this is just to vent copy of petition read from bottom to top I am afraid that I unfortunately cannot reset missions when the mission item has been lost due to normal game mechanics, which includes when another player has stolen it. Sorry that there isn't more I can do regarding this matter.
Best regards, GM Lelouch EVE Online Customer Support
that;s lousy they took the vips and i can't turn them over to my agent ; also i am pretty sure they were going to ransom them back to me cause someone tried to convo me but i will never pay ransom to THEIVES can you please reset mission so i can redo and get the goods
Hi there,
I am afraid that it is possible and intended to be possible for players to be able to scan out other players who are within mission areas. As for the canisters and wrecks, the ownership of these will always belong to the person who originally accepted the mission, regardless of who destroyed the NPC's to cause the wrecks to appear.
Best regards, GM Lelouch EVE Online Customer Support
i checked out the last room of mission and the wrecks and cans were left but they weren;t killed by me but yet the info on the can said it was mine sounds like an exploit because i didn;t kill or finish the mission
i couldn't finish mission objectives because of aholes scanned me down and finished it , and i couldn't retreive mission objective recovering 10 vips THIS IS BECOMING A VERY BIG PROBLEM FOR US MISSION RUNNERS they should not have access to our missions period this was also a important story line mission pleeeease can you help me out ?

In the time it took you to write this you could've cancelled the mission, took the standing hit and run another one to recover it.
People are allowed to steal mission objective loot, deal with it and/or don't mission out of popular mission hubs. |

Afaik, missions will normally be reset if that happens. I've seen it happen to a m8 once.
You probably just shouldve said that you can't find the mission loot and ask them to reset it.

You aren't allowed to post GM conversations in here, so that will get edited out. The fact is, somebody beat you to your mission item. This is the way the game works... you are never guaranteed the ability to play EVE "solo" and completely safe from other players. You should either have canceled the mission and done another one, or paid the ransom, or gone and killed the thief.
Or do as Hannes says and just lie and claim there was a bug in the system. GMs fall for that every day, to the immense frustration of thieves and ninjas everywhere.

Note also that if you have very high faction standings recovering the failed mission can take almost 100 storylines. In this scenario, if your mission specific item has been lost it is often possible to get same item from some lower level mission with alt and use it to turn in missions or even buy the needed specific item from some other local missionrunner who would lose less for failing that mission. |

i think you should escalate this to a senior GM and ask him to intervene as this has happened before to a friend of mine and his mission got reset.

More complicated than that AFAIK. Lore is that destroying mission item is griefing and will cause mission to be reset, while ransoming it is normal gameplay and does not warrant a reset. Do not expect a KB entry on such a hot topic, GMs like their variable geometry policies...
Tbh, mission thief are doing CCP a service, eventually the ******s missioning in overcrowded mission hubs will take the hint and start to spread out, which will go a long way toward solving the lag.
You cannot drop a quest in Dodixie without hitting 4 missioning BS, it's mission thief heaven. Between thieves and lags the mission runners still missioning there are really masochistic.

If it's really a big deal to you, I'd escalate it. People get their missions reset all the time when griefers come in and prevent them from being able to finish the mission by getting rid of the mission specific loot.

He said it was a storyline mission. If you fail or cancel those, you could take such a sever standings hit that you lose access to your agent, and drop one or two levels of agents, so recovery is not so simple as that. -- The Theorem Theorem: If If, Then Then --

Edited by: Dark Big on 30/06/2008 16:54:56 This may be a dumb thing to ask but will the mission not reset after down time? I have seen post about people farming missions, like the drone ones each day after down time. So does everything respawn after down time as long as you donĘt turn it in or cancel? |

Not if you complete the objective, alas. |

To put a damp on mission farming, if you want to farm World Collides or Angel Extra you are to at least not finish the last room. -- Heat, easy to burn your mods by mistake, hard to get it to work when you need it the most. Well designed interface CCP! |

Sounds like you made your choice then. If you've now decided that the standings hit wasn't worth not taking a convo from your ransomer, I'd suggest trying to contact them now.
You might also try asking in Local or in corp chat, or maybe even the WTB forum. I imagine it's rare for storylines, but sometimes people have an extra mission objective item they can be persuaded to give up.
Odds are fairly good it'll be another THEIVE though. * * * In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.

It seems odd that you shouldnt have to deal with the consequences if you are not prepared to pay the ransom.
Luckily the GM seems to think that too. |

i appreciate the empathy from most , it seems like players morals , or lack there of , are coming out in gameplay and it is really hard to share good experiences with people who seem to have this game as common ground , and i will admit i am still learning (the hard way),i paid ransom and still lost a billion dollar ship

ISK.
Btw, what kind of loot did you need to bring to your agent? You can actually get most of it from market or contracts.

This tbh...
And that's coming from a mission-***** (*), but I still think other players actions should be able to influence me - it's not a singleplayer-game after all :)
edit: silly me - didn't think of the filter - but let's just say I run a lot of missions :p --
