Ok, so what is the best of all command ships? It has come to my attention that most people think that EOS (the gallente one) is by far the best of all the command ships, as it can carry a huge amount of drones, changing its "role" from tanker to EW, and etc.
But people also told me that the vulture is one of the best caldari shield tankers, as for their passive resistances.
The Claymore and the Damnation i dont know them very well, so i cant much give an opinion about it.
Also, a question...the 50m3 bonus a Eos receive for its Command ships bonus...is it 50m3 per level, totalizating 250m3 at lvl 5 of command ship? Thats quite a lot! Although you have a limited drone bandwith, its a very good versability when using several diferent drones.
But i would like to know from the vet players...the command ships.... in a rank of 1 to 4 (being 1 the best), how would you arrange the ships?
Btw, was thinking right now...."capital command ship" that sounds nice!

there is no "best" command ship like there is not "best" ship in this game... all the ships have a role and they fit in it.
i can fly amarr, gallente, minmatar commands (fleet and field commands) and i wouldnt say any of them are better than others.. all have a advantage and all have disadvantages ---------------------------------- This is Me, fighting stupidity one post at a time. Right now you can pickup EOS for just about under build cost it seems.
So in that regard I'd say EOS is pretty spliffy.
That said the bonus to gams has to be geared to what you're looking to do with the ship.

If u want to kill stuff: 1: sleipnir 2:astarte 3:abso 4:nighthawk (in that order of preference, 2 and 3 can be swapped depending on situation)
If u want to take a beating: damnation can have a bi_tc_h of a tank, as can the vulture (t2 CDFP rigs)
eos used to be an awesome pwnmobile, but it got its teeth kicked in by ccp (and rightly so in this case)

I have 2 Characters with both 50+ mil skill points One is Gall. and the other is Min.
Sleipnir > EOS
The massive tank and DPS with uber tracking on the 425 autocannon that can reach out to 20km is just dirty.
Sleipnir can take a Damnation and its so called uber tank but the damnation can't kill a Sleipnir. Same with the caldari command ships. The Sleipnir also can drop an Astare before the astare takes 1/2 the shields off the Sleipnir..

in most cases :D
but solo astarte and sleipnir are better... abso can solo.. but not THAT effecivly :(
so there is no "best" command... all of them can do something the others cant do ---------------------------------- This is Me, fighting stupidity one post at a time. PS: There are no computer BUGs, there is stuff called "Random Features"

I'm going to stick my neck out and say that for the specific task of running missions the Nighthawk is the best command ship. There are some minor issues with speed of completion due to slightly poor DPS output but they are offset, IMO, by the awesome 23/7 semi-passive tank.
It makes mission grinding slightly more boring but at least you know that you have to be a really, really stupid and really, really unlucky to lose your ship. -- (Sarcastic mission running veteran)

Edited by: Neoptolomeus on 18/03/2008 14:05:21 Well, the main reason i am looking after a command ship is for the field bonus. I dont intend on using it for solo playing, like mission running, pvping and whatever.(Altough of course that i will) That said, i was cheking out the warfare links, and there are some that are better then other in a "overrall" view. Siege and Armored warfare links are not so good, being as if you¦re using siege and you have a gang member using armor tanking, he receives nothing, same with Armored. So i came down to Information (that conserns EW) and Skirmish (conserns some kind of EW....lol)
So IFthe 15% of bonus to warfare link effectiveness (thats at lvl 5 of command ship) makes a difference when handling out a fleet of 150 players, i am considerating getting the EOS or the Claymore. IMO, the eos for the versability of the drones, not to say logistics. Of course, that i would be using it as a "non-combat" ship, being away from the combat scenario! =P

I know that carriers and motherships can do that, but i meant a capital command ship that could do that and much more, like give big amounts of bonus to fleet and that kind of stuff.
