Edited by: DragonRiderTao on 22/02/2008 21:00:19 Welcome to my thread.
My offer to you consists of a minimum 6% return every month for 14 months. Additional wealth will be shared when it occurs. It will be plentiful. At the end of the period your 100% of your investment is returned.
The goal this time is 12 billion isk.
I am working with high end T1 blueprints. I have all that I need researched now. I am able to produce from them at a rapid pace. I am selling at several systems around eve.
I will also trade T2 items within profitable systems around Eve. These include your common weapons systems to propulsion modules as well as defensive modules. The type of trading for the T2 items is in station. It does not include any risk as the goods are always safe within the station. I make sure not to buy overpriced. The selling of the T1 manufactured items is at the stations I produce from.
The returns are guaranteed to you no matter how bad I trade. I have enough experience to make only enough to pay you at the very worst. A significant amount of personal assets to pay dividends when they are due. At the end of the period 100% of your investment is returned. There will be additional benefits to you any time I make a greater than expected profit for that month. I will be liquidating all leftovers at the end of the period to give to you as additional growth.
Invest any amount you feel necessary. If you choose to ask for the amount back any time in the first month then I will return it at 75% value. If you choose to ask for the amount back before 8 months have elapsed then I will return it at 90% value. Costs of plan delays.
Please ask any serious questions. I am happy to answer you to the fullest. Looking forward for your participation.
The timer starts this Sunday at 0:00 Eve time. 14 months ends at 0:00 Eve time on April 30 2009.

P.S. I was in his last round, and the money flowed well from him to me. In fact, haiku time:

I invested 50m isk in his prior venture and received all my isk back, in addition to dividends reflecting an 8% per month return.
Sad to see the rate has dropped. But, I will re-invest the 50m into the new venture.

Got paid out in full on previous scheme. I have already reinvested the return and doubled it.
Finding a floating head that spits out haiku Confucius style is very rare, and then even for one such to take my money, then give me regular returns and pays when he says... After all this time he has been consistent. Perhaps he is proving quite a few people wrong? |

Consistent wealth was apparently given.

Might be a somewhat deep scam attempt to return small amounts to gain confidence to run off with a larger amount. Most investors in DragonRiderTao believe that supporting his entertainment value is worth enough to offset the risk of investing in him. I tend to agree.
As always, never invest what you can't afford to lose, but that holds no truer here than anywhere else. DragonRiderTao has been confirmed to return what he promised in the past, and nobody has come forward claiming to be defrauded.

I still can't help but feel this guy is an alt of some regular person on this forum. First IPO started out as a joke, then actually got investment. Decided to honor it for laughs and is now continuing the shenanigans.
With Eve voice embedded in the software, it would not be unreasonable to form a chat channel and actually talk to this character. Is there anyone left in the world that plays a mmorpg without a mic?
Oh and it's not paranoia if they're really after you.

I couldn't help but start laughing when I read this because it got me thinking about my current playstyle lately. I am running four accounts on three computers, doing level 4 missions, looting, salvaging, hauling, refining and building all at the same time. I suppose it would be really odd if I used a mic to talk to myself while I control all my alts, but then my wife might really think I am crazy and call a doctor . I do wonder if CCP ever wonders how certain characters are able to flawlessly work as a team while in fleet mode without ever typing a single message. I don't run any macro's, but I wonder...
But, investing in IPO's is good, many investors brings much wealth

Thank you Shar. I've perused the threads and it looks like DRT isn't dumb but chooses to word his sentences carefully in a complaisant and even humorous manner. I guess this is the shortest way to getting investment without wasting time with 5000 explanation lines. Dragon - it might be a rumour (or call it my 6th sense) but I hear there is a free slot at e-bank. You're as good a candidate as anyone else. May bring some calm and peace to the board :)
Also your scheme seems to be as safe as anything else going on atm.

I think DRT's comments about ripening fruit and an impending harvest would seem to indicate that he's sticking with his original schedule. So I would guess 14 months from when he started this, not 14 months from now.
On the other hand I'm horrible at wisdom, my player rolled an "8" on mine when he built me. So I could easily be wrong.
If I had spare capital I'd invest in the floating head.
But for now I can achieve higher growth myself.

meh to you
Given the context of the complimentary mood I found myself in, after having read through 3? threads, as well as the respectful language I intended and hope I conveyed, 'Would you please...' imho frames as less than 'extremely rude'.
The history shows all attempts at IG details are not available due to confidentiality? to protect his investors? his operation? The history is filled with (understandably) inflamatory remarks.
I for one would appreciate a better sense of the person. While making the request, I considered that an answer may in some way impact the image he's established. That descision is really best left to DRT.
'No' in response, is always one answer.
That said then, I really don't care for your knee-jerk O. For that matter, may I direct you to the following link. A thread that is fraught with the result of having asked for peoples' RL information.

"Would you please show me your ****?"
It starts with a very cordial "would you please" but still gets you slapped in the face. Asking for real life details conversationally is one thing; asking as though your investment entitles you to them is quite another. There's an etiquette for these things and when you don't follow it, well, you get "knee-jerk" reactions.

In any dialog, context is everything. (the larger thread history, this little stir)
Originally by: DragonRiderTao Please ask any serious questions.
I admit, I took some liberty with the application of 'any'. Again, 'extremely rude' is nowhere near. Similarly, 7175 is an exageration of my query. Ofc I would consider an apology to DRT alone should he intonate offense. The rest of you, if I agree with the review.
Currently I find Vhaluus and now you, have jumped the gun.
Originally by: Kwint Sommer ... asking as though your investment entitles ...
Hmm, intent in preceeding the question with the investement statement was to affirm my 'choice' in trusting the investment offer. It was in no way a demand for information. In any case, 'entitles' again, is an unapplicable exageration.
At one point part of my composition read, 'No, is an acceptable response'. Immediately I saw my 'acceptance' as haughty. Yes, the course of writing is invisible to the reader, so I share this comment now in response to your position. Also, I was deliberate in mimicing DRT's minimalism. That may be having an affect on other readers. Such is the conflict of forums, communicating for multiple agendas may create conflict.
Again, the air of 'entitlement' from a simple straight forward sentance? IMO you are off base.
Some further context should you be interested, and DRT, please consider the remainder NOT to necessarily be a direct co-relation to you.
Here, I believe that some vetting of personal details would be a valued addition in avoiding scams.
A forum based interview, as is, is highly limited. This etiquette you speak of, I say, needs to be revisited and balanced. At such a time as the context allows for, probe deeper with respect that the information requested is RL. The respondant ultimately has control thereafter. And ultimately, the truth of any statements may be fleeting. My point is the dialog is another oppurtunity to test and establish the context/frame of mind of the applicant.
Originally by: Kwint Sommer when you don't follow it, well, you get "knee-jerk" reactions.
You imply agreement that, Vhaluus' comment was a 'knee-jerk' reaction. Such responses in themselves are rude. My last response let this slide in respect of his veteraness. 'knee-jerk', by nature is a semi-automatic response, implying little consideration of context/intent/content. Is your own defence of a fellow vet a 'knee-jerk' reaction? Does my one statement deserve the co-relation to 7175? If I were a vet, would I get the same treatment? (Yes, I have the impression that Vhaluus is a vet. If not, then some of this immediate content is off base.)
I do actually respect the participatory history and contributory effort that vets have made in this forum. Please though, let's not be dismissive or derogatory merely on the basis of my forum age.
Thank you for your time. Aps if I come off heavy-winded. My intent was to be succinct while still communicating points I felt applicable.

Maybe i'm just missing something here but...
you invest any amount you choose, then you'll get 6% back each month for fourteen months...
14x6 = 84, Meaning you've just lost 16% of whatever you invested, How is this a good idea again?
When you got 8% back each month, yeah 14x8=100 = 112... ok... so you helped him out for a profit of 12%, But at a loss of 16%? |

Read OP more carefuly:
My offer to you consists of a minimum 6% return every month for 14 months. Additional wealth will be shared when it occurs. It will be plentiful. At the end of the period your 100% of your investment is returned.

IIRC 12B was also what was requested in the Plato Fund -- which you derided as a scam before an audit was even done.

I'm not trying to be a troll here, but you seem to lack an understanding as to how debt works.
Let me break it down for you.
We loan DRT a certain of isk for a fixed period of time. The amount of isk loaned is called the principal. In consideration of the loan of isk he agrees to pay us regular payment of isk which are a fixed percentage of the principal. This is called interest. At the end of the fixed period for the loan he pays back the principal and over the life of the loan he has also paid out regular interest payment.
He has had the use of our isk for period of time and we have been paid (in interest) for the use of our isk.

Received another 6% dividend today. This is in addition to the three previously posted and the one before today's, which I neglected to post. That's a total of five dividends totalling 30 million ISK, on a 100 million ISK investment. If he were going to scam, he'd have done it by now.
For those not convinced, here is a screenshot of my wallet's recent donations. Only the two most recent dividends show up, but for whatever little good it does, there they are. (For the record, I stopped using this toon as my primary several months ago, hence the low wallet balance; he is an alt, but not of DRT's. The name of my new primary is blacked out.)

I noticed a 'growth' in my wallet today as well. I never expected to see these bounties, but DragonRiderTao is.. fertile? Or a very large ponzi scheme, but if it were that, I think he'd of disappeared by now.
Not sure why there'd be skepticism about the rate of return the floating head offers, the terms and return is not dissimilar from Dynasty Bank's CD's. I can see skepticism due to him not posting some hundred post long IPO, but oh well. I don't even see the point of an audit at this point, he's already got everybody's isk. Sit back and hope for continued bountiful harvests, folks. :P

Edited by: Kytanos Termek on 01/03/2009 07:22:34 Edited by: Kytanos Termek on 01/03/2009 07:21:16 a recent con artist in real life was finally caught after many decades of taking clients money. then paying them back each year with 6% for 14 years. He was always consistent on payments and had a decent personality. This helped ease old clients and create new ones. He didn't do anything with the money. he just took it. He spent some of it. but the constant flow of new clients insured that he was always abel to pay the dividends.
I applaud you for adapting lessons from real life. What works their with real money and real people can work here. You are one slick dude. :-)

Edited by: Kytanos Termek on 01/03/2009 07:29:22 business soon became one of the largest in the world, offering clients the opportunity to trade on stock and bond markets cheaply and at high speed. Brokerage, however, was a highly competitive business and Madoff began looking enviously at the much higher profits to be made from actually managing other peopleÆs money. So he set up a separate investment firm, one floor below his brokerage business in one of ManhattanÆs smartest office buildings. He surrounded himself with a small team and set about wooing investors.
His promise was to return 12-13 per cent a year to investors in good times or bad. The only condition was that no one ask how he did it. Sure enough, for many years, those 12-13 per cent returns kept rolling in. Madoff quickly earned a name for himself. People were desperate to give their money to him. They started joining those golf clubs in Florida and New York where he was a member, purely to get to know him. He fostered an air of exclusivity, targeting only the very wealthy. He turned people away from his investment schemes and offered æinvitation onlyÆ policies.
Barbara Fox, president of a Manhattan estate agency, told the New York Times she æliterally begged himÆ to take her on, but he refused. Madoff insisted that the minimum investment was $1million, and even then he still refused to accept business. The tactic served only to make people more eager to give him their money. So reliable did a Madoff investment seem, among retreats such as the Palm Beach Country Club and the Old Oaks in Purchase, New York, that it became known as the æJewish bondÆ, returning money as dependably as a government bond.
Before long he had netted some of the most sophisticated money-men in New York û owners of baseball teams, clothing magnates, the chairman of General MotorsÆ financing arm. And he used these gold-plated names to encourage more investors into his stable. Madoff further bolstered his reputation by becoming a cornerstone of New YorkÆs financial community. He was chairman of the Nasdaq hi-tech electronic stock exchange, a trustee of Yeshiva University. At the beginning of this year, Madoff was managing $17billion on behalf of individuals, hedge funds, pension funds and charities.
He would have made some $700million a year in revenue for his company. Each year, his investors would receive statements informing them how much their money had grown. Some of them would take the income in cash. Others would reinvest it with Madoff. There was never a problem getting your money out of a Madoff fund. Until this year. It was the credit crisis which undid Madoff, as it has so many of the financial charlatans who thrived in recent years. For all this time, while he had been posing as a brilliant financial savant, he was simply not good enough to make the returns he claimed to make.
Yet he was too greedy and too proud to admit it. But this year investors started asking for their money back as the markets crashed, and new investors were impossible to find. For months, his employees said he appeared to be under extreme stress. And at the beginning of this month he cracked. According to the FBI, he summoned his two sons Andrew and Mark, who worked for the firm, and told them clients were trying to pull $7billion out of his funds. And he didnÆt have it. On December 9, he told them that his investment business was æfinishedÆ, that he had æabsolutely nothingÆ, that æitÆs all just one big lieÆ. He said it had been insolvent for years.

Edited by: Kytanos Termek on 01/03/2009 07:41:56 TLDR Version: Con artist takes money. Promises growth. Is consistent on payments. Uses both the low value of payments and length of scam to act as concealment. Gives select clients growth so they may "vouch" for him. Act's all happy and lovable.
What really sets me off is how if you ask for withdrawal. Is he said right their he wont give it all back (just 75% or 90%). For "costs of plan delays" that sounds like financial babble to me. In real life that can happen. moving money is harder than you think. You gotta call banks, Do all this ****. Especially when large amounts are concerned. But all he has to do is find your name. Enter the amount you gave him minus whatever percentage is already handed out and give it back.

I would ask for investors but wouldn't want to appear like a scammer and thus damage my reputation. This is all irrelevant now because I have decided to dump Eve online. Received the last dividend + principal + 2% bonus. No payments were missed but I am disappointed with the overall rate of return; we were told that 6% was the bare minimum monthly return we would see but we never saw anything higher. For all I know you stuck the money into various 7% CDs through Dynasty Bank or something.
Still, you didn't scam us at least, so thanks for a good run.

6% is actually pretty good these days and there is no 7%/month CD available from DB (not even close to it).

I see the 3-month lock prevention kicked in. Glad this is still going on .... I miss rawcola though, to be honest. He was an equally good half of this dynamic duo.
