My account has been hacked once. I even talked to the hacker who hacked my account with my alt-account. I dunno how it happend, cuz I never shared my account-info that i know of, and never used any special eve-program, buy isk etc etc, cuz I¦m not simply geeky enuf for it. So it can happen in really wierd ways...

Heretics is having the same problem, we haven't got to the bottom of it yet but we do know account hacking is involved. While I hope the best for Muffinfactory, I wouldn't have made a thread about it, it's really not a public matter. Good luck in anycase.

Unless Cranberry was buying ISK and got keylogged, he didn't deserve to have his account hacked. Nobody does. Had some disgruntled corp members stolen everything I'd be more like "lol assign roles better next time lol", but account hacking is over the line.

Pirate or not, account hacking is not cool. Not cool at all. So all those out there who say its karma or that he deserved it, you seem to forget that eve is a game, Mr Muffin' is playing by the rules, the guy who hacked his account is not.

Any you know this how?? Playing by the rules tends to net a negative in the "getting haxored" column. Most of the time if something like this happens it is due to a "miscalulation" on the victims part. IE: trusting someone they shouldn't have or doing something they shouldn't have been doing.

I sincerely doubt that Cranberry gave out access to ANYBODY. He's kind of a tightass that way. Its more likely that someone hacked his email account and got the passwords reset (he has a hotmail account, someone prob guessed his secret question).

That's crap. Getting corpripped IG would be one thing, as would losing all your ships to a Doomsday Boom or something. But having an account hacked is crap. I hope you get some decent reimbursement, tho finding the culprits might be harder if 'twas a keylogger laid ye low.
On that note, can everyone in the thread take a break from the flaming to go rotate their passwords, update their AV and antispyware, and patch their systems?

I agree that it "could" have been a trojan but the scenario is too precise for that to have happened *imho*, based on what the OP has stated were the sequence of events. I do not believe a random trojan infestation would provide the information and precise distribution of assets that has been reported. This was either a targetted attack and the OP was ill-prepared and nieve or the OP did somethign bad and brought this on himself.
Either way he gets no sympathy from me.
