Each side choose a few champions and let's see who's the last one standing at the end of a fight.

Hey!! I was just talking about this in corpchat today.

I believe they don't reinforce nodes anymore for some "bizarre" reason
The EVE end game is fubard, why even have caps in the game if all they do is play the lottery in a fleet battle.
This is obviously not the first time lag has been brought up as a game killer ( not only lag, but the insane cpu bottle neck you get that reduces you to 1 fps even with a ú2000 rig )
Well done TRI, bit seriously the losers in this battle were not Smashkill, it was CCP, and their grandiose claims at fleet combat within the shattered scope of this game
I wonder how well the steam marketing will go when they realise the situation will only get worse

We won. If we do the same dance 10 times more and does equally well then I'll sign we handle lagg better. Or are just rolling double sixes like no one else.
Cheers, Lowa - yes, you may call me names for this. A one time op to mention my mom too.
Much <3 Lowa.
Edit: Also to the guy talking about where I got my numbers from, I got them from your kb. Those numbers are realted to the battle followed on the link on your kb. My point of that was not this was our numbers vs yours but how the numbers dropped due to lag, desync and dropping left right and centre.
CCP should be asking themsleves some serious questions when FC's stop calling primaries and state 'Anyone that can still lock call primaries. That has nothing to do with training or your FC's performance but like I said GF

I will keep it simple, I am glad I shot something before I died :).
Second... LAG was a major issue on both sides and YES TRI won the fight.
Third... WES and TRI know we waited on that gate for how long WES? NO smack but TRI had intel on us just like we did on them.(YES/NO)?
Forth... TRI get smack talked about their gangs to geminate that are nano or RR and blah blah right..? Aswell as US get smacked about BLOBING... all i have to say is TRI are fun to fight and the battle odds to US were known and you know what... RK and friends are FUK'N crazy. :)
Fifth.. I prefer flying non-cap missile boats ;p

1. We inform the Alliance we are attacking. 2. We decide on the System we are to fight in. 3. The date ( give a range of a week or two maybe )
Inform CCP of the date etc and request that node for that area be reinforced. for a week either side of those dates.
Then when the attack takes place we all act suprised, and suitably outraged that this has happened.
And we have a HUGE battle with little lag.
Well what do you think.
It would still lag. I know, I'm a pathetic pessimist.

This is a very good idea
We can use a 1 gate system and do it Thunderdome way: "Two men enter. One man leaves" ________________________________________

It used to be when i sent a petition to GM's they thanked me in advance and reinforced the nodes.
The last time i tried this the GM sent me a mail saying they only reinforce the node when the node crashes.
...roll on supercomputer, i dream of what might be.

I support this message.
Now, what we should do, it is insane and it would mean we/you/both will drop another 10b into the EVE cap-industry but remake this battle again, make sure we all turn on that "logging/debuggin" thingy and go to battle. I know, odds of this actually happening is not very high but that is whats needed to get proper data to CCP. Or at least as proper it can be. Also, inviting GM/Dev to the fight would be good and that IS possible.

To be honest any "reinforce this system because there WILL be a fight" should be a signal for ccp to: 1. reinforce area 2. get someones ass there to check how it works and where lag comes from 3. gather data
Its not like people hide large battles, some were well anounced beforehand (like Dark said: there were petitions asking to reinforce certain systems before battles ever happened) but most of those seem to be ignored nowadays. And then CCP acts all surprised that node crashed (how did they call it when node crashd on bob titan? anomaly?.. pfff...).

alright guys, i guess we will have to plan ahead as stated earlier in the thread, we will have to crash the node 2hours prior to fight. :(.... Frig full of BMs anyone?

This was my first large fleet battle in a very long time and in a word, it sucked. It is obvious that the game platform does not support demand any where close to levels required by that battle. My suggestion is CCP should kick players proportionally until a reasonably playable experience is achieved for the players that remain.
That said my hat is off to anybody willing to attack Triumvirate especially in their home territory at any sort of parity. Unlike my previous experiences with other alliances while waiting attack, Triumvirate behaved like a giggling bride awaiting her groom. When it became apparent no attack was forth coming they gleefully jumped toward the aggressors as a lover to her love. We warped off chasing them hoping to see at least some combat. When no more hesitation than a momentary thought they jumped forthwith into the system and proceeded to dine. We where sent around the long way and much to our disappointment where called upon only when the battle outcome was assured. I fear it may be a long time for anybody else ignores the ôbeware of dogsö sign posted on the VFK gate.

Well since CCP is already used to giving us different clients, what about a fleet client, where there is no crazy graphics, just some black and white or something x's and o's as it were. Some basic client without a bunch of effects / backgrounds / ship models etc...
Whatchya think?

Mabey they could just make it like a big 2 dimensional board with a bunch of black and white squares on it, and we could only move our ships diagonally and killed other ships by jumping over them. If you make it to the end then you get a titan and can go backwards. Sounds like it would be a fun game .

this was such a great fight for everybody that took part, as far as mentioned the lag was working against us all, i myself just had a black screen for about 5mins, then i had to relogin which seemed to take forever, when i got back to the fight we were right in the middle of the fleet, i thought wow here we go, targets were called took ages to lock , there were what seemed liked a whole screen of fighters going around attacking ships, we had already lost a carrier but we still battled on, the enemy carriers started to drop down a few warped off, it was a great fight & having a carrier into 50% structure then we repped him up to nearly full was also a great point in the fight,
all i can now say is that yes we all suffered from lag, it was awful, but all in all an absolute great fight
