Just when I think that I can do this job without losing my mind, I come across a rescue that just baffles me. It isn't that this resuce was any different, it is just that sometimes an anger rises in my spirit when I see how casual some capsuleers have become about discarding life as if it is garbage. 150 lives were saved and will be valued from this point on. They will never be sold again as slaves and they will not be dumped into space.

While our focus has been primarily on rescue and providing larger scale Matriculation Centers, we have been slow in the task of repatriation. In particular, we find the those previously categorized by their slaveholders as "Elite Slaves" have been particularly keen on returning to Republic space. We would like to thank NUVOS for arranging the repatriation of over 800 former Elite Slaves into the Republic. For the security of the former slaves, we have asked Edaine to not reveal even to us where they have been repatriated. We hope that this can be an ongoing arrangement as we have need. SANKOFA |

61 former slave were rescued just a little while ago at the beginning of my patrol shift. Again, I don't say it often enough that my crew is brave, compassionate and skilled. Today, while we approached the death can, we we targeted by a Tornado. A squeeze of the trigger and we would have been destroyed. The risk my crew takes is far greater than any I take. They are the true heroes of these rescues. The words, "rescue crew" have become a designation of great honor at our Matriculation Centers among our residents.

Two rescues this morning. It is always a particularly painful realization to see a tribesman turning on his own people. Today is also transportation day. The second rescue occurred while bringing detainees and hounds to our Center in Korama.

This rescue was conducted a very short while ago. I was flying an Ibis due to the War Dec, so the 29 had to be rescued in 2 groups of 24 and 5. During the rescue both Mensha Crow and Kal Gauss both entered their pods. However, they were not in the system where I was patrolling so there was no incident.

Two death cans at the same gate. 55 people live to see a new day and a new life. I just noticed that Mr. Crow and Mr. Gauss have gone out of pod, so Manwe and Ston can come out to play. I'll keep checking your patrol areas until I get War Dec'd, which will probably be soon.

114/5/12 18:12 35 souls rescued from a deathcan. I will be operating double shifts for a day or so. Elders Verin, Gladius, and Feanor from the Dresi Centers contacted me and requested Freighter assistance to transport a large number of liberated slaves from Khanid space tot he Dresi Centers. I forwarded the message to Manwe as he is the one with the ship and skills to fly it. The news is that NUVOS liberated another 680,000 former slaves from Khanid space. The Dresi Centers are preparing for their arrival. I will be checking on planetary water and food production later today to make sure that we are ready for the new arrivals.

Yesterday, our centers in Dresi and Aharalel received a large number of liberated slaves from the Khanid Kingdom. Elders Verin, Gladius, and Feanor and their staffs received them in the numbers outlined below. The Cottons and Greenhands were present to assist in the initial reception and care of the new arrivals. 5000 additional reception staff were ready at each center to help the new arrivals in the initial steps of Matriculation. Our thanks goes out to the Minmatar Corporation Freedom Extension for their assistance and additional resources in this effort.

Some periods of time are very slow in the rescue work that we do. We hope this is due to reduced volume of attempted slave trade between empires and not just to bad luck in missing those who are abandoned. This week was one such week until this morning. This group was rescue just a little while ago. I have brought them safely to our temp center. Soon we will see them on to one of the Dresi communities.

114/05/17, 18:45, two rescues were conducted. I not mentioned earlier that I finally got around to checking on planetary water production. It is quite ample and is exceeding our need at the moment. This is good as we can sell some of the excess to pay for the export tax that we have to pay to get the water off the planet.

I am beginning today a small change in the way I report some rescues. Pilots who abandon death cans thus encouraging other pilots to rescue those on board, wil not be listed by name under the wall of shame. Right or wrong, I wish to encourage even the least efforts that will lead to the saving of these lives abandoned in space. These rescues will be listed as this one below.

31 people were rescued from a death can this morning. Most of them had never met a capsuleer beofre let alone even heard of what a capsuleer is. Why should they? They were slaves. They only knew that a pilot was hired to take them into Caldari space and deliver them to a new master. That the pilot was a capsuleer was irrelevant. The first capsuleer these slaves personally met was me and they didn't even realize I was one. The world of these now free people will become much larger. The spark in their eyes to learn and become aware is present just as it is in all humans.
Truly, capsuleers are not gods or demi-gods or anything that approaches the divine. However, many are devils. The power given to capsuleers leans much more easily to evil than it does to good. The choice to do good with our power is more difficult and a far more lonely decision.
