JQA vs. Supremacy and friends was the first thing that popped into mind.
Longest fight I have ever been in to date. Back in the days when systems could handle 500+ people in local. Think I lost 2-3 ships in that fight, all ceptors and T1 frigs.
Even though we had our asses handed to us fighting against PVP corps, I had so much fun. Correct Toro, the system was VV-.
I like to remember it as the Industrial vs. PvP war, as we were mostly mission runners and industry peeps starting our 0.0 life. |

Edited by: Darpz on 05/08/2008 04:18:22 so many memorable fights.
my first real pvp campaign was the Xetic war. "the coalition" as we called it (Speicies, Mass, Collective, SGE + a few others all back in there prime) remember the few weeks of fun we had sparing with what would become ASCN.
I remember back to the Fix vs "the coalition" when we retook fat after fix's offensive into catch. was only something like 50vs50 but back then it seemed epic. its the first bubble camp I can remember ever. forget the name of the system but we (the coalition) setup a dozen bubbles on the gate, anded waited for hours for fix to jump into us, then later that night I remember sniping the fix fleet for hours with 3-4 BS doing drive bys as the fix fleet recaptured the station.
The CODA war was a fun last swan song for SA, everyone needs to fly under Xirt at some point its an "experience" I remember camping the 9cg station surrounded by what had to be 2 dozen bubbles. I also remember sieging the bob pos with 3 dreads and the nailing dynas moros when it slipped out of the pos.
back then a 50v50 was a huge deal, 100v100 epic. now its just another day. I think about the fights I get on a weekly bases since i've joined snigg and all of them larger in scale than they were back in the "good ole days" but they lack the epic feel. only thing that gets my heart pumping lately is a good hotdrop, and that useually passes when I am yet again caught in some super slowpaced turnbased RTS game trying to get my guns to activate on the tertiary before it dies.

this one time, 5 of us engaged a 85 man iron gatecamp in ec-p. we did the hit and fade thing for about 15 mins, killed about 15 of them before they pulled out. we lost nothing, wasnt the best fight i have ever had, but it was probably the most embarrising fight for our oponents that i have been involved in.
one time we camped m-o for 11 days and got over 1000 kills (good times good times)
Yes. This. I remember the most fun I've had fighting in eve was back when BE was still in infancy (when Fragm and friends first joined up). We never had any 5 vs 85, but I do remember many 5 vs 30 or so, nothing like being able to inflict losses and completely hammer the moral of an enemy fleet that outnumbers you in a ridiculous manner.
It makes me smile to see that BE is still at it on even bigger scales. ________________________________________________________________________________________

The seven hour fight for C9N three weeks ago was just amazing, easily the most fun I've had on any op in recent memory. Dualboxing a covops and a carrier made it pretty good, but I wish I'd added a third client with my battleship pilot as well.
The highlights were definitely HKKS warping his Archon to our deathstar by mistake (and dying before I could lock him ._.), Jaroslav probing out a Revelation ninety seconds later, and the SE/C0VEN/ATLAS caps cynoing out but forgetting to restront the last POS they had been trying to defend. XD

The only thing is half of Xetic didnt have MC blue so it devolved into a huge 3 way brawl that went on so long the cans were strewn out in a 400km line away from the station.
Back then there was not as much lag too.. you could actually manually move your ships through a 300 person fleet battle. The tactic BV had us use then was to burn straight through the enemy fleet while scramming the primary (due to different mechanics back then as scrams lasted 20s even if you went out of range) and then all targets in range .. warping out after reaching the other end of the fleet.
Flew rifters/vigils for most of that war. God dammn ravens were scary back then as they hit for full dmg.

1) The battle for BQ0 round I, the climax points being 2 SDG & 1 XIX mom killed followed through with an epic capital battle that saw a total of 71 friendly and hostile capitals destroyed (to date the most capitals going boom in a single engagement).
2) The fight or flight campaign in R-6 ethereal dawn home space; this was an epic week of constant engagements where a number of capitals followed by an ED mom were killed then the climax of goons, sdg and xix triple DD' one of our camps then we warped 80+ friendly caps on top of a tackler that managed to bump and point the goonswarm erebus which was promptly destroyed (relative to lag, local had peaked to over 600).
3) The dead-lock 9IZ battle between atlas/chaos vs ra/irc/ed/xix where we had 27 capitals pinned down by over 200 hostiles and we rep chained for 4 hours and downed over 100 enemy battleships while taking 4 capital losses in the subsequent withdraw attempt.
4) The battle of sahtogas between ATLAS vs Outbreak/Ev0ke & friends where 39 capitals in total went boom

Oki oki, noone mention it, so I do it. 1 bloody fountain bloody fountain: 0utbreak+celes vs 2 BoB corps, closerange all sluggish. Maybe 1 of the best fights ever in history. Lot of fun not much lag
CFS+DSMA vs FA in the old days, cant remember but hey, first real fights for me, and it was awsome.
KIA vs Rise in RIT area, Eddz insisted on RR BS gang after failure after failure, and finally it paid off, Think only eddz died and Rise took a beating. And after that it worked perfectly fight after fight
Honorble mention just for myself. Outbreak vs Imperium in Foutain, just joined Outbreak, I got the task after I managed not to keep mouth shut to bubble their fleet. I dident screaw up, I bubbled them, I jumped through the gate I lagged out, the boys slaughterd them, I missed all fun

This was probably, for me, the most awesome night of fleet battles (IIRC parimzan and BV were FC'ing that night). After the rumble in Obe, the same fleet moved back into 0.0 to stopped two seperate fleets in vale within half an hour. Awesome days. --------------

CFS/DSMA vs. FA in TPAR-G (long time ago 2004)
BoB vs. G/IRON we were 50 vs. 250 was one the greatest fights I had been in
BOB vs. G/IRON We(when I was in BOB) were around 100 against 150-200, funny thing is the system we fought in was inbetween 2 IRON/G stations, so they just kept on getting ships the whole time. So eventully we had to flee the field. I for one died lol

One of the most fun times was when I encountered some goons in Poitot, I was solo in my pilgrim and the following battle commenced : Goons! - Awesome scrap, that lasted some time, they managed to kill 1 of my hammerhead II drones though, hehe.
I thought they would never stop undocking, it was a bit hectic and I remember being really nervous when the swarm came out from the station again and again and again.
After killing 16 of them I decided ok its time to go cloaky cloaky as I needed some time to regen and recover from the adrenaline lol
Good times :D - Die faster damnit! |

One of the Omist station systems, possibly OOY. Enemy fleet outnumbered us ( GBC ) about 3-1. They jumped in eventually after an endless wait. Only about 2/3 of their fleet made it. We were then outnumbered 2-1. We had about 150, they had nearer 300.
All i saw was a complete mass of red, and thought we were getting hammered. Targets being called were just not going down due to lag. it went on for hours. When the dust settled there were twice as many hostile wrecks as friendly, so in all was a great victory.
I think the ZID battle would of been good, but I was lagged out after my wing commander warpe the whole wing out. When i cam back my overview was lagged too much and missed the brand new Goon MOM get killed

Two engagements that come to mind are:
1) MC + friends vs D¦ in L-C/C4C, especially the point where waagaa on TS tells everyone that the titan is still charging, TS spy tells his fleet ... D¦ jump in and Boom ... DD :). Waagaa's comment afterwards: Everyone say hello to our TS spy :)
2) Pure/Smashkill vs TRI in BWF, TRI were sieging the system for lulz and had several supercaps in the system so we decided to see what we could stir up. Pure jumped in BWF and warped to a smashkill POS where 4 MS were sitting just shooting stuff. We started to lock down the MS when TRI warped their BS fleet in at range, after killing most of them and being joined by smashkill forces in the meantime, we started grinding their MSs. Two warped out, including Darkness and we got the other two deep into structure before the node crashed and we found our BS's health regenned and no sign of the MSs ... Thanks for that CCP pffff

The fight I found most memorable happened back in the early days of TRI mk1. Nano was what we did every day and small gangs would race 40-50-60 jumps north and east from Venal. One such gang of 10 or so had moved into Vale and snagged a carrier ratting in a station system (JZV) and now Pure. were pouring supportgangs into that belt. Angel got on TS and called for backup and ppl. responded from all over Venal - 15-20 HAC- and reconpilots all started out on their own towards JZV. The calls for backup was getting somewhat frantic - they had all ready beat off 2 supportgangs but local was going up. I was still in Venal when Pure. warped 2 other carriers to the belt and 5 jumps out when the first, ratting carrier escaped , docked and logged off. The 2 other carriers were still in the belt and everything was thrown in to tackle them and that's where I think we took our first loss. The next 30 minutes was pure madness with now 25 TRI. in various nanoships beating off wave after wave of pure in whatever they could grab. I lost my drones in the first of such waves - a battleship fitted with smartbombs and stabs warped straight to the carriers - smart. So for the rest of the fight I was left with a light missile launcher and the nos on my curse I died as the last TRI ship in the final wave of would be rescuers. pointed down by a Lachesis and sniped out of the sky. 2 minutes later we cynoed Painballs carrier in and broke the tank of both carriers (Painball had forgotten to bring fuel for the returntrip so he was marooned in JZV the night over ) The final tally was 3 ships lost on our side, and 45 or so Pure. in a fight that lasted more than 40 minutes.

9CG, CODA vs Fix and Bob. Three solid days of listening to Xirt screaming on teamspeak and losing his rag due to the fact our fleet and TS was riddled with Bob spies, and their fleets would warp away every time we were aligned and a covops scout reported he had a good snipe spot on the Bob fleet - but when we did get fights they were ace! Must have been mid-2006. This was when a mothership was the centerpiece of your fleet and its fighters could blot out the sun without lagging the system to shit.
Spent the whole week in an inty, taking turns controlling the gates with fighters blaziing away.
I know I broke the rules and didnt state one specific battle, but it really was a true, one week siege that permanently hooked me on eve.

That system lit up like the red light district on the map for a week straight, huge fleets and I constantly thought I was looking and local filled with 800+ pilots. Smashkill fighting of entire MAD pact. And of course God's Army reeatedly warping us to 0.

The battle for MJ- was quite fun many many kills and not many caps involved good old BS on BS action.
How about BNX for some of the drone regioners, IRC+ED vs RK+Smash+Atlas+VI. Not so much battle for the system, but alot death. One of the largest cap battles.

----------
Best fleet battle i have ever been in. Lasted 3 days (friday, saturday, sunday) and was a hell of a fight, saturday had 650+ ships destroyed in that system. Before supercaps, when it actually hurt when you lost a carrier or dread. At the end of it all it was over 1000 ships destroyed in Querious.
I still pray i get a chance to be in another fight like that bloodbath. That battle and prohibition 1 is what got me hooked on EvE. NYC gets Rick Roll'd |

Fight was in NGM-OK Smashkill Atlas and Pure fleet of about 140 versus FREGE with 2 carriers and 80 or so BS plus support at the Sun.
It went on for about an hour but in the end we kept our caps and routed the fleet with heavy losses. I remember Big Russ said to us all "f%$! it, let's take em, I have this cap for fighting..." He jumped in then another Carrier jumped with him and we all warped in. It was a blast of a fight with a full range of ships BS support etc. At the time I was still a baby noob and flew frigs but what fun it was. I remember we depeleted many of our T1 ships against many many T2 ships by gathering another ship from station as we got popped.

Wow this thread has been a trip down memory lane.
My favorite fights from eve just for the pure scale and magnitude of events going on would be.. in chronological order:
Prohibition: The defense of G-7 from MC/FIX back when IAC only had 1 outpost and was living out of POS's. We surprised most of EVE by suviving that fight. Learned what it was to hold 0.0 and play with the big boys there.
Prohibition 2: Pretty much every large engagement when pos's came out. I remember the engagements with MC and ISS. Was something else following Chrystoph and Foo lead us around battling tooth and nail against Seleen and his minions.
The End of LV: JV1V just the scale of it all. Not much fun for me but being involved in such a massive assault.. its something that you never forge.
Outbreak: My first time ever leading a fleet over 50. TT wanted us to take on Outbreak in utopia. Lets just say ive never been so stressed out before. WE didnt end up winning the day but I think that was the most excitement ive had as an FC. Doing covert warp ins and trying my best to keep the fleet together. All the while knowing Outbreak had TS spies and we had no real chance of suprise. Watching real pros do PVP is always a learning experience.
49-. Wow, killing the MC mom and then killing the ISS moms. Was just hours and hours of non stop action both times. Cout Ts mom just on the edge of a grid made it really fun. heh that station always was oddly placed on the grid.
49-. When MC, Oddessy along with Iron and CVA plus KIA came down to play. Not really sure what was going on just remember the massive fight on the 4-0 gate that lasted forever. My hic took like 50k damage throughout the fight. What a battle. probs to KIA for jumping into that mess.
FAT FAT FAT Wow, holding onto FAT for 1 month against the combined GBC/MC/FIX/ISS group as they pounded on us. Was a major point of pride that we held on that long. Not really big on any single one fight but the whole month was just something else. Knowing your going to lose but fighting none the less making it to the next day.
5-n. I heard the stories and FCd some of it. Combined IAC goon Cap fleets stuck in a tower hics and titans on all sides.
It seems that some of my most memorable experiences in EVE have revolved around a few common trends. MC, BOB, and FIX.
My respect for them for keeping EVE exciting and changing has never really failed. I still have a soft spot in my heart for FIX. MC i hate you but i respect you, and very few in EVE will ever truely know what its like to face down a foe like you and stand to survive the day.
BOB.. well enough has been said about them.
Thundirr out.
