First: this is an alt ...
After 2.5 years of playing, i have more than 40 bils cash and maybe 20 bils in assets.
Im an industrial / trader and i dont see reasons to go on in my preferred way of play.
I've even bought some T2 battleships and a jump freighter i dont need (just for the "new toy feel"), multi bills Caldari Navy Raven is getting dusty because missions are so boring.
My problem now is inflation, my billions are loosing worth.
PvP is funny, but i can loose PvP ships for the rest of my life and my wallet will not suffer that much.
Dear CCP, think about something that take ISKs out of game, "skill buying" or "standing buying" are ideas u should consider but you are free to think something else (it's your job).
---------------- Avoid "give me ISK" posts, i will not give hard earned ISK away ----------------

Edited by: Cergorach on 16/05/2008 17:54:16 You can already buy standing, just hire some folk that will run missions for you while adding you to their gang.
You can already buy skills, they are seeded on the market you know ;-p I think you mean 'skill time buying', I highly doubt that CCP will ever implement that, I sure hope they won't. I think that would really destroy the game.
Maybe you should make a little more cash, and buy/build a Titan with appropriate character. To be honest, you need to be a little more creative, think outside the box! I'm not going spell it out for you, but rest assured that I'll never come on to this forum complaining about the lack of things to spend isk on (unless of course I controll the majority of the EVE universe ;-)

If u rent a mission runner, you will raise standing with one faction and loose with another; i need my actual standing for R&D agents. I would pay a lot to use other R&D agents i dont have standing to.
Apart from that, a Titan could be a nice target for a PvPer, but an industrial / trader as i am im not interested.
Expensive stuff like Outpost or Titan aren't individual goals but corp-alliance 0,0 goals.
I'm a lone rich player moaning for lone goals other than seeing more bils in wallet every month.

Sounds like a miserly old man needs a visit from the ghosts of christmas past, present, and future. The "true meaning" of Eve is not just lone economic/market goals (which you seem to have won at), there's a sandbox. Play in it.

Erm, besides faction standing, it will also raise corp standing, standing with R&D agents is generally based on Corp standing, so you can pay folks to run missions for you with the appropriate corporations. When you do missions for corporations of other factions, generally your standing for the opposing faction decreases, not the opposing corp.
Now that's a valuable nugget of information, the kind you should pay for ;-)

Isk is power, ~60B isk buys you a lot of it... A Titan or an Outpost might need an Corp/Alliance to build/defend, but that doesn't mean that it can't be an individual's goal. Look at the mercenary Corps/Alliance. if you pay, they'll defend it...

Regardless of his method of play, his point still stands. There is way too much isk in the game.

I'd personally like to see all ships require fuel and maintenance. Adding not only an isk sink, but more consumables to the market to manufacture and trade.

I would say that there are to many EVE players hoarding isk, if they would spent it on some inventive (ad)ventures, then there wouldn't be 'too much' isk in the game. There are a lot of folk in EVE that lack creativity and want more consumption articles served up to them on a silver platter...

No, the OP has a point. There are to many faucets and not enough high end sinks to effectively tie that isk up or drain it out of the game.
ISK is hoarded because there is lack of anything to do with it.
I mean seriously.. what the heck am I supposed to do with 100+ bil in assets. Buy 100 obbies and give em away as a lottery?
I, and many others and many other alliances and corporations need a more effective and GRANDER way to sink our isk out of the game. |

Hire Amplify for two months, his payment is two Skill books, thus isk will be leaving the game. If you don't know anything creative to do with the guy, then I'm afraid that creativity isn't your strong suit...
Why not join up with a few other folk that have a 100b laying around and buy an ALliance and start your own Empire?

I care not for the politics of EVE and null and all it's denizens though while a vital component of EVE are of little interest to me.
I would much rather have grander projects that can be forayed in empire. Even if it meant I would get a null isk return and little benefit from it. Let me name a gate, name a station. Whatever.. I could care less but the standard major sinks at the moment are of little interest to me and quite a many other like me as well. |

Edited by: Berand on 16/05/2008 21:07:33 This is really a terrible problem to have! Personally I'm rather poor right now, since I haven't had much time to play and when I do play I want to go pvping... which is an isk sink... so if you would like I'll help take some off your hands.
In all seriousness, maybe transfer all your cash to me... er, to an alt. Then you can look at your wallet balance on your main and see you have 30 mil isk to work with, and see what comes up. Or try something out-of-the-box for your normal play, like low-sec piracy. Or get some friends and start an alliance. Or see if you can go teach industry at Eve University. Just try something different.
It doesn't sound like you necessarily have a problem with too much isk, rather you just have a problem with burnout. The only solutions to Eve Burnout are to quit for a bit, or try something totally new.
Either way, good luck.

Too much ISK in your wallet doesn't mean too much ISK in EVE.
If you really want to spend your ISKs, found and finance a corporation or two. Use your billions to enrich others by offering them employment at something that doesn't employee an ISK faucet. Be a philanthropist and encourage people in the MM part of MMOG by absorbing the financial risk of territorialism, or nationalism. Or run a "Brewster's Millions" style contest.
Or if you really believe that there is too much ISK in EVE, destroy yours. *** Si non adjuvas, noces (If you're not helping, you're hurting)

People often say that there is too much isk. Too many faucets not enough sinks.
People, however, seem to fail to prove that there is any serious inflation in Eve. They also seem fail to explain why this is bad for the game-experience in Eve.
Just because there is more ISK entering the system then leaving doesn't automatically mean that there is inflation. Just because there is inflation doesn't mean that the economy is crashing.

Edited by: Catherine Plume on 16/05/2008 22:37:51 compete with inflation investing your wealth in something that create an income. You don't need an isk sink, you need to consider that 40 Bil aslept in your wallet don't produce anything and aren't so much. earn 20 extra bil, purchase Titan bpo, research it to ME:1 or 2 then make copies. Meanwhile, as your wallet has been emptied, you'll have to work, again, to earn isks before to sell your titan bpcs :)

That would be cool.
For those that don't know what this means, There is a movie called Brewster's Millions in which the lead character had an inheritance with some stipulations.
He was given 30 million dollars and had to spend it all in 30 day and have nothing to show for it at the end and have complete track record of what he used the money on. If he succeeded he inherited, 300 million dollars.
Although the idea would be cool it would be relatively easy in EVE.

The only reason prices are kept in check is because prices are artificially held at bay by NPC goods. Once all NPC goods are removed.. trust me you'll wish they had done something sooner.

Blowing **** up does not make less ISK, it makes less stuff which means there's now even more ISK per unit stuff which further exacerbates the problem....

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I never changed faction standing by doing this. What I hear is to change faction standing, you have to do storyline or COSMOS missions, or shoot ships of the appropriate faction (in order to lose standing). But you can't lose standing by sharing in the reward for a kill mission. Maybe pirate factions are different?

Normal missions will only affect various corp standings and if you're in the system with the guy when he kills faction ships you're faction standing will accordingly change. So just getting credit for the mission won't help. You need either a certain level of standing with the RP corp plus decent faction standing to use the RP corp though if you have especially high corp standing they'll wave the faction part.

It wouldnt in any way hurt if CCP made "The Superstore", similar to todays LP stores except the only commodity involved was ISK.
If they added stuff like Golden ships, T3 ships (in advance, say you could fly around in them for half a year before they were launched ingame), T2 Faction ships and such. If they just started spitting isk sinks out their a** here and there would it really hurt anyone? Dreamworld scenario would be adding 7+ implants or better. Other things such as painting services would allso be cool. Beeing able to colour any ship in game in the colour of your choice for instance.
But especially the 7+ implants comes to mind though, would it really hurt anyone if they were implented costing say 1b\per?

That wouldn't fix things, only proper high-end industrial content will, but it would help a fair bit. Especially in the short-term. I've been calling for T2 BPO auctions (with the ISK going to the factions) since the beginning of the year. Throw in a few super rare navy ship auctions (to correspond with the launch of FW) and you could drain off a couple trillion ISK. Hell, they could even offer top end items like +7's and perhaps even top end officer mods at fixed ISK prices. All that ISK would just get replaced as more and more flows in without proper sinks but it would help things right now.

Not exact: you don't get the faction standing increae/loss of storylines when sharing missions gains in gang (unless you are the mission owner), You only get the corporate standing increase, so it is feasible to buy corporate standing that way.

How about dayly auctions for stuff like +7 implants or rare ships?
Imagine a ship only acessible through weekly auctions. The prices items like that could drain from the game would be pretty extreme.
edit: managed to write "imagine a sheep only acessible".. new typo for my sake.
