By the way, if you're there, and grow antsy waiting for your match to start, a few of us have been withdrawing to other planets in system, and doing a bit of Frigate or Newbie ship fighting for fun. Just cheap little things (please do not bring a faction frig!) for giggles. Something to do waiting for ducks to get into rows, and draw aggro from cans!
So if your hauler has extra room, bring that dusty frigate along!
Oh, and there are a few of us chatting about the matches in the Cruiser Tourney channel via Eve Voice. Be sure to turn that on! /Thaadd (eagerly awaiting her match 14:30 GMT Tuesday!) #1 Don't fly what you can't lose. |

Originally by: Aurelius Constantinus It was originally the tourney6.avi file, but I understand after a little mix up, the frasp was deleted accidentally.
Um, how can *anyone* find *their* video? Or are you gonna answer each of the 172 questions personally?

There are a handful of cameramen working at different times and at different arenas. Most - but not all - matches are being recorded. The SAK EVEnt crew will make a 'highlights' section after the tournament, but at the moment, tracking down a specific match can prove difficult.
Ararius (Rupture) and Kelevraen (Thorax) defeat Fuynin (Stabber) and Khory Bitterleaf (Caracal) in 2:00.

This is untrue and we had set a time to fight our opponents on 1/29, due to them and us never being online at the same time. The fight will go on as scheduled.

Forty Three and Paddington lied about the time we were supposed to fight. I have all the logs right here.
El Caido and I bickered about some minor point of rules before the tournament. He is being utterly favoritist in not allowing us our fight. He wouldn't even look at the proof that the other team set our match at a certain time, and then told him differently. If anything, Forty Three and Paddington ought to be the ones to be disqualified for lying and attempting to cheat their way past us. But we were still ready for the fight, right there, before they even went to their next match and still they wouldn't fight us.
Not only that, but by doing this, El Caido has proven beyond a doubt that he's not impartial, he's not fair, and this whole tournament is a sham. It's a damn shame... we entered this tournament in good faith, we trained, we spent time and effort for it, expecting decent treatment, and for something like this to happen, it absolutely damages the proceedings badly, if not irreparably.

Chat logs can be edited, so how can SAK know if Forty Three and Paddington lied, or if you are the lier? If you were in SAK shoes and had to choose which team to believe, would you assume that the time received by eve-mail is the correct one? This is the only correct decision to make.
So maybe your team lied, maybe your opponent lied, maybe something else created confusion. But in any case SAK took the right action and your bashing in this forums only serve to discredit you.
Moreover there is a simple way that this could have been avoided. _You_ should have sent the agreed time to SAK directly, instead of letting your _opponent_ team take care of things. The action of not sending SAK the time before hand only raise suspiscion against you. If your opponent sent a different time then you, SAK would know right away that something is wrong.
There are many aspects in a tournament and failing to send the agreed on to SAK and trusting the other team to do it is a call to create such a situation. Hopefully you will learn from this instead of blaming everyone and everything for your mistake.

Hm. So I'm thinking there are 2 lessons to be learned:
1) Cc the refs on every communication with one's opponents, and 2) Inform your opponents that any communication from them that is NOT Cc'd to the refs will be ignored.
Does that sound about right?

1) Only important information such as schedule needs to be communicated, there's no need to overload the refs with meanless chit chat. 2) Optional but nice.

Coming into the halfway point of the tournament, and today has been a chaotic day, at best. I thank everyone for their patience and I apologize on behalf of the SAK EVEnt crew to those who may feel unjustly-treated by the referees ... but as has been stated since the very beginning of registration: all referee decisions are final. Regardless, the show must go on:
bigbaby27 and prof volkner are withdrawn due to availability issues. Senya RUS and Jejo Zanzibaroov move onto the next round.
tituria supera and verital are withdrawn due to availability issues. whk deathknight and Kyros Emerson move onto the next round.
Dark Sanguine and Lysander Kreig are withdrawn due to availability issues. xFLYBOYx and Ithica Ramlix move onto the next round.

So... what you're saying is, that your opponent's team can go ahead and tell the judge that the fight is at any time they want, when you're offline, and when you don't show up, that's that? How in the world does that make ANY sense at all?
We were there, in the system, ready to fight at the appointed time. They went ahead and fought their 'next' opponents anyway, after telling us they'd fight us still, cowards.
