The Blinded	Posted - 2008.07.03 12:02:00 - [11] The funny part is - if you would do that, it would end up just like the chineese EVE server because of simple fact POSes are easy to put up and make (read low skill requirements) POSes are hard to destroy in a timely manner (read high skill requirements for its destruction and construction / flying of the ships used for that)

How soon until majority of BPO's were owned and used, and how long until you had a functioning market, with all the stuff you need. How many would rage/emoquit, even if it's all just pixels, as some people keep saying? If they made the Eve universe harsher while they're at it, that'd be great. No, not free noob ganks for all, not only a strongly reduced highsec, but make it so the elements are as likely to kill you as another player is. Have actual logistics play a huge part, as they do in the real world. Give ships ranges, fuel consumption, newtonian physics etc. You run out of fuel in deep space? Bye bye that clone, unless you can call for help in time. Give partial ship failures, so when you're at 1% hull, you'll be lucky just to get the ship docked in one piece, forget being able to fire your guns or pull high G maneuvers. Have multiple ways of attacking, maybe a bit "Nexus:Jupiter Incident" style, but more complex. Introduce multiple ways of travel, forget the silly gate/station chokepoints of today, have a lot of the universe unmapped, but some way to travel in it. Have scanners/listening posts that you can set up to detect incoming fleets, but leave a lot of room for detection and spying. Certainly no entire iuniverse star map statistics at the touch of a button. Introduce navigation, not as a simple skill to train to lvl 5, but as in you need to have some real life skill to do it, or at least allow advantages to those who do. Something like manual targetting in SilentHunter, but for navigation in space. Do away with the alt infestation, somehow. Yeah, I'm just exremely bored at work, for the second week in a row. And I guess I'm not really talking about Eve improvements here, but Eve 2....or 5. Seriously though, I'm not in favor of a reset. If they made Eve 2, separate server, more complex game, I'd go for it for sure.

There'd be a big rush at the start as everyone scrambles for 0.0 then things would eventually settle back to the way they are now, just with less ppl The alternative is to start a new server, but that'd break Eve's unique selling point that everyone is in the same universe / server

It would be a horrible future, they would control everything with their sheer numbers and those that didn't join would be hunted relentlessly until they quit or joined Goons. Most the alliances would still be together, the only difference would be the economy would be very erratic and T2 worth a huge amount of money, if it could be gotten at all due to invention and the complexity of manufacturing. A reset looks good on paper, but we've come too far for it to be feasible, it would be chaos and financial suicide for CCP to do this. They'd probably be more likely to cut and run than reset and deal with mass cacellations and general forum rabbleage it would cause. -------------------------------------------------- Everyone is born right handed, only the great over come it. Why, after playing since release and having invested so much money in subscriptions (for the past 5 years), should my account be reset to that of a new player ? Why in all thats holy should CCP even consider something like this for a persistent universe ? (TIP: Engage brain before typing on keyboard) --
