I'm going to take a moment to try to address some issues as well as make an open statement about my beliefs regarding our current situation. I believe that a lack of information is a bad thing and that part of what I should be doing is keeping you goons informed about what's going on behind closed doors and what our current status is in relation to important space happenings. This post will be but it will be honest and detailed. I don't think it's any secret that the average goon has felt a disconnection with the leadership as of late. Engaging in a vendetta of the proportions we've been involved in is draining and "doing" is a lot easier than endlessly circling back to discuss things. This is something that is primary on my list of agenda items to rectify. We cannot expect goons to show up and die without reason and without showing a commitment to match if not exceed their sacrifices and expectations. I am working now with our directorate to ensure that we are engaged directly and where we need to make improvement from my perspective we will. Goon leadership under my CEOdome will be visible and will be active. Which brings me to participation. There are a number of factors that limit our participation on strategic operations. Some of these factors I can fix and some I can't. There may be a perception that leadership isn't pulling their weight. Cynojammers suck. Lag sucks. BoB sucks. We all are aware of these things. Our ops need to be carefully planned and we need to see where we can improve communication as being too opsec simply puts us in a position where nobody "gets" ops. If you don't see the big picture then why should you contribute? I don't disagree with that and I'm not going to insinuate that you SHOULD. I'm not going to ask you to trust myself and my judgement or that of our directorate without being willing to prove it and make the same commitments you are when I can. Expect to see a CEO on the ***** front lines every single time I can be there and expect a *** explanation if I'm not. Don't take what I'm saying at face value, log on and shoot things with me. I do not dictate without being willing to sacrifice and I have the utmost faith that when lead properly, goons will follow suit. Your actions and your commitment is the baseline I will use to judge myself and will be the very BASIS of our ongoing involvement. I believe it is important to finish BoB. I believe that we really don't have a choice in the matter. I also believe that we can achieve this goal but I need every single one of you with me to get it done. It makes sense to me to remind you that we are NOT engaged in a war of aggression against BoB, chosen by us. We are engaged on a mission of defense that has spanned a large portion of the map and multiple allegiances. We fight them because if we walk away, they will rebuild and hit us again and again and again. The issue here is not whether we want to go kill some other entity. We all do. I'm pretty tired personally of fighting BoB under the current mechanics and I don't mind feeding them that forum ** because I don't fear honesty. BoB is tired as well. BoB is in a bad place right now. The difference between me and Molle is not just a thousand years in age, race and propensity towards pedophillac sodomy. The main difference is he needs to lie to his people to make them log in on a daily basis and I want to do what goons want to do, regardless of whether it's difficult or inconvenient. We've been on break for a couple of weeks now and have managed to hold onto QY6 without very much effort at all, despite BoB not having anything else to do but attack that system. While this has occured, we've worked on a few revisions to strategic policy, namely the timing of ops and the amount of opsec. We're going to experiment with two radical changes to ops. First, we're going to shift the tempo to an every other day strategic op, rather than 2x strategic ops a day. In this way, we hope to be able to get a higher turnout and accomplish more with it, rather than wearing down goons with an incessant pace. Second, we're going to start openly advertising the targets of some of these strategic ops. Suas and I believe that we're doing more damage to our turnout by not explaining the nature of an op than we're gaining in opsec; it's easy to tell where we'll be striking if you're in BoB's position, simply because they have so little territory remaining, and goons hate 'x up for op, not telling you what for' announcements. So, you should have more information about why you should turn up to an op, and the pace of ops themselves should be eaiser for people to prepare for, rather than a relentless commitment to 23/7 pos war. On days where we won't be having strategic ops, we'll be having non-BS*fagging gangs. These are fun, help us keep Delve suppressed, and don't deplete our BS reserves in QY6. People have been having a blast with them these past two weeks, and we should keep that up. Your orders: 1. Stockpile Battleships to QY6: Then bring more. Use Mykow's service, do whatever it takes, but bring and stash multiple battleship hulls ready to go on strategic ops in QY6. This has both the defensive purpose of keeping QY6 firmly in our hands, and the offensive purpose of allowing us to greatly enhance our BS/support ratio on strategic ops. 2. Bring Battleships on Strategic Ops: If you can fly them and have them, we want you in a BS, be it a fleet or RR BS depending on the op announcement. 3. For more than a year our focus has been entirely on BoB, BoB pets, allies, renters and wildcards who may or may not have something to do with our little internet vendetta. But the range of targets for our agents has gradually declined; most all of the pets are dead, and beyond the usual 'get in BoB' directive we need to start positioning our intelligence apparatus to respond to the post-War environment. This means, essentially, that we need an assload of new agents spread out amongst a dizzying array of targets. We planned the BoB war, we have a couple of other plans after BoB, but the purpose of the GIA has always been defensive: to give early warning of extinction level threats to the Swarm. But now we're running a little low on obvious extinction level threats, so this drive aims to place a huge number of agents across a wide variety of 0.0 targets. As it stands POS warfare forced what was dynamicly moving roaming medium sized fleets on tour into static located larger scale blobs. Which given the potentual loss and gain of area leads to huge stand-off's and as such large ass'ed lagged out fleet fights forcing everybody into the system of choice of that day, wereever the POS may be. CCP added more hull to ships and armour etc to prolong PVP experience inline with the game and away from the perceieved arcade feel. Something needs to happen with POS's in that they dont force huge blobs to fight over them. I dont know the true answear beyond say changing the goalposts to the extent of removing POS's. Indeed the whole aspect of LAG and blob's only realy became a issue once POS's were introduced. For all effect POS's have turned 0.0 into a rather large game of GO, which given the numbers is like having a 3 leggeded race but with 100 people per team all trying to win the race. But a nice read and insight into what Goons are going thru and comforting and also disconcerning that they are suffering what every other alliance does during a prolonged terratorial war (FA was my insight into such issues long ago so alot of deja-vue here). I hope the Goons dont end up infighting too much, nobody deserves that, even my current war-targets. PS you folks should do a faction fly thru empire - just for fun as would be good for your soles :).
