I think the "crash the node before next fleetbattle" was the best suggestion.
Nice, but this time Tri was at least equal numbers-wise, yes?
Yeah I made a topic on general about a separate not so much resource taking client, which also would help with fleet battles earlier. Of course the only reply was "get better computer lol" ---

The late night battle (well late night North American time) was way more fun from my perspective than Sunday. Numbers were fairly even, although Smashkill did have some carriers etc.
The night went like this:
- One large POS coming out of reinforced at about midnightish my time (MST). Approx 1 hour before the POS came out the first battles started.
- Cloaky Tri recons trying to get warpins on Smashkill BS's and support trying to rep guns etc
- One Raven was within tackle range, cloaks dropped our nano fleet warped in, I put jams out, they decloaked 2 falcons and 2 Rooks, leading to my death and the death of a couple other nano-fags.
- As Wes goes back to Jita for a new Falcon and fits, Tri regroups and switches to snipers. ATF are invited to join the pew and they send a few brave souls.
- Snipers move back into 4U90 without any resistance. Snipers begin to warpin around the POS to various snipe points and light up BS's that are outside of the POS shields. We had some success, but Smashkill did a good job using their 6 Carriers to get RR on BS's. We rinse and repeat a few times, from time to time we switch to shooting their support and kill a few Hacs. At some point during this time ATF nano gang arrives to bolster our numbers.
- Word is Smashkill reinforcements from their secret staging area's in Venal's NPC stations are entering system. We get a warpin, with support going on the gate. Support does a good job at tackling and Snipers start shooting. Some Smashkill make it off the gate and head for the POS. The Smashkill fleet at the POS warp back to save those stuck and dieing. Many of those who warp into to save their friends get bubbled and also die, leaving Tri to hold the gate.
- Tri fleet warps back to the POS to pick off those slow to enter the POS and manage a few more kills. Several more attempts were made to pick off targets of opportunity, Smashkill Carrier pilots do a good job at keeping their BS's alive.
At this point I had to log...it looks like Smashkill were able to rep the POS back up.
Smack in local seemed pretty light hearted, and I think compared to the massive lagfest of Sunday everyone had a good time! Lets make it earlier next time gentlemen, my work is starting to suffer!!

Originally by: Mickey Knox i think if ccp would add one more layer of calculations like heat, rigs, scripts, boosters, maybe some more drone like things we can alunch then lag will surely get a lot better, hig powered graphics engine also probably will cut back on lag. ccp dont get it, we want a game that works, not shiny. here is a age old credo you might want to consider
FORM FOLLOWS FUNCTION!!!!!!
you can stop padding yourselfs on the back for the "only one server MMO Blah blah 34k players online blah blah blah. you can stick that where the sun dont shine oveur."
at this point, any Wow server performs better as people can actually play, and not watch a non interactive slideshow of this oh-so-awesome trinity**** engine.
the only thing, and really the only thing keeping my accounts active right now is the friends i have in my corp and alliance, otherwise i would put my 50 bucks elsewhere.
Get rid of all this **** you impelmented over the last few years and roll this **** back to Castor.
CCP, YOU FAIL, YOU SUCK AND YOU KNOW IT
Echo's my sentiment entirely. My 4yr old rig won't hold this crap up much more..
CCP think of how many less petitions you'll have to handle. You can sack half the customer services staff if you just fix the lag? Now that's gotta be worth it!!

When no more hesitation than a momentary thought they jumped forthwith into the system and proceeded to dine. I petioned about an hour before the fight and got a reply that "we'll think about reinfoceing the node"

1. We inform the Alliance we are attacking. 2. We decide on the System we are to fight in. 3. The date ( give a range of a week or two maybe )
Inform CCP of the date etc and request that node for that area be reinforced. for a week either side of those dates.
Then when the attack takes place we all act suprised, and suitably outraged that this has happened.
And we have a HUGE battle with little lag.
Well what do you think.
I support this message.

I said Good Fight in my earlier post because I show respect to those who brought the fight. I'm not about to concede that our side got stomped. The losses were not due to better tactics or more numbers. We lost because we could not lock each other in order to remote rep. For the entire fight I was able to only lock two or three ships. And never had any of my modules activate. Computer wise I'm on 2.2ghz machine with 3gig of ram on a 6 meg fiber (bi-directional) connection. Graphics were turned down to 15k colors, small tags. etc etc. I could look around the screen, look at other things, etc etc just couldn't activate.

just wanted to tell you guys, it's not the servers. it's the 10 year old network code they're using. Eve still supports being able to play on dialup.
Eve has a network code where you must load everyone and everything in the entire system before you load. You know those pauses you get when opening up market to check something? I mean where the screen slightly freezes then jumps as if it was cut to a new scene. Thats your client receiving data and pausing your whole computer while it does.
So imagine receiving data for all those in the battle plus the fighters. I mean its what about 70 carrier type ships? 30 on both sides nearly and like 6 motherships for tri, lots of fighters. CCP has said they are in the process of writing new network stuff, let's hope it is finished for everyone sake before everyone leaves.
Go Hard, or go Home.

This made me laugh. Why would you load the entire system if you only have a sluggish dialup internet connection?

Originally by: TroNaaR Well since CCP is already used to giving us different clients, what about a fleet client, where there is no crazy graphics, just some black and white or something x's and o's as it were. Some basic client without a bunch of effects / backgrounds / ship models etc...
Whatchya think?
Errr i dont think so dude..I pay a subscription every month for a stable game thats supposed to work for what im paying for, not a half ar$ed one. What ****es me off that CCP dont even offer some type of compensense for this at all. And that CCP arrogance just makes my blood boil. I shouldnt have to have a cut down client, i shouldnt have turn every single effect off (which makes no damn difference) your still waitng for ages I mean it lags just while using the market for god sake and we still put up with it. Anyway this is off topic, so bring it on RK/Smash etc.
