If you compare the rate in witch EVE is growing with the respawningrate , NO. Asteroid belts takes to long to respawn. Remember that there are several big corporations that send fleets of Apocs/Armas and Megas to strippmine the belts in the higher sec systems. This is a factor that CCP did not reconcider i belive, they underestimated the capacity of EVEs players. IŠve been around in EVE since BETA and my first Corp cleaned out Rairomon system in less then a week.. not one roid were left behind before we went to the next system.
There will always be someway that you can take huge ships and completely stripp belts in Empire , and this is something CCP will have to adjust to. Last time i visited the n00bsystems there were more secure cans then there were roids, anything wrong with that !?.

they were probably nobs can though, I mean when you can fill up the largest secure can in a few minutes by yourself they become worthless and you can do that it a thorax.

Our corps noticed it aswell, seems our normal systems (0.4 + 0.3) arent respawning. I'm not sure if they arent respawning at all, but if they are its damn slow ------------------------------------------

CCP or mods please read this thread and comment.
It might not be a golden innovative tought, but asteroids and mining are damn important in Eve

That is my understanding of how the belts work. A belt has a maxium mass, and roids grow by a %age. Thus larger roids eat up more of the remaining growth.
To prove this, find a belt that is "broken", pop all the Veldspar that is the size of Texas, and then see of the other roids grow. |

They don't... I have tried that and for like a week... NOTHING happend... again.. Nothing ...
This is clearly something wrong here, either that GM's are aware of this but gives a **** about it and then it is on purpose... or they are working on it as we speak but either way CCP really really should let us know what happens.
If this is a attempt to get miners out in lower sec... then forget it, miners don't PvP and would much rater just not play.

Asteroids are definitely not respawning. There are now entire systems in Empire space that are almost devoid of roids.
Some response from CCP on this is crucial I feel - we need to know if this is intentional or not. This is a key part of the game and for it to suddenly change without warning or any kind of comment from CCP is very poor comunity liaison I feel.

Is there any need for a skilled MCSE with SQL experience for these kinds of jobs? I will work cheap:rumors, hints, and revealing questions, minimum of twice a week.

Ooooh! Please share with us the second you find anything out regarding this issue!
Our entire corp has since moved operations some 17 jumps away to find systems with belts worth mining again!

I mine everything in a belt, no "cherry-picking", and nothing comes back. If this was a planned move, it was very poorly planned. I enjoy mining, I don't enjoy spending half my gametime searching through 4 or 5 systems trying to find a roid field with something... anything at all in it.
It's broken! Please fix it...
The game is supposed to be fun, it's not fun searching for a rock to mine.

Are asteroid belts still respawning well for people?
I haven't had time to check out my usual mining belts... so was just curious.

Edited by: sableye on 30/05/2004 01:38:05 all the belts I visit have now respawned, I can even see omber and jaspet again :) but its too early for me to be completly sure that its working again, the only respawn I've seen was after downtime on friday.
Kinda makes you wonder how long it would take all of eve's belt's to be empty if nothing respawned.

Yeah i think they just kicked the roid pimp and made all belts spawn because we got 4 huge veldspars in one of our belts and tons of tiny little ones though the stripped belts around it have all shown signs of beutiful regrowth .
