1. Ending with a bang. A big bang! - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
Congrats on the freedom OP. Take my advice and keep your character, even if you think you'll never play again. I took the long trip to Jita 7 years ago to sell all my stuff, and gave a bunch of isk to some random newbies and did a drawing for the ...

2. Returning player looking for pvp - in Alliance and Corporation Recruitment Center [original thread]
About Me: Veteran EVE player, returning to the game after several years away. I originally encountered EVE in spring of '03 when I played during the closed beta. Didn't play again until 2005, and played from then til 2007 when I got a bit bored ...

3. Industry to support PvP - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
So I've come back to the game recently and am basically starting over (had given old chars away). PvP has always been my main interest in the game, but obviously you need iskies to fund it... In the past I mainly did 0.0 ratting and L4 missions, b...

4. Changing Race, neccesary? - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
I don't know of many people starting an alt just to fly the ships of another race - and it would be fairly foolish. Most people though do prefer to have several highly specialized alts to deal with industry/mining/research/etc rather than "taintin...

6. A cure for lag? P2P? - in Player Features and Ideas Discussion [original thread]
The thing is, CCP's problem isn't really bandwidth, it's server-side CPU issues. Namely (from what I've read) that if one node starts getting pounded, they have to take down said node and manually allocate additional CPUs to help balance the load....

7. Petition Local chat window - in Player Features and Ideas Discussion [original thread]
+1 for the most original idea ever. Oh wait... Local could only be removed if CCP completely reworks the sensor system to make it a viable detection tool. Being forced to click the scan button every 5 seconds is simply unacceptably terrible "game...

8. Obscure questions about inertia and ECM - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
Quote: eople have mentioned before in nanoship threads that ships with bigger mass have higher inertia which I perfectly understand but the bigger ships in Evemon have lower interia mods. I thought it would be the other way around. It's ...

Edited by: Merakys on 17/02/2008 02:34:37 Quote: I know I won't be able to effectively pilot it just by getting the base skills, but I'm curious as to what character setup has a lot of the skills already at the needed level. None of ...

10. 650mm Artillery scout vs gallium - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
Even here in EVE many if not most people succumb to the standard MMO mindset of needing "the best". So just like they're willing to pay 500 gold for a "+20 cloak of uberness" (or whatever) in wow-type games, they're willing to pay for that extra f...

11. Podding in anywhere but bubbles - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
It's a combination of luck and lag. Intys and AFs can be setup with such a high scan resolution that they can lock even pods almost instantly. The saving grace is that most people won't have a specially setup inty/AF waiting there to grab your pod...

12. PvE: EvE vs WoW - in Out of Pod Experience [original thread]
Since EVE is PvP-centric, CCP has just never really invested much time/effort in improving the NPC AI. Most people view missions' sole purpose as being to earn money for PvP, and once you're able to earn 20-30 mil an hour running level 4's, it's a...
