Edited by: Shamis Orzoz on 07/04/2008 18:55:30 I'm very impressed with BRUCE's organization thus far. The only thing that will bring them down in the long run is greed.
I am glad we're attacking them now though... I was always a little unsure of what exactly BRUCE was doing down there in fountain. I assumed they weren't very active, which is why they didn't help with the war...but now I see that they could've easily turned the tide of many coalition/bob battles we've had recently. Its a shame really.

After there fleet got doomsdayed, they found out about an abandoned outpost/station in 0.0 and they moved there
Some people are clueless. I was with the BRUCE fleet. (My plated, tri mark rigged mega survived the doomsday btw)
The fleet was heading out to Fountain to take the outpost when MC jumped their Titan in. They had to fight a war in their main systems at the same time as take an outpost and still did it. And it was more a 400 pilot fleet initialy not 200.

BRUCE show very impressive defensive ability and capability to assemble a sizable fleet (60-90) within 15 minute notice. What's more impressive is that they appear to have a solid FC structure able to keep their forces in check and commit to the strategy they have chosen to engage with no matter losses.
Sure -- their tactics lack pilot experience still to execute flawlessly, but that happens to any force from time to time until everyone sharpens up.
We're doing our bit to help them sharpen their teeth & tactics when someone who's actually interested in soverenity comes knocking .
Kinda remind me of the old FA when we (CA) would take roaming gangs there. They did a great job of logging in getting numbers up a limiting what we wanted to do.

I don't think there was anything veiled about it. If bruce wants to come help fight bob..then I'll be glad to give them standings and work with them, as I've always been.
If anybody has a lot to gain/lose based on the outcome of the war with bob it most certainly is BRUCE. If bob is not destroyed, then once they are done clearing out delve, querious, and period basis, then they'll have to reclaim their old cash cow: fountain. And with no allies to help them BRUCE will either get pushed out, or be forced into slavery. There is no other possible outcome. All of their efforts to work on 'defense' in fountain will accomplish nothing, in this case, as in many cases, the best defense is a good offense.

Pity about BRUCE. Seriously, I am sure they are going to face some serious challenges. For all my issues with the cult that is the leadership of BRUCE I doubt they'll fold. I expect for many BRUCE corps they will become "bum optimal", most unfun and some will leave.

Originally by: Murtala MC, using non-cap ships and often out-numbered, pwned BRUCE when they were in Syndicate. BRUCE apparently was very scared of MC cap fleet so they spent most of the MC/BRUCE war docked up even if they outnumbered MC 10-1 in local.
Admittedly, there fears were realised when they did manage to rally a massive 200 man fleet against MC and in got Doomsdayed.
After there fleet got doomsdayed, they found out about an abandoned outpost/station in 0.0 and they moved there. No, they did not build or fight for the outpost.
If they could not handle a small alliance like MC on the edge of empire, it stands to reason they won't be able to withstand an assault by any major force deep in 0.0.
Really? I remember reading at that time most regular members of bruce did think the giant op was to counter the MC war dec, but low and behold the leadership seen the chance to get out of NPC 0.0 and take thier first outpost by invading a bob pet outpost(rise). If you knew anything you would know bruce wasn't bothered much by the MC wardec, the doomsday way unavoidable and still didn't stop the main fleets objective of securing their new home and first outpost in fountain. |

Didn't they have + standings with the Coalition, after they rolled into Fountain and took U-S station? Coz everyone was clambering to have them as there friends and the Goons secured those standings. They then did 1 or 2 fights in Y-2 got smashed and then went back to doing there own thing in Fountain and putting Moon POS's down here there and everywhere. Once they had bunkered down Fountain under the guise of + standings with the Coalition then they did a standings reset to the coalition
and you want them back after they used you as meatshields for there own personal gain........hmmmm fair enough then

Yes, that is exactly what happened. BRUCE befriended the entire coalition and then said "take-backsies!" and reset all standings with anyone who helped them. Cause that's what BRUCE is known for, take-backsies. And then, get this, the coalition was like "that's totally cool." And then BRUCE was like, "Wait wait, we want to indian-trade our take-backsies and be friends again! Cause everyone else scares us." And the coalition was like "nuh uh! We don't want to be friends anymore! We're not going to try and take fountain back from you, even given your take-backsies." And BRUCE was all "But we want to be friends again! What if we make the super BoB angry? What if we awake the beast?" And the coalition was all like, "Too bad! You did a take-backsies and was all 'mine mine', so we're not friends anymore."
And that was that. --- () () (â;..;)â (")(") Fear the Evil Bunny! <^>((><))<^> |

Originally by: Aiolos Caci Let's face it, anyone who knocks BRUCE really never seen them in action. Let's compare a few entities trying to still hold some kind of presence in the South-West:
1. Goons, no comparison needed, with their new leader, total absence of any kind of plan except for "Yall go live in 319 and get slaughtered!", plus Suas as their military adviser equals unlimited LOLs for all involved and lots of crappy loot. I tried salvaging a goon can the other day and got an error message "Dude, for real!?"
2. Pathetic Legion, aka Arsemode Lamers. Incapable of doing anything but griefing a few lazy tired bums who don't care to check if the gate is camped. God bless you for doing what Darwin outlined in his lifetime achievement work.
3. IAC, I love those drunks, they bring carriers with no support to gates, asteroid belts. Fun people to fight against, too bad this slimy bastard TT screwed you in many ways. I'm gonna miss you guys.
4. MC, new leader without a plan. Summary of MC state of the union address: don't know if we're on the offensive; don't know if we're in defensive mode; the plans are there but I need to talk to FC's cause no one told me; another corp another titan leaving; we need to try and find some friends who won't laugh in our faces; public relations nightmare is being handled by someone, dunno anything about it; next question?
Am I missing anyone?
BRUCE people actually come out and fight. You bring 5, they'll chase ya with 20. You come with 15, they'll camp ya with 50, and they won't get bored in 5 minutes and go chasing butterflies in the yard (hi Goons). In all honesty I think BRUCE are fun to fight against. I have no idea what their capital capabilities are, but I guess we'll find out sooner or later
Love,
Aio

The order of events was: * Initially BoB and Goons (and much of the Southern Coalition) were hostile to us. * MC (then still a BoB ally) wardecced us and harrassed us in Syndicate. * We chose then to take GBC's station at U-S.. MC DDed us on the way to it. * After U-S was ours, Southern Coalition called us chill brosefs and we are set +. * BRUCE and North (especially Morsus Mihi) pummel the GBC in FOuntain. * North leaves for some boat violencing back home.
Currently, it seems the Southern coalition is taking a break to shoot each other (and SMASHKILL and BRUCE). Perhaps they will eventually tire of that, maybe not. It's a crazy Eve world.
