Just use your mission ship and resist up with booster or repair mods. With like 80+ resist I still get hit for 500 to 700 on some of the waves. Edit: Did not realize there was a level 2 version which one are you doing?

Mr Ignitious R.E.C.O.N. Insurgency	Posted - 2008.06.05 20:13:00 - [5] oh the ishtar can tank, but the pulses of death from recon 3 of 3 just destroy instantly, it doesn't have the buffer to tank it. I do everything else, the blockade is easy, the assault, etc, because dodging turret fire is easy

But unless you were using a nano'ed ishtar i wonder how you can get alpha'd. I always just use my mission battleship with hardeners from last mission. Then one armor repper can easily keep up with the damage.

I actualy thought of trying in a shutle but it looks like t die trying. One question: if shuttle gets popped, will the pod also be destroyed if u don't get out?
Fist1	Posted - 2008.06.05 21:23:00 - [14] Edited by: Fist1 on 05/06/2008 21:23:49 I use my drake with 2 large shield extenders, onmi tank amps, 2 SPR's and 2 BCU's only thing I do is remove 1 extender and add a T1 afterburner to get to the gate quicker(time is money after all) I warp out with 85% shield. IDK why its giving you guys such trouble. I think I make it out before the last wave, but still, I have 85% shield left right before the last wave hits and I warp out just in time.

What do you think of a myrm? i will also try a stabber cuz i have trained them up some Jesus lol, my Raven with 8k shields with about 70% resists accross the board does it w/o boosting a single time (It takes all 4 or 5 waves w/o dropping below 30% shield) Moar detail: Teh waves do: 4X800 (at 0% resists) NOTE: I'm not sure if there are 4 or 5 small waves. 1X3600 (at 0% resist) 6800 Damage altogether at 0% resists, so if you have more shield, armour or hull than 6800 (or more on all 3 combined) and 0% resists, you will survive that part. After the final big wave, there wont be any more damage. I've tried it in a shuttle but got instapopped by the first wave. The cloud wont damage your pod. I've tested that with 260M of implants at stake :P

Basically, can you use an MWD? The damage scales with your sig radius, I take far less damage on the vengeance than I do on bigger ships. I'm sure you can't use MWDs but if you could it would prolly be suicide.

Basically, can you use an MWD? It's deadspace. You get warped into a world of green hurt. Zoom to acceleration gate and use. And my experience has been that there's around 10 or so little waves. They start small, like 450 hp damage base (for a brutix-sized sig radius) and grow around 50 per wave. Then the big one is somewhere around 3600 as indicated above. You get plenty of warning for the last big wave so if you think you aren't going to make it, you should have time to warp out.

BtW, before anyone asks : no, you cannot activate the gate in your pod, so going in with a shuttle, and then using the pod to complete the mission can't be done. (I tried).

Goes something like 650m/s. That's more than enough speed to make it before the big wave hits as I had much lower nav skills when I first did the mission. But, yeah. These forums seriously need some indicator that the post has ended and the sig has started.

They do have nice resists however, and since this is omni-damage, no single gaping hole in your resists is too big a deal... you still have 3 other decent/good resists. The final wave does 3600 damage approximately, to 0 resists. For 3600 raw, omni-damage to kill you in an ishtar... well... at BASE armor and structure resists, you still would have had to be at like 40% armor for that wave to kill you. Why would you be flying around with either NO hardeners on/active, especially after you've seen yourself get nailed for a few hundred damage several times? Why would you not start repping your armor after these waves had knocked you down to under 50%? Why would you say "Please! Please, giant gas cloud of doom! Accept my ishtar as a sacrifice to your awesomeness!"?

While I admit that I'm awed that someone could lose a hac to this mission... your insight into the matter is something quite beneath "keen". Good for you. You have a ship that has 5x the raw shield HP an ishtar has, with approximately equal resists when you factor in the drake ship bonus, and big passive regen... and you didn't die! Well while we're at it... "Zomg! My raven can, like, run level 4 missions even though when I try them in my osprey I just die! Its like, wow! My raven only has 15k shield and faction hardeners! WHy do my cruiser die!!!!!"
