier stages and still carried on, I don't see them packing up now BoBs crumbling and is becoming more and more isolated from the rest of Eve resorting to trying to pass it off as all part of a glorious plan.

I dunno about Delve falling, but I for one am very much enjoying watching the "ASCN'ing" BoB is giving to all those alliances who showed up after RSF did most of the work.

And yes Delve will fall simply because RSF can cover most of the timezones, BOB can't, it's as simple. _____________________________________________________ Olivier C., providing fleet support since 1902. - My Eve videos |

In some peoples eyes, delve can literally never fall because they will rationalize it away somehow.

Yeah cause it would be a tragic blow for bob to fall.
No seriously, they are just an alliance like the rest of them. Bobs destroyed so many alliances, its their time now.
No tears just enjoy the ride. _____________________________
