MJ- for me also.
It was a great battle, no real cap involvement, just loads of battleships for the most part and most of the local was pretty good natured.
I was fc'ing the MADPACT side and it was really incredible how clear TS was and how well the gang ran for the most part considering how many different groups were in it.
On the first night I think we had about 300 in our gang which was great to see, the only problem was every step we took in EU tz was lost in US tz. That and the fact that after the third day I think everyone in MADPAT wanted to kill Imperial Order more than RK because of the state of their POS and total absence of any POS gunners
I turned up at short notice on day 1 in a ratting raven and was stuck in it all week :)

I would say that defence of JV1 has gotta be one of my favorites. It was that or the defence of 0-W and DG- in Detorid.
I was either tackling or jamming like mad. I also loved the hit and run strikes on goons that abu led. I also got on one of the funniest kills I have ever seen as well. where goons were shooting each other >< -------- I am Anti-Macro, I am Anti-Roadkill, I am Anti-Asshats. This is just personal standings, not those of any corps or alliances I may join.

ED-L9T, the second battle (FIX vs AAA), ED was the sight of the famous Easter Egg prior to this where FIX first fought SA and won, then BoB and lost the day along with the egg itself.
The second battle was by far a favorite, mainly due to both sides having a firm foothold in system and lines of reinforcement during the majority of the 3 days of battle. Only two jumps from Empire through 3FK, the nearest empire station in Badivefi is only 6 or so jumps away. FIX basing out of 9CG at the time were able to approach from two directions, and the side system of 9SBB connected to 3FK and ED creating some interesting opportunites. Couldn't ask for a more interesting backdrop.
End of day 1: 'It didn't hatch??? OMFG! AGAIN!?!?!' End of day 2: 'It didn't hatch AGAIN!... guys, I need sleep ' End of day 3: 'Intel Intel, FIX FTW!' Admentus
In my mind, it's one of the last great battles I got to participate in. Capitals were comparatively low in number, and of those that were present a healthy proportion of them were destroyed. If I recall it, 2 RA dreads during the first day when things were supremely hairy at the Egg itself, and 3 AAA carriers late in the second day when finally caught at a deep safe. Might have been 6 FIX carriers that were lost, but hard to recall, I'm sure a number of them were caught outside POS shields.
The real highlights were the extremely sweet and satisfying fleet battles... oh so many battles. A mention has to go to Zangief's Fighter Swarm starting on the second day when FIX had brought out approx. 25 carriers to assign fighters to over 60 support ships who then bounced off every celestial object in system in quick succession, picking up a tremendous selection of kills.
AAA had an excellent tactic of assigning clean up groups during fleet battles that would chase down those who warped out, they picked up many kills in this manner, but many ultimately fell victim to manic fighter bombing tactics.
The three days was simply put, glorious pvp variety. Name the type of engagement, it was fought in those three days.
The second battle of ED had over 1000 ships lost, the first around 800 in the space of two days. Between them, it's made ED the bloodiest fought system for creating a station in EVE. These days, its sees about 10 people in system at prime time.
I'm still a fan of AAA for that battle, as well as the many fights in the 49-U area they also provided prior to CODA. Running a very close second is fighting IAC, many very memorable battles with these guys.

Baranor, Portney, Kir Laeda and I have been fighting non stop since Beta the incredible force of Sansha in Stain.
let me tell you, it is something not appropriate for sensitive soul.
As of today, we have not been able to break their moral but the killboard looks good in our favor, check those stats:
TOTAL of 174,672 kills (with 42,824 BS kills) TOTAL LOSSES on our side: 29 (including 7 BSs)
Those numbers put us directly on the top of the Eve fighters list fighting the longest ever battle in Eve history.
The battle is still going on and the 3 of us have great hope removing the Sansha nation from Stain region very soon.
Please contact Baranor or Portney ingame for more details if you wish to participate to this epic ongoing battle.

Edited by: Lowa on 07/08/2008 13:14:09 Good thread!
1. Initial fight of the GNW; PA vs BoB (before they were called that) and F-E First large scale battle I experienced. I was, naturally, in a Black Bird. I survived.
2. Not a fight really, but it was the day/days before the above. CoD/FU had reset PA or something and was thinking of joining BoB side or just leaving PA behind, no big deal really these days. The big deal was when a large fleet of PA patrolled down the pipe towards EC- and we hit upon a equally large CoD/FU fleet that shows orange and in their midst a BoB ship, DBP or some such. We wanted to kill him ofc but we were told that any agression on that ship would put us to war. Both fleets travelled side by side over at least 10 jumps with the tention ever growing, I was shaking so badly.
3. MC vs FOE and the comment "This was close..." when a slight error in jump range occured and instead of dropping out at 60 we landed point blank range. Both fleets were so surprised it took seconds before any action and dispite our miss (or perhaps thanks to) the K/D was 2:2 on BS.
/Lowa - good thread, good memories

For me it has to be between the 2004 Omega Corp (curse alliance) VS The Collective (stain allaince) in a fight for the very first conquerable stations. This was back when ravens could fit cap power relays with no shield boost penalty and cruise missiles would mess up your alignment.
The battle raged for hours each day and the station switched hands until omega unveiled its cav ravens and then it was all over.
A close second was the PNQY 3 way. PL had come with a sniper fleet to fight Bruce and was doing so when BOB jumped in with a close range bs fleet. PL pulled off and opened convo with the Bruce FC we both agreed to a temporary NAP. BOB jumped into Bruce. Bruce's crappy rr BS fit aka "mark III" actually mattered at close range and then PL warped in at snipe range and started hitting BOB as well. **** followed.
Third is the night of HAC death when BOB thought they could play our game better than us and found out the hard way no one beats PL in a HAC fight. Shamis was really on that night and having flown wit both him, duke, and tholarim it left me with a real sense of what its like o fly with a great FC. ----------------------------------------------

Originally by: Eaiaden Fresh battle last night was one of the funniest ive had in a long time.
-A- come to F4R2 in catch with a 100+ man fleet, mostly nano hacs and recons, IAC deploy a defence fleet, within short time 150+ to counter the intruders, the first hour we slug it out at the IAC station, lag is bad, but still playable.
After the first hour, the battle breaks up, and we re-engage eatchother in one of the belts, another slug fest begins, in total almost 3 hour non stop combat, total isk loss to our foes was 12bill, IAC lost 10bill worth of ships that day, all conventional ships.
No smack in local, just pure fun, was an all round great fight, even the pilots that lost multible ships where laughing all night.
-A- thanks for bringing it, and as usual acting pros with no smack and being an exxelent foe to fight.
The recent battle in ZXIC is my favorite so far. IAC reinforces the tower -A- deployed with Vanguard in support, and right after the dreadnoughts leave the field, an -A- dictor pilot with Balls That Must Be Respected warps in and drops a bubble on the two Vanguard carriers that were aligning to warp (naturally, we couldn't use the cyno generator in MB- with the IAC capitals). A few minutes of furious combat ensues between the -A- HAC fleet and the POS bashing fleet while the two of us try to last out the bubbles, then several other dictors warp in right afterwards and drop more on us. Queen Raven gets her ship out by cynoing to Vanguard's cyno generator in the area in the short window between bubbles, while I opted to warp to the jump bridge, getting caught in another bubble aligning. I basically had to pull a Marko Ramius and align under cloak (why I wasn't locked up immediately, I have no idea), and wait for the second bubble to drop, then warped out underneath an impressive battle.
Its not the size of the engagement, its the nature of the battle that sticks out to me. In the event of an emergency, my ego may be used as a floatation device.

And yes, the "PA's last stand in 6nj"-movie is still today one of the few that shows basic fleet battle tactics at its best (and PA at its worst ) along with really good TS ("-Jammers! Cycle jam if possible!" ***). I still hold it up there with the best ever made. Good times!

MY most memorable fleet battle wasnt the battle itself but the events immediately after it. FIX and Co, had been fighting -A-, IAC, and everyone else it seemed down in 49-u for weeks. And one day after some decent fights we found ourselves all camped into the station (not exactly a rare occurence but we got our licks in too). When all of a sudden the IAC guys start begging us to come out of station with promises that they wouldnt shoot us (not in a "come here little noob" way). So we're all sitting there going "WTF" right, when someone found the fortitude to undock only to find....
IAC and FIX put down the guns for maybe an hour and a half in 49-u... And we made a conga line around the station...
and we made some nice breasts as well.
IAC, props. Always was fun to fight you guys, those truly were the good ole days.

Can't remember the system but it was a goon/AAA right at the gate with cap ships + fleet. Think this is where Suas lost his mom. It was a great fight that lasted quite a while.

Originally by: Necronomicon The taking down of the CoW POS in 9GNS in Syndicate for Goonswarm was also a highlight. We were lacking in capitals and the tower was well setup. We asked if GS could lend support.
Cue 200 goons throwing themselves repeatedly at the pos to draw fire. The cans stretched like a chain of pearls across 100km of space. When they died they just grabbed another frig/cruiser and did it again until the POS was down.
Was an amazing sight to behold, and one of the reasons why - as much as some of them wind me up by being terrible poasters - we love the bees.
Just a few corrections here, the system was Y9G and it was the final CoW POS left at the very end of Operation Revolver. I was the FC in charge of the whole operation and I gave the order for everyone to suicide their ships against the POS to divert fire away from the Dreads, because they got disconnected. (They were being multiboxed from the same house and lost their internet for a bit). Luckily it worked and the Dreads were saved. Back then they were all fitted out with Deadspace mods and stuff as well.
Only complaint I ever got from people were the fact that they couldn't get a warpin near the POS, and it is my proudest moment in EVE to this date.
