I dont want to say this but I guess I will. JF does have reason to partake in this post. They are always in the area and make the northern regions home. Also I am sure they will help us with patrols from time to time. I actually have seen them setting up blockades near tribute and vale to snag FE and friends.

It is pretty much as DB Preacher and RKK have declared "free space". I have flown warships back and forth through the regions for the past few days and beside a few misguided FE "passholder" contract miners (that we engaged) there is no enemy in theater.
I personally don't see a problem with the Pheonix Alliance press release since they publicly acknowledge the free space principle and clearly just want the ability to engage pirate and enemy alliance commerce raiders early in the territories around Venal.
That said I think that the PA leadership would be well advised to put a muzzle on some of their commentators here who appear over-eager to pick fights that don't need picking.
RKK and Celest and their allies in theatre have worked wonders to bring stability and open governance to the northern territories of Eve. And the Phoenix Alliance has benefited indirectly from this. Some respect paid to the fighters who achieved this would not go amiss.
As for the Curse Alliance claim on Tribute and Vale, well, its pretty laughable given that the regions are almost entirely empty. But since the FE was a CA satrapy and their dominions are likely claimed by the Dark Lord even so, its a viable casus beli if Curse want an excuse to attack the Phoenix Alliance and bring blood and death and carnage to the north once more.
Of course, I do think that if Curse take this step they will not have a easy fight.
Once upon a time we had a saying "venal is cursed" ... would be most entertaining if a flawed ambition to crush the PA in the north became a fresh victim to this tradition and the Curse alliance bled its last in a campaign of distant imperialism.

I dont think CA wants war with PA, in fact im 100% certain that we dont want war with PA.

things are hotting up, old allies should be united. I think the PA press release was a mistake though, not a good time.
RKK are well able to defend this area by themselves and should be left to do so.
As for CELES, we have no real interest in areas like this, and only wish to help our friends.
Havocide, what you said is correct, if F-E werent at another game, we wouldnt have came, we only ever brought a a few ships. It was never an invasion as the amazing maricheck quoted.
