I have stayed at teh hotel Vik as a player in 2006. It is about 2 minutes further from the FanFest site than the Hilton/Nordica, the breakfast bar was very nice (basic, but good selection) and nice rooms.
Recommended it to a friend last year and he was very happy with it. Not as nice or posh as the Hilton/Nordica but still very comfortable and relaxing.
Thanks Lingorm. I looked at the hilton but its out of my price range right now, so i think i'll book the Vik.

Even if you book some hotel more downtown it is not a problem. The city is very small and you can reach the site within 20-30 min walk from almost all hotel. I did this last year and was totally fine and very cheap. Although might be not the perfect choice for getting hammered and not finding the way back

Acording to Icelandic alcohol laws you have to be 18 to visit a place that serves alcohol and 20 something to drink... So sadly you'll have to wait untill next year if you havent turned 18 by the time of the Fan Fest...

Oh there'll allways be someone you can hang out with... Most of the players attending are quite social and friendly... Even your old enemies....
A question to Wrangler and company though, when will we be aivble to buy the actual tickets to the venue? I know its been asked before but you guys are really late this year!

No info re: Bookings from France.
That coupled with various other things means that I won't be making an appearance this year.
Hope you all have fun, and hopefully the opportunity will arrive next year.

Hilton Nordica is doing an very cheap deal at the moment if you book from the 4th onwards. roughly ú46 per person per night or ú77 for a twin room.
Thats what I have booked, and it gives me a couple days in Reykjavik prior to the Fanfest starting....

Originally by: Reptzo Any news or details on what the presentations will be about?? I assume you don't have detailed descriptions yet, but any kind of ideas, or at least when we might know??
Checking out the previous Fanfest pages may give you an idea but we will of course add more information on the Fanfest 2008 page regarding what will happen this year as we get closer to the Fanfest date.
Originally by: Phoenus Looking at the Fanfest Packages (which have been added over the last couple of weeks), there's no mention of a package from Paris, France this year.
Are there any plans to have one of these added? There was one last year, which a fair number of people used.
Icelandair has no plans to add a flight and hotel package from France this year, we would suggest getting a package from London and book flights to and from France yourself, but obviously we'll try to poke them a bit about this anyway.
Originally by: Mashie Saldana Yes, but what I tried to point out is that the Iceland Air packages from the UK only has Cabin Hotel and Loftleidir Icelandair Hotel to chose from, last year Park Inn and Nordica/Hilton were available as well.
We're looking into this but as we're not organizing these packages ourselves we can't make any promises.
Originally by: RedClaws I'm trying to find that Reykjavik map again with all the hotels & food places on it.
We're working on making a new map for this year.
Originally by: RU Sirius Another trip to Blue Lagoon at night. Please arrange for more hailstones, or was that the spray from the waves freezing before they hit your head? It was the most fun I've had, near naked, in hail, ever.
I'm glad you enjoyed it, I'm not sure if there will be a trip to the Blue Lagoon this year but maybe we can go the other way around and go swim in an active volcano?
Originally by: Ven Li any idea on whe the tickets come out???
We're currently working on this and we hope to have it out within the next few weeks.
Originally by: Cassy Dark Is it possible that you could serve beer instead of **** as last year? I still havent figured out why you had that danish **** when you have Gult...

Edited by: belzebub1 on 17/07/2008 11:32:11 While I am going to the fanfest again this year I am a little dissapointed at the packages for the UK. The package for Germany includes the Hilton Nordica hotel, but the package for UK does not. I am aware that CCP does not control the packages but you should have a level of incluence over them. Those of us who can afford the Hilton would prefer to book it all in one package rather than booking it all seperatly.
Cyas there folks for another great party Rgds

I don't think that there is a direct flight. Try something like: Romania - Frankfurt - Reikjavik or Romania - Amsterdam - Reikjavik or Romania - UK - Reikjavik
I hope this helps.

I'm from Kiruna, Sweden and we lies on 67" Latitude and Reykjavfk lies on 64" Latitude. We have pitch black at least 18-20 hours a day by then and I would guess Iceland aren't far from that. The nice thing is thats it never gets dark during the summer :) ___________________________________

Thanks, that should give me time to do some scenic photography.
Next question, I am trying to locate the building where the activities are to be held on a map. Does someone know the cross streets by it? And or is it the building in the park with the football fields? (Looking at a google map)
