Earlier today a Caldari fleet lead by Boromor was roaming the black rise region. After killing several Gallente fleets (approx. 60-80 hostile ships were destroyed in the process) and camping Old Man Star (entrance system to Gallente highsec), Boromor came up with the idea to enter Gallente highsec with few tanked ships in a suicide op.
So some of us jumped in on top of a fully surprised gallente gang, ambushing them right in front of the eyes of their Navy, which showed up to assist. After some juicy kills of shocked gallente gatecampers, which contained expensive fitted t2 ships (example 1, example 2) and quite a lot of random t1 ships, everyone wanted more of that, like sharks that tasted blood, and Boromor had this nice idea to go to Gallente highsec in suicide-fitted caracal cruisers.
What happened then was the best eve action so far for many of us. A huge swarm of caracals, fitted with inertias, sensor boosters and tackling gear entered Gallente highsec and started an unprecedented terror campaign, warping from system to system, checking stations, belts and gates, killing surprised wartargets under the fire of the faction navy.
Gallente melitia members, that felt relatively safe in highsec before, were shocked and surprised, we killed battelships, command ships and even faction ships (example 1, example 2, example 3) during that operation, spreading fear and causing havoc in the core systems of the enemy.
Faction warfare is entering in a new phase here, the terror will not remain in low security battelgrounds, but will be brought to high security and the trade hubs, and the joy and enthusiasm many of us expirienced during that op, will for sure cause more of such ops.
So whenever you Gallentes go shopping in your main hubs, or up to a mining op in highsec, better watch your back, because the next "Shock and Awe" terrorsquad might be already in warp on top of you

hahahaha all those gallente who say "kills are all that matters" now have no more legs to stand on.
Turns out Gallente are the NEWB faction what a bunch of SCRUBS. Oh man the arrogance they displayed on the forums makes this post just priceless.

Caldari are using a ship that they can use in their stupid high groups.
Caracals.
Caracals have the highest volley damage of any tech 1 cruiser (I think) and if you aim 20+ Caracals at any target they're gonna feel it before they can react.
So, while I applaud your little tromp into my home region, when I sign up for FW prepare to have your little toy throwaway ships obliterated.

lol and gallente cry about imbalance. I think what faction warfare has shown is that Caldari has all the brains, balls, AND brawn.
GG Gallente, just like when you were all pirates the only kills you can get are 100 men on a gatecamp.

erm
You were going around in a gank fleet. I saw a few Gallente fleets around today as well (I haven't signed up for FW yet) and I will imagine they were doing their bit of blobbing too.
Keep in mind that anywhere in EVE, numbers will [almost always] win. 20+ ships vs 1 ship should be a very obvious outcome.
And as I said before, as player to player I think that is great that you guys went out and got some action. FW is all about promoting PVP and getting around doing your thing. But, the real good fight would be from finding a fleet your size, then THAT is a battle.
Otherwise 20 vs 1 is just a gank. I wouldn't even call it a skirmish.

Edited by: Robert Rosenberg on 19/06/2008 04:49:43 20 caracals is a large roaming gang, not even a blob. The fact that 20 caracals were able to smash a gallente gatecamp (with gallente NPC support), then go around killing all sorts of things while the gallente scurried like rats says something about the Gallente.
I am sure the gallente had 20 people that could go and stop it, but those 20 people all ran like roaches to their stations, and cried for 80 people because the gallente noobs only engage 4:1 minimum based on the Tama camps (Which is the extent of the gallente FW presence).
If I was gallente I would ragequit out of shame.

No, it's only says something about the ease with which fleets can go around busting gate camps with superior numbers of inferior ships. Heck, in the gatecamp busting example, the gatecamp was heavy assault cruisers versus battleships - three ravens and an ECM battleship versus an Ishtar!
Remind me again, how much larger is the Caldari FW faction than Goonswarm? How much larger than the Gallente FW faction?

Edited by: Robert Rosenberg on 19/06/2008 05:29:38 You cannot say "oh but we are so much smaller than the Caldari" when they only brought 20 caracals to this fight.
You lost THIS fight by being a bunch of cowardly, idiotic, poorly performing noobs.
And nothing you say can change that. There were no Hac's, no Ishtar's, no nothing elite. It was a bunch of noobs in Caracals and you "leet pvp proz" on Gallente all either ran or died. The real carebears are the ones who think a "fair fight" is their T2 nano gang vs. even numbers of t1 cruisers lol.

And at least three Ravens to tank the NPCs and a Scorpion (no idea of how it was fitted though).
This was an organised group that went on a blitzkrieg. Well done on the organisation and execution. Note that the Caldari force scored a few kills, then retreated before the Gallente could musterer a response. Making more of it than that is only stroking your e-peen.

I was on the first OP described (although regrettably was in the wrong shiptype to go to hisec that time); wish I could have made the second. We smashed a large gallente fleet on our way up to Villore. In addition to the ganks and hisec hijinks. |

Dude take a chill pill man (that is so 90s.) Listen, a lot of people here are getting their first few PVP experiences through faction warfare.
If you were 2 months old and a fleet of TWENTY SHIPS jumped in on you, catching you entirely off-guard and you may have been hauling/had fitted expensive things, I'm sure you'd book for the nearest safe or station too.
This goes for any race, not just the Gallente. Tell us vets who have been around for a while to our faces that we suck at "pvp leetz pwnzors" and we can set up a meet for 5 of us versus your fleet of Caracals.

Really guys? Is internet spaceships that important that you have to trash talk like that. I mean really do you have to bash a group of people who sign up for a side in faction warefare to get it up? I've got a game for you guys to play. Its called Outside World online.
Anyway, enough with the sarcasm. Its a game, the caldari fleet did a good job today. Much props to the caldari faction. Everyone who's getting angry about this sort of thing really needs to calm down and get a life...

I was caught out by a few ships entering Villore last night after returning from an operation that went badly (sadly this went badly mainly due to a huge lag spike that allowed us to do nothing when the fight started) but concidering that the Caldari would not engage the Gallente even when they had double the fleet numbers I find any word of Caldari bravery hard to belive, untill I saw the ships coming into Villore. I salute your act here maybe some pilots in the Caldari fleet will grow some balls after all, I really want to get the fights in win or lose (well I would like to win obviously) instead of watching huge fleets of Caldari the rush back to high sec or dock up the second they see any Gallente fleet that reaches half the Caldari numbers. Bring it on Caldari bring it on.

Yeah, this about sums up why gallente suck. You run away every time unless you have the perfect gang at the perfect time. You never take a long-shot. Caldari took a long shot and took a ballsey move by bringing their gang into high-sec.
You, however, will dock up unless you are 100% to win.
