The above shows how there is often a span of days between rescues. I'm sure we miss some and the Assist is not on patrol all the time. This is the mental reality that I was told I must live with. At the end of the day, we are glad to have rescued the ones we have rescued. Dr. Tahrmal Nalthkh CEO, DSTON Provost, DSTON Academic Learning Center Rescue Pilot |

115.12.28 18:37 Ulf Ragnarson 3 people
Can you "hate" someone to death?..."spite" someone to death?..."blame" someone to death?... "resent" someone to death...etc?
Medical research has shown that when we ourselves are hateful, spiteful, unforgiving, etc., it is quite unhealthy. But also we have all been "in the room" where there is hate, spite, unforgiveness, resentment... We have all felt that kind of energy. Depending on your bent; whether you are religious, spiritual, or decidedly neither, you will name it differently. Some will say that hate brings a negative spiritual power that can damage a person or even kill him. Others might say that there is a negative emotional energy. Others would simply say that the human can sense hate and reacts as we are evolved to react, by secreting epinephrine, raising blood pressure, secreting cholesterol, etc. If repeated often enough, this cycle can bring significant harm to the body.
However you see it, at the very least, when we hate we diminish our lives and the lives of those we hate if we have opportunity to express that hatred.
I bring this up because of a recent post describing physical torture that a fellow capsuleer endured. There was speculation that this torture was personal in nature. I want to remind all of us capsuleers that we may never raise a hand against another; we may never fire a weapon or launch a missile...but when we hate another using words, gestures, or even silence, we communicate a power that harms. We have weapons at our disposal that require no training to use but are ever with us. There is no safety switch to prevent us from hating other than our own decision not to.
Can you hate someone to death? I'm not sure I can prove that you can, but I'm pretty sure you can diminish someone's health through focused and expressed hatred, lack of forgiveness, resentment, and the like. Likewise, simple kindness can generate a marvelous health for the giver and receiver alike. Which will we chose today? The Disciples of Ston bid you peace |

Confiscation Report:
Drug Confiscation: 115.12.28 19:53 (18 Pure Synth Crash booster) Materials confiscation: 115.12.29 (30 Plutonium)
Atypical rescue scenarios are more dangerous to crew and ship than the typical scenario. In the first report above, we were distant enough from the gate to necessitate align and safepoint warp. Though almost always effective, it is more risky than gate activation followed by cloaked warp to station. We encounter the atypical situation most often when lightly armed vessels auto pilot to border crossings with passengers on board, are attacked, destroyed, salvaged and leave behind survivors. Typical evidence would include the presence of modules and materials typical of identifiable ships as is mentioned in the report.
Also...We regularly confiscate weapons, ammunition and dangerous drugs. However, we recently confiscated precursor materials as reported above. This is a first for us but something to keep an eye on in the future. The Disciples of Ston bid you peace |

In my last post I spoke about precursors. Almost if on que, yesterday while making a transportation run to Yulai, we confiscated a large cache of Thermonuclear Trigger Units and various other offensive items. Later while patrolling a battle zone looking for survivors, we confiscated a large number of combat drones from the battlefield along with smaller numbers of weapons and ammunition.
The rescue of 20 people from a deathcan also occurred while on the Yulai route. I apologize for not registering the pilot name as it was out of our usual patrol area and routine. These twenty we rescued in Diaderi and brought to Manwe's base in neighboring Tourier. The Disciples of Ston bid you peace |

I mention Ashokon because the vast majority of rescues in my zone are from Diaderi. Ashokon has seen only a couple. So far, unless Dr. Nalthkh has yet to report, we have seen no rescues in low security space. The crossings we are patrolling see very little traffic, but so far, they also been relatively safe to patrol and we have not been targeted or attacked in any way. Work on the Stratios will continue when I have a bit more time. The three of us are nearing agreement on a name for the new ship and will announce it as soon as all are on board. SANKOFA |

The new year has begun on a typical pace. We are glad to be rescuing those in need. Now to address another issue... Confiscations. I have been in conversation with others about this practice and the issues that go with it. Should we recycle or trash the arms we find? The problem with these practices is verification. Who says we have followed through and actually trashed or recycled the arms we collect? If we recycle, how can we possibly verify that we have actually done that and not sold the weapons and ammunition instead? All of the suggestions made and/or options we have considered, lack the element of verifiability.
Until a better solution is found, we will continue to confiscated and store all weapons and ammo we take. This storage will be indefinite. Our primary storage lockdown is in Baromab. Beginning now, DSTON will conduct verification tours upon request of those who legitimately want to test our integrity in this area. The advantage of this system is that if anyone inspect our lockdown, they will know what we have and that no item will ever be missing over time. Items will only be added. We are in the process yet of removing all non-offensive items from the Baromab lockdown to simplify and inspections made. I can be contacted directly should anyone wish to schedule and inspection. From time to time we make confiscations in distant systems and temporarily store elsewhere. When there is time, we consolidate to one lockdown. That's it in a nutshell.
Our goal is that neither DSTON, nor anyone else should ever profit from or use any of these weapons. The Disciples of Ston bid you peace |

We have a good spot under the Agri-dome at the Keep Center. It is a good, healthy place for newly rescued Matriculants to deal with their trauma, interact with other like them, and adjust to the expansion of future possibilities. After a thorough medical exam and evaluation, the 30 newly rescued people were brought to the community dining center. Their first community meal included the presence of the Mayflower crew, myself and members of the center triage team. We are the first people the new Matriculants interact with. The dining center can be chaotic and so the relaxed posture of my crew is often a tool to help the newly rescued to ease in. Its been an effective practice. The Disciples of Ston bid you peace |

Yesterday I was on regular patrol and received an FTL that a wrech had been found within four jumps of my position. It was reported that there were survivors on board but that there also was a significant presence of armed capsuleer vessels. The Mayflower responded, found the wreck and exercised normal align procedures before transfer. Escape was accomplished without being targeted. 30 Marines were rescue along with a pile of weapons.
Earlier today, we encountered the "free slaves" labeled deathcan that we sometimes see on patrols. Sometimes these are laid as traps. Though, this was within gate activation range and so the resuce was made without incident. We have also made misc. weapons confiscations. I don't always log them if we are busy with other things, but I reiterate that our weapons lockdown in Bahromab is open to inspection by interested parties. The Disciples of Ston bid you peace |

Rescues reported above. A Comment, I have not seen a agri-dome quite like the one I am currently using in Tourier for rescues performed in Diaderi. It is in the Proteque station and it is a world of itself. Our 500+ rescued are a tiny dot in the whole scope of this place, but we all seem welcome here. I am very satisfied with security and the quality of life available here.
As for the confiscation a few days ago, I have not had the time to yet sort through all that was picked up. If I get to it, I report the ISK worth of the weapons and offensive systems in the confiscation. SANKOFA |

Its been busy. At the conclusion of yesterday's major and time consuming action, 8 scientists were rescued from a gate trap set by a group of pirates. At about the turn of the hour I received word that I would need to take a few of Ston's patrols, so I headed up to Niarja and ran a couple shifts there. I left and headed back to Tourier once Tahrmal was enroute to Niarja. We'll prioritize these two areas for the next week until Development decides what to do.
I might comment that the rescue of the 8 scientists was part of a rescue/confiscation op that took a long time to complete. In multi-can cases, there is a right and a wrong way to go about it. You cannot be impatient especially when there are pirates eager to pop you. You learn to wait out timers on station or cloaked. If you are flagged, an experienced pirate can have you tackled to popped in seconds. I feel very bad for Ston. What happened is very regrettable all around. We need uniform and safe (relative) practices for these situations.
I will be volunteering to serve on the planning group to draw up uniform guidelines. In the mean-time I will refrain from all confiscations until cleared to resume. SANKOFA |

At least for the next 7 days and possibly longer, I have assumed patrol duties in at the Niarja/Kaaputenen crossing. Since the crew of the Assist has worked this area before, I will benefit from their past experience. Also, for the time being, no confiscations are being performed regardless of what we find. This is not to say that we will not resume that activity, but not until we have a uniform procedure outlined that covers as many scenarios as possible. Development has put Manwe in charge of that study. He has already told both Ston and myself that he will be recommending equipment/fitting changes as well as stricter flight operations procedures. In his words, "We will stop making exceptions when we think the risk is minimal. That is what killed the crew of the Mayflower." This report comes at the completion of one Diaderi-Zoohen run. Often, there is nothing. Today, there were two deathcans both in Diaderi and both right on the gate.
Progress is being made in the Development workgroup assigned with the task of working up uniform guidelines for both rescues and confiscations. Guidelines for confiscations with be much more conservative. We feel that if we are to do confiscations at all anymore, the risk to crew and ship has to be greatly reduced. SANKOFA |

Today, I saw firsthand how the C3SRC com channel can effect efficient and safe rescue operations. Two death cans we situated within gate range but out of range of each other. The safest procedure in those cases is to make one rescue followed by waiting out the timer to return for the second. Better yet is to have a second ship come in to rescue the second in case the can is unstable and near its expiration. The C3SRC enables that. Captain Ymladris was observed on the channel and contacted over a separate, secure channel and she was a mere four jumps out. This meant that the survivors could be rescued and brought to safety much quicker. Thank Captain Ymladris for your help. A special thanks comes from the 40 you rescued who lifted a glass to your honor at community meal this evening.

The information above represents work that I have undertaken during the time of my suspension thus far. Since Development charge me to do administrative work, I purposed to catch up with NUVOS regarding transfers that have been left undone. Along with this was also the need to establish a new Center in Tanoo to accommodate the 27,296 new Matriculants liberated by NUVOS most recently. I understand that in the same spirit of the Khanid Slavery Abolition Fund, they newly established the Ammatar Slavery Abolition Fund. We have been told to be prepared to activate both a high security system center(s) and low security system center(s). Along with signing transfer documents for each listed above, I will also be taking the DSS Journey to most of the systems to pick up the new residents and transport them to established centers.
When I return to Yulai, I have been told that a meeting has been scheduled with Development regarding further findings and what will be my duty assignment following the 7 days suspension.
For transports outside of the Amarr Empire, I have received permission to pilot the DSS Committere recently commissioned and fitted. This vessel will replace the Mayflower. The crew consists of Matriculation Center trained and commissioned medical and engineering staff. Any who wish to transfer to another crew will be allowed t do so anonymously. I anticipate that all transfers will be completed by the time the 7 days are up. The Disciples of Ston bid you peace |

I am happy to report these rescues and more than anything, that is what this work is about. But, be that as it may, I had two confiscation opportunities today that were very low risk, but I had to pass on both of them because of the current ban on confiscations. What is really irritating is that one of the crossings I patrol tends to see small arms drops on the opposite side due to customs regs. I know that when we confiscate that these guns will never end up in the street, never be in th hands of violent gangs, never in the hands of terrorists. It galled me to leave it.
We are getting close to a uniform policy in these matters, but calling the shot is not completely in my hands. Development has the final say. The scenario for both of these confiscations would have been well within the recommendations I will help present to Development. "Patience," I say to myself. SANKOFA |

Being the least experienced rescue pilot on the DSTON roster, I found this to be a very interesting and unexpected rescue. I wonder if the pilot panicked when receiving the illegal cargo notice and just jettisoned everyone. I does not make sense otherwise. We are providing for their needs at the Kaap center. As per policy, groups are kept separate until we can determine what happened, why they were jettisoned and their final disposition. All of these rescues took place in Diaderi as this system has been the most active overall in my patrol area. I have been able to spend some FTL conference time with Development. I and very encouraged with the direction we are heading. We are beginning to look at commissioning specialized equipment and crews designated for confiscation work. eventually we envision establishing dual equipped bases in distinct patrol zones with easily accessed and exchanged rescue and confiscation vessels. This is good news from my perspective but I can feel the frowns already from Tahrmal and Ston because there will be even more extended training requirements to fly the confiscation equipped vessels. Crews will be smaller than those in our rescue vessels.
We'll flesh out the details in the weeks to come. SANKOFA |

Rescue Report:
116.01.10 23:47 Brew Annages 15 rescued (attacked by Garypls Fink) 116.01.11 18:44 Ameer Sicol 14 rescued 116.01.11 21:39 Denzellian Ormand 64 rescued
Yesterday I had a rescue situation that put me a few thousand meters our of gate activation range even at maximum transfer range from the deathcan. We were able to make the rescue and then burn to the gate. However we were targeted and modules were activated on us. In spite of this, we escaped and also took no damage. 15 were rescued successfully. The other rescues were more routine scenarios.
I really should report this on the other thread, but our corporation has been contacted by another entity and asked to begin a feasibility study to found a unique kind of Matriculation Community. We are excited and a bit daunted over the task. In a few days, I should have opportunity to describe the study in greater detail and maybe even ask for feedback. 116.1.12 17:18 10 Elite Slaves saved both from the void of space and the clutches of these Disciples of Molok.
These ten Elite Slaves will not be sold. They will be stuffed with Vitoc, fitted with slave collars, and trained to serve in my own vessels in combat against the Minmatar Militia. And should they die in battle, they shall assuredly be admitted to Paradise (gleaming like the towers of Dam-Torsad), whence they shall look down upon their brethren, those "saved" by the Disciples of Molok, suffering eternal destruction in Abaddon, and they shall think, "O how holy thou art, O God, O how you are glorified in the destruction of the Wicked."
Note: planetside business may interfere with my ability to supervise Re-Enslavement operations in the near-term. I plead with fellow Amarr Loyalists to police these border crossings and save abandoned slaves not only from the void, but from the Wrath of God that awaits them should they fall into the hands of the Disciples of Ston. Amen. Amarr Victor. |

Rescue Report:
116.01.12 20:21 DRAGONSPAWN 25 rescued
We continue our patrols and find those needing rescue.
I am most happy to officially report cooperative initiative with NUVOS on two new project. The first is the Ammatar Slavery Abolition Fund (ASAF) and the second is the Resources for Freedom Fund. NUVOS began these two initiatives as a logical continuance of the Khanid project begun earlier. Both of these projects focus on using resources in those regions to fund the liberation of slaves languishing in Capsuleer slave markets across the systems. The third initiative in generically named to represent like work in the Amarr Empire as a whole and will focus on region by region, system by system. Our part, here at DSTON is to prepare Matriculation Centers in each of the areas targeted by NUVOS. As reported by Ston, the first fruit of this cooperative effort is a new Center in Tanoo. We will not always open new centers of established centers are nearby targeted systems. However, we anticipate, depending on the activity of the funds , that new centers will open. Rescue Report:
116.01.12 21:24 Byron Westminster 31 (Zoohen) 116.01.12 21:51 Gndleo Severasse 60 (10 Elite Slaves, 50 Slaves) (Girani-Fa)
I was surprised that two usually inactive systems saw rescues today. It reminds me why we take the time to patrol these areas even when they are usually quiet. 91 people were rescued. It is also good to hear the news about NUVOS. I've always thought larger scale work needs to be done. I look forward to seeing what they do, report, and how we work alongside. SANKOFA |
