Going old school here:
1: The Invasion Of JQA Space:
This was awhile ago but it was JQA vs. KIA, Supremecy, and a few others. It was a grueling 4 hour fight and JQA pilots lost multiple battleships each. This was one of the funnest fights that I ever have been involved in. I think the system was VV in Syndicate?
2: Rumble in The Graveyard(U-Q):
One day I witnessed Xetic, SA, CFS, FA, and Atuk all come into U-Q with a 160 man fleet vs CA who had a 60 man fleet. We held our ground for 2 hours but the numbers ended up being too great. An epic battle for that time.
I hope some of you remember these fights. Things were different years ago less people playing the game meant not as big fleets but for that time these were 2 HUGE fights. I guess there are tons of epic fights that I missed out on. What are your picks? |

Sad or strange, I'm not certain; but win or lose all of my most memorable fights have been against BoB:
1. The CODA vs. BoB invasion of 9CG - My first time out under the 'command' of Xirt, I don't know how the hell he ended up in charge of a ~150 battleship sized fleet; but I will never forget his near-manic panting any time we were about to be engaged. Catching Dian with his a.ss hanging in the breeze, when losing a Moros meant something was a big highlight. I should look up the numbers, but I would guees that CODA lost 600-800 ships that weekend.
2. The ill-fated assault on F-T - Two separate NC fleets, mostly MM/RZR/PURE desperately trying to get into the fight, 20min jump lag into any system in the constellation; seemed every gate had 50+ GBC waiting behind it who had the grid loaded and bled us terribly. We never did make it into F-T, but we fought all the way to the doorstep, at which point the two fleets combined looked like a roaming BS gang. But damn what a hectic, brutal, and frustrating day.
3. The Battle of NOL - A scene that is often forgotten regarding the invasion of Delve, we did in fact dine on some of the fiercest fighting this game has likely ever seen; for three days solid, broken only by downtime in NOL. If Adj wasn't driving us by a BoB POS, then TWD was driving his crew by ours. If Trevorrezznik wasn't suiciding one of our fleets, Thol was trying to suicide his. Nonstop boat violence, the way its supposed to be played.
Tbh, the only downside to recounting this stuff is the nagging concern that I may have seen the best it has to offer already...

Edited by: rValdez5987 on 13/06/2008 17:02:34 Hmm, The F-T fight comes to mind
Another good one a bit more recent was in Stain region... I forget the system name, but RA+MASS were attacking SE+Coven at a pos, and our gang of 100+ GBC showed up... local was at around 450+ and RA cyno'd all of their capitals out. Snagged a few kills, but I must admit I have never seen anyone run that fast. Gridload wasn't too bad... 10 minutes after jumping in system I was able to warp to pos, to wait another 3 minutes to see anything... Whats funny is when I warped out to another gate after being targeted and lit up by some huggins, The gate rats nearly finished me off, because the lag coming out of warp was bad enough...
Good times good times...
I must admit though, my favorite fights are happening right now with Factional Warfare. Seeing fleets with a large number of frigates, cruisers, and battlecruisers, makes me remember the old days. |

This probably doesnt deserve to even be mentioned here, But my personal Favorite was when my Old Alliance, Stellar Legion, set a trap and hot dropped a AAA titan and 100+ man sniper fleet on the combined forces of OSS, NOTR, Huzzah, SWAT, and Decorum when they were trying to take out our POS. I just wish i couldve been on their TS when that cyno opened.
Other favorites include, The 49-u Siege back in my IAC days, aswell as the subsiquent alamos of 25-s and FAT-, Had a real nice fight in ED- as well

HF/NOTR/SWAT/OSS vs. Un-Nat/friends. Considering that the total number of pilots involved on all sides was probably around 2500 (if that), It was pre3 weeks of pretty much all day every day 40 on 40 fights, with 150 vs 150 fights every weekend ended up with around 3000+ total ships lose by all sides. per capital It was a very intense campaign. One of the best times of my EVE career, and a great surprise considering how small each entity was (no alliance had more than 500-600 people)
one side would lose a fleet, go home get a new one, come back fight, other side goes back for new ships, rinse and repeat

1 - Fighting off CODA in 9cg. Despite losing ma Moros I then took our quite out numbered fleet against the enemy and whittled them down until I could say "we're going in, and we ain't coming out". Best fight I've been in and commanded.
2 - Taking NOL / Delve from Fountain Alliance, this is where we created the "fly by". 10 BoB vs nearly one hundred enemy who were trying to cap NOL station, picking them off one by one and nearly losing Alex Capone on every warp-in until eventually the enemy just left (I don't think much was left in the station by that time).
3 - Take your pick of any number of fights in Geminate against UNICOR. People can say what they like about the "old" eve (pre-shiva) but them were the days of fights on a daily basis against foes that weren't napped with everyone around them (yes yes yes, we've also done it, we've learnt it makes it boring as hell). I still have the privilege of flying with and against pilots of those days and they continue to fight the good fight, regardless of odds.

I'll go really old school with two picks and then a little more recent with my third.
1. December 2004, BoB vs FE+Friends after the GNW in P3EN-E.
Outnumbered with FE jumping in yet more reinforcements and seeing only 10-15 BoB left on the field and DBP goes on TS "just charge straight at them!" so we did Great fights with 50-75 per side, manouvering over several hours and quite prolonged engagements, great weekend of fighting.
http://www.killboard.net/fleetbattle/4/ & http://www.killboard.net/fleetbattle/5/
2. 22nd November 2004, BoB vs CoD in LEK-N5 in Deklein.
CoD were set up on the gate with a number of bubbles around it, battleships at range and support on the gate (iirc bubbles were new in the game having been introduced a couple of months previously). Rather than just jumping our BS in and engaging we just sent our support in and those of us in BS had to just sit on the gate, waiting and listening to TS, whilst our support cleared theirs out. Outnumbered and outgunned our support just ripped theirs to pieces and cleared the way for our BS to jump in and clean up. That was the first fleet fight where I remembered thinking how much of an asset dedicated and specialised support pilots are. Funnily enough the only two BoB BS lost that day were my brother and I.
http://www.killboard.net/fleetbattle/815/
3. 7th December 2006, BoB vs ASCN when fighting over AZN-D2, ASCN's capital system.
ASCN struggled to deploy dreadnaughts against BoB's battle POS in AZN, which we'd put there purely to tempt them into fighting so we could beat them bloody and grind them down some more before taking the system. At about 2am on 7th December they finally engaged our tower with a small group of dreads and a large support fleet. The late night euro, US and Aussie crew from BoB fought a running battle against ASCN's support fleet well and truly outnumbered to begin with in an attempt to keep ASCN from reinforcing our tower. The fun thing about this fight for me was with both our own guys and ASCN expecting BoB to do drive-by passes on their BS fleet with our far smaller group of BS, we just went in at close range and stood and fought, very entertaining. Numbers look more even on the killboard fleet battle report as we had more people logging in and joining in over the duration of the fight than they did.

Edited by: Keflin Geard on 13/06/2008 19:11:24 I have been told by many that the 06 Invasion of XZH - D2 vs Goons was the best fleet fun they have had in Eve (infamous gridline pos)
Personally -
The first day of the P2 fight MC vs D2 (and all the allies on both sides) hours of fun.
So many from the last year itÆs hard to sort out.
The series of fights in 0OYZ-G (Feythabolis) Sep 07 GBC Vs Reds certainly ranks up near the top. Additionally, you could argue it was also the venue for the best fight that never happened. BoB POSs coming out of reinforced and 100+ caps and massive support fleets on either side of the 0OYZ/R97 gates. Redswarm declined to jump in, and who can blame them û but would have been epic if they had.
Many fights in Delve û particularly the NOL ones where the warÆs outcome was anybodyÆs guess.
For pure adrenalin rush û the infamous node crash fight in 49- (Catch). Shrike bubbled û 3 DDs û both sides pouring reinforcements in from the far corners of Eve.

I think that one was in 49-u. I remember jumping in, waiting 15 minutes, loading one friendly megathron, then alt tabbing to see screenshots posted on the forums of the battle so I could start flying towards shrike even though nothing was loaded.
Ship was unresponsive and I got tired of waiting so I just went to get lunch, came back and all I saw was the titan on my screen, my ship with zero armor/hull (but full shields since I had been dead so long but failed to load my pod and the natural regen had filled it up) and the nodecrash popup on my screen. Man I wish I had screenshotted that ******ation.

The sieges of QY6/NOL were pretty crazy, it was a straight up meatgrinder for about 2 weeks. Having suas go "**** it hit the jammer" in the face of hostile caps on the final QY6 jammer takedown as probably one of the most electric moments playing EVE for me, because there was no room for an "even" outcome, either we were all going to die or BoB was going to. That was my first experience with a do-or-die jammer takedown, had a couple since then (Hi insurgency!). The constant high-intensity fighting in NOL is what made me really stick to FCing, never seen carnage like that on a constant scale. ----------------

I agree, the fight in QY6 for the cyno jammer was great. BoB capitals remote repping the jammer with everything they had while RSF just kept shooting even though we were killing the dreads at a decent speed. Then when the cyno jammer finally goes down it was just too much for us and we had to bail but lost a mothership in the process. It was so nerve racking to see if we could hold the cyno jammer up with the combination of our remote reps and you losing dps as we killed you. Very good fight. |

Yeah, the ugly part of that fight was the debate to seige or not with our dreads, we lost prolly 10 min of very high damage b/c 2 outta 3 people disagreed on when to siege. :-( |

Also you didn't mention support fleet getting DD'ed and getting 1/2 wiped out and the insane battle that ensued at the gate's over the next hours as support fleets went in and out with resupplys it was just a out right crazy 3 or 4 hours. |
