I¦d say ED-, when we in -A- tryed for a whole weekend to kill FIX¦s station egg. Insane fighing for hours, days on end. I think the total tally was in the area of 900(low guesstimate) sum ships lost that weekend in there. Crazy stuff.

1: The Invasion Of JQA Space:
This was awhile ago but it was JQA vs. KIA, Supremecy, and a few others. It was a grueling 4 hour fight and JQA pilots lost multiple battleships each. This was one of the funnest fights that I ever have been involved in. I think the system was VV in Syndicate?
2: Rumble in The Graveyard(U-Q):
One day I witnessed Xetic, SA, CFS, FA, and Atuk all come into U-Q with a 160 man fleet vs CA who had a 60 man fleet. We held our ground for 2 hours but the numbers ended up being too great. An epic battle for that time.
I hope some of you remember these fights. Things were different years ago less people playing the game meant not as big fleets but for that time these were 2 HUGE fights. I guess there are tons of epic fights that I missed out on. What are your picks?
Was in both of these battles as part of Supremacy and Omega Corp. I remember being in an inty tackling everything in range for hours on end in vv-v against JQA. IIRC their FC lost 4 battleships. I somehow survived.
In the graveyard fight i was in a scorpion next to the 3 bubbles we put up. I had to warp to a deadspace can 10 times to rearm my ship, and again somehow surviving. As i remember it the fight lasted well over 2 hours, more like 4-5, and CA held the field at the end as our reinforcements began to filter in. Duke Droklar logged in 2 minutes after the battle ended and was really annoyed to have missed the hardest fought battle the south had seen to that point. Corp chat/ts that evening was fun as people told their personal story to duke. |

1) FOE vs MC war. Was a good 2 weeks or so of constant small and larger scale pvp in the Obe/P3 area.
2) CA's invasion of Xetic. 500+ Xetic bs destroyed in 1 week in Immensea back in 04', need I say more? I flew a rifter(like a pro may I add) had to go 40 jumps 1 way to get back to Immensea.
Honorable mention goes to the TPS vs UNICOR fights.

Yea, KIA + IAC vs. 0utbreak on the 13th of May 2007. 0utbreaks first capital loss, everyone had a blast. 0utbreak showing why they had the reputation they had, some guys losing multiple ships but instead of sulking they brought bigger and bigger ships and eventually they held the field iirc.
Only sad thing was that the 0utbreak-guy frapsing it ran out of hdd-space after an hour or so ----------------------

for me was ya0 vs dark-rising, battle spanned 3 systems, lasted about 2 hours. great battle and lag free. many ships popped inc 7 caps and god knows how mnay bs (fair enough, nothing by recent standards, but still was fun)
highlight was a freindly dread blocking the undock port by going into siege

best fights involved:
-Immensea (i-ngi8 siege) - Maelstrom alliance newly built factory in Immensea, the region was defended by -M-/UCC/MAD and held against UNL/RA for a good 4 months. docked 4 jumps from the closest enemy station, surrounded by RSF forces. When ISS collapsed and LV lost most of Detorid, RSF sieged I-N. 4-5 days siege in wich a few industrial entities resisted to the RSF war machine. Station was lost when LV/MC withdrew the area leaving the poor pets to an obvious annihilation.

Edited by: Wesley Baird on 14/06/2008 01:05:33 For me, most fun due to the innovation and risk, was the 18man MDK BS fleet vs the 100 man Bruce fleet...MDK nothing but smartbombs...end result 97 kills, 1 loss...it was over fast...but was truly awesome to be part of.

The fight in RIT-A7 on the p8- gate vs RISE, Rise just kept coming back over and over and over again, some RISE guys lost 7 ships for example, after about 3 or so hours of fighting it was down to the point where people had long since run out of ammo and were tackling stuff as they went between wrecks checking for ammo, I was in a vaga that was in hull from the start of the fight and had managed to loot some hail from a wreck and was pretty much flying right up on top of people shoving a load of hail down their throats while being in a ball of flames from the structure fires.
Initially it was a 10 man PL hac / recon and 25 man TCF light roaming gang vs a lot of support and a bunch of capitals on a gate, when the Goons arrived we outnumbered them and managed to catch all 7 capitals that Rise had put on the gate, it was one helluva fight, there was probably 200 wrecks on that gate by the end.

Edited by: Evil Pookie on 14/06/2008 06:13:29 to everyone in this thread that said a large scale fleet fight was the best engagement they had ever been in. get a f'ing clue. being a drone, in a lagfest is not anything to be proud of. you should be ashamed for being unable to think for yourself and ccp should be ashamed of themselves for allowing ******** game play to occur.
this one time, 5 of us engaged a 85 man iron gatecamp in ec-p. we did the hit and fade thing for about 15 mins, killed about 15 of them before they pulled out. we lost nothing, wasnt the best fight i have ever had, but it was probably the most embarrising fight for our oponents that i have been involved in.
one time we camped m-o for 11 days and got over 1000 kills (good times good times)

Long drawn out fights are fun, more fun than short quick fights or ganks, also calm down before you have a stroke or something.

One of the best fights i've ever had was in deklein when Triumvirate. was taking YA0 , when the night got quiet me and a friend went for a roam in our maledictions (before the khanid change) and we found a drake and a brutix in a belt, they were ratting but they've killed off the spawn by the time we arrived into the belt. After 30 minutes of warping in and out and shooting them we finally killed both of them with no losses.
2 inties vs 2 bc's - one of the most fun fights ive ever had
another time was in the drone regions me and the same friend , me in a malediction , he was in a nano curse, vs. geddon, hurricane, thorax - killed em all , no losses
another was when Tri was taking down a spartan cyno jammer, that was a lot of fun for me sniping people (i just enjoy sniper fleet fights that aren't too laggy) the lag was bareable , got tons of kills , mission was accomplished (killed cynojammer) then eve crashed and reset the cynojammer health
but small scale pvp is way more fun than the fleet stuff - i highly recommend small scale pvp

Nowadays the BE style of fleet fights is the best due to the fact that there is just so many people that its just massive lag blob vrs massive blob. I had tons of fun with the 10man F-E gang camping BWF / 8MG for a month against the 1500 man Storm Armada alliance, eventually resulting in their alliance disbanding. However this thread isn't about small gang vs fleet fights. I just feel bad for everyone saying "XXX system with 500 ppl vs 500ppl for 3 hrs" thinking to myself, you should have been around 3-5 years ago when you could get almost 0 lag 80v80 fights that lasted for hours, and the victor instead of being decided by lag and luck was decided by which fleet had the better players.

1. Our 20+ gangm when were in VC alliance, we were waiting for about 6 hours defending Hophib gate in D4KU, we put up about 20 bubbles up as we were bored as hell, then all of a sudden this random corp called 'outbreak' :) turns up and throws a 40 man gang at us. The best thing was they would covertops a warp in point and jump on a single ship, take loses and warp out, but they had like a SS with a few carriers supplying new ships, so we had a long engagement. Best fun ever!

too many to name, had some fun ones in the usual U-Q and around there with ATUK/SA vs CA (my pc was majorly **** back then so was more a slideshow for me but was still fun).
FE (corp)/FoE vs MC, vs BoB, vs G, vs Xetic, vs basically anyone; had a lot of fun during that time.
have to name my first one tho, when i was in a caracal as part of a CFS fleet (and all its allies etc that lived there) going to the help of SA vs c4 in paragon/esoteria - I just made lock range when some bships decided to kill me :( Torp caracal tho, was 4tw!

Fresh battle last night was one of the funniest ive had in a long time.
-A- come to F4R2 in catch with a 100+ man fleet, mostly nano hacs and recons, IAC deploy a defence fleet, within short time 150+ to counter the intruders, the first hour we slug it out at the IAC station, lag is bad, but still playable.
After the first hour, the battle breaks up, and we re-engage eatchother in one of the belts, another slug fest begins, in total almost 3 hour non stop combat, total isk loss to our foes was 12bill, IAC lost 10bill worth of ships that day, all conventional ships.
No smack in local, just pure fun, was an all round great fight, even the pilots that lost multible ships where laughing all night.
-A- thanks for bringing it, and as usual acting pros with no smack and being an exxelent foe to fight.
