For a while now I had this crazy idea of the Ammatar navy upgrading Minmatar ships with Amarr technology and how those would then look like. So finally I got into the mood to patch together a Rifter out of several screenshots from Amarr frigates and the Coercer:
Behold the Ammatar Navy Rifter!
I know, it's not perfect, but I like it anyways.

First off, nice shot! Definately looks like it could be a faction ship.
I know it's a difficult perspective with the dutch angles you're working with, but if there was any way to mirror the texture for the Nacelles rather than repeat it, that would make it even better.
(oh, and to be nitpicky, arent' Ammatar engine trails blue?)

hmm something tells me:
It would have the low slots of the typical minmatar ship,
the mid slots of the average amarr an
the design would be kahnid :)
Yet still.. its hull would outshine every star beyond the sun...

Well, I used half an Executioner for the Nacelles. Not sure if there is actually a way to have it mirrored. And I'd have to warp the mirrored part the same way as the original, which sounds like quite the pita.
I used a laser fitted Rifter as a basis for the whole collage, hence the red trails. Tried to change them to blue but it messed up the background, so I kept them red. |

I was actually surprised at how well that came together. It looks a little stiched together but that cant really be avoided, beyond that looks great. |

it's pretty cool... but...
I would rotate the front bits 90 degrees so they are facing each other like the other amamr ships, that way it looks less unnatural and yet still like a rifter!

Then it would look too much like a Slicer, I tried to avoid that. Instead I attempted to imitate the front of the Rifter that went from thin to wide compared to the wide to thin the Executioner and Slicer have. First i thought "Woheeey, a new ship to fly with" but then i saw that its not ingame :(
Good idea though but would be better if its ingame, and the ship is worth it because there are no real ammatar ships.

Looks like a standard issue Rifter, except the Ammatar engineers also read the last three pages of the blueprint. They even painted the hull, which shows they have yet to learn a lot about Minmatar ship construction...

Thanks to the positive input I got motivated to do the Stabber.
I'm not quite sure about the solar sail but I kept it in anyways. The Stabber might not be overwhelmingly impressive but it maintains a 'fast' look, I'd say:
Behold the Ammatar Navy Stabber!
I used parts of the Augoror, Omen, Abaddon and Bestower to piece it together.

Inspiring work, Mr Abrazzar!
I really like the stabber. My opinion is that the Ammatar would probably use a modified inquisitor (slightly matarified, much armor chopped off) for their frigates.

To amplify what I'm shortly to say, know that I really, viscerally hate the regular Stabber from an aesthetic point of view. Even by Minmatar standards, it's wrong. It should never have flown - never even been. The engineers responsible for it should have been shot for such wanton disrespect to human eyes.
That said, this new, Ammatar Stabber... Can I have one?

So I was busy for a while and finally finished to patch together the Ammatar Navy Scythe. Used mostly Omen parts but also Arbitrator, Coercer, Shuttle, Maller and Augoror got used in this little cruiser. Now only the Tempest is missing to get amarrified, already trained up for it, only need to buy one.

Thanks for all the praise everyone ! You know how to keep one motivated.
I played around with the rifter a bit and made some pieces fit together better and made it brighter and shinier overall. It's not a big change, but I like that one better than the old one: Ammatar Navy Rifter Mk II
Currently I am getting some screenshots for the Tempest. Might have it finished sometime next week. Then I dunno what afterwards, maybe a minnified Inquisitor, a golden garbage can (Typhoon) or greenish black amarrified Caldari ships for Khanid Navy. Thukker Tribe ships would be quite similar to Minmatar, they don't really have a mixed influence iirc.

Ok, finally finished the Ammatar Navy Tempest. Took me a while, mainly because the Tempest is one ugly piece of ship. Alas, due to the original being a crooked, twisted and rusted shred of scrap metal, the re-designed version isn't a beauty either. 
Can't say, I didn't try my best.

So, what's next? Minnifying of Amarr ships, taking recent development of the Ammatar into account or ammarifying of Caldari ships for a bunch of Khanid Navy vessels? Or something completely different? (insert foot from the sky stomping random people)

How about Intaki syndicate variations on Gallente designs? A melding of Gallente/Caldari perhaps?

From what I've read so far the Intaki Syndicate isn't really influenced much by the Caldari State. They'd probably fly modified Gallente ships and not a mix of different racial designs.

Mordus Legion is heavily influenced by the Caldari State, originating from Intaki, so they could use caldarified Gallente ships. Maybe those would be turret heavy while Khanid is rocket heavy.
I'll probably use the Incursus for the frigate and stick for the rest with the ships used for faction ships, which would be the Exequror (eeww), Vexor (ECM Drone Ship?) and Megathrone (Armor Rhok?).
Only problem I have is that I can't fly Caldari battleships (yet). I need to make my own screenshots to get the light and perspective somewhat similar.

I LOVE the design for the Stabber. Can't give a verdict on the Tempest however, the link seems to be broken.
But overall, this is fantastic work Abrazzar. Though a little rough around the edges, the basic designs work wonderfully.

The Ammatar Rifter and Stabber make me drool, the Scythe is ok, the Tempest's wings/cooling panels need to be a bit less "gilded" and not look so clunky.
Nothing but admiration, though, for the creativity and work that went into these dream ships. Thanks for a look into the future! (hint,hint CCP)

As I am currently not able to fly Caldari battleships for making proper screenshots, I decided to minnify Amarr ships. It's actually easier to patch Minmatar ships together, considering they're not much more than heaps of scrap and duct tape anyways.

So, I was mining lately and thus had the time to fiddle around a bit more with conversions. Still not able to do the Caldari/Gallente thing, so I stick with minnifying Amarr ships. It so happened that the ship got a kinda bestial look on them, so I stuck with it. I already have a great idea of how to make the Armageddon, but until that is finished:

The Omen already looks kind of like a flayed vulture, maybe I can expand on that.
It feels like necromancy, killing hapless Amarr ships and then raise them again as unholy abominations.

I love seeing people contributing to the community like this (making wooden models, "clear Skies" movie etc.). I love the tempest as well as the front looks like the mandibles from the creatures in Starship Troopers or Cloverfield. It has a very alien / agressive edge to it that neither Minmatar or Amarr ships have. Well done!

I really like the idea of making different ships for the Ammatar - a combination of the 2 races technology. Some of it looks decent, but there is a big problem. It's not a unified look for the faction. You have just "switched looks" - now Minmatar ships looks like Amarr ships and the other way around.
Find a comon theme and apply to both Minmatar and Amarr ships, and it would be great.
The combinations are fun to look at tho

Behold the Ammatar Navy Omen!
Hope you like it. Shades are different than the other works as I got myself some application to fix the messed up gamma of my screen. I went on with the theme of 'Beasts in Space' with the minnified Amarr ships and I quite like the outcome personally.
It'll probably be a while until I'll get to work on the Ammatar Navy Apocalypse but I already have some idea for it.

I haven't really considered that. What I am doing is mostly cutting out parts of one ship and paste it on the original. I can't really draw and such a blending would require artistry skills that I don't possess.

And agree with Slithyss, the Tempest was my favourite also.
But the Stabber and Rifter not far behind. Yet the "minmatariefied" Punisher was neat, last the Omen as a vulture or even dinosaur a cool idea at the same time seemed funny to me, funny but not really one to fly.

The golden stabber is my favourite (does that sound like smut to anyone else?)
I think the photoshop work is really nice, and objectively i do like what you've done, however i'm not sure how you'd justify using the midas touch and turning dustbin and gaffer tape minnie wrecks into golden hallelujah's, yet taking ships that were already floating rods of gold and riveting corrugated tin and wingy bits to them. It doesn't make sense to me.
My personal next-step would be to look at distilling both extremes into something that took the best of both worlds (rather than a black and white swap) and created a look all of its own. Either that or tell a story of the evolution, from the mandate's first baby steps at incorporating amarr tech, to the cutting edge of their latest acheivements.
I hope you take the criticism as constructive, because i think it's a really interesting project, and what you've done so far is pretty awesome.

I'm pretty sure I've posted before that these are awesome. I'd like to add to that statement: Messing with the Omen is wrong. So very wrong. It still looks cool, but the sleek, sexy Omen hull is not to be defiled with wingy minmatar bits.

Well, couldn't have let it get locked due to old age and didn't want to bump it without anything new. So I kinda rushed this one. Not exactly what I had in mind but I think it still works.
Behold the Ammatar Navy Apocalypse!
Now with both sets complete this thread can go the way of all threads with its life fulfilled.
I might make a new thread with other conversions should I get a set together.

I gotta admit, they actually do look pretty cool. I really liked the Tempest. It looks more like a single ship, and less like a collection of scrap =P
The Apoc is actually pretty cool looking too.

Well, tbh, the Apocalypse was a bit too rushed. There are some perspective and color issues and maybe I should have used triangular instead of squared sails on the sides to look more like fins on some space beast.
