Two is fairly common in my experience. At least amongst those in player corps. This is because a second account lets you have one char in 0.0 for fun and another in Empire for money. -- (Battle hardened industrialist)

I used two accounts, just because everything is easier in gang. One haul and the second mine, one use guns and the second use drones, one refine and the second produce.
Just too many thing to try for one account.

So far by my count that's 8 people running single accounts out of about 30 responders. Seems it's true then EVE is a 30$ a month and up game

In the past I've run 2 accounts. At the moment just one, but I will be reactivating the second account in the near future for an industrial/salvage/hauling alt.
IMO EVE encourages this far more than most other MMOs... because it's simply so difficult to experience more than 1 aspect of the game from a single character, unless maybe you're someone who's been around non-stop since day 1.

Personally i think alts suck...any kind of meta gaming FTL. In my perfect world CCP would only allowed 1 account per computer/ISP or whatever they can think of to stop people.
But thats just me.

Two accounts.
One combat toon training towards capital ships. The second started as a mining/industrial alt now capable of flying Stealth Bombers. I'm scrambling a bit on him to bring his weapon skills up to speed so he can use the Manticore properly.

I have three accounts. Two are for PvP and one is the scout/mission runner. I have two computers setup on desk and always have two accounts running when playing the game.
Every MMO I have played (SWG, WoW, Eve, etc) encourages people to have multiple accounts.

Proud to say I only have one account. I like to play this game like a real person, rather than like a god controlling multiple pawns, tbh. Do I suffer much? Not really. When I need a hauler, I mine with someone in my alliance. When I need a scout, a friend in my alliance is always willing to jump a couple gates for me (we're tight like that). When I need a mission running alt in high sec to make some fast ISK... I clone jump.

Out of interest, how well do you expect this to pay off for you compared to just selling GTCs?
CONCORD provide consequences, not safety; only you can do that. |

You'll probably have bias here on eve-o towards many accounts also. Simply due to the fact that people who are active and like the game enough to have multiples are more likely to visit the forums and post =)
Nerfing carriers and most everything nice for a t2 freighter that should be tier 2 isnt balancing ccp :( |

I had 4 at one time, but have cut back to just 1 for now, as all i seem to do anymore is log in to check my market activitys and chat with corpmates, and I can accomplish all this with the 1 trader account. -=^=-

That would obviously never work. CCP has no way to distinguish between one guy playing two accounts and a husband/wife or two brother or two roommates playing two accounts.
I have two accounts. Some things are just far too damn boring to devote ones entire attention to. And of course, there's scouting in low sec/0.0, which is basically mandatory.
It's not so much that I need two accounts to get by, as I need two accounts to feel sufficiently 'busy'. There is so much waiting in EVE with just one account.

^___^ If I had a sig, this would be it.
But it does feel that 1 account = 1 character in eve. Which, for me, is a major drawback.

This.
I think people who fund themselves by mission-running high-sec alts kindof suck at what they do.

I have no idea to be honest. Since the market seems to fluctuate all the time. I expect to get around 3-4b per character (selling at around 20m sp). Since I can't really afford GTCs, there's not alternative (I pay with isk from missions ). Oh, and 90 day GTCs have best isk -> time ratio
