I am of the opinion that the loser in the fight should be the first to give a ôGFö in local, no matter if it really was a ôgood fightö (i.e., inbalanced, bubble, blobbed or whatever). If you got the drop on me, good on you.
Sometimes though, when I win a fight my opponent doesn't throw up a GF, even if it's 1v1 with similarly-classed ships and pretty even character age. I sit there waiting for it and sometimes want to say it but then I think it's gloating for the victor to say it first for some reason.
What do you think? Should the loser be the first to say it? Does it even matter who says it first? Am I over thinking this? Wait, don't answer that last one.

If you won saying "GF" = "Good fight"
If you lose saying "GF" = "Get f*cked"
Seriously though I suspect if someone's just been one-shotted or gang-ganked and had the floor-wiped with them, then they'll be stinging a bit, and don't want a chat. They just want to get docked up and have a little cry as oppose to a friendly chat in local.

After I win, when I do, I say "ROFL GF" or "gf lulz", stuff like that, sometimes adding the guy's name so the ppl in local know who he is.

I never say it regardless of I win or lose, from my point of view it will have been a bad fight for one of the parties, how can a fight you lost be a good fight?

I consider it good sportsmanship/gamesmanship to drop a GF whether it was actually a good one or not. Just out of respect.
Though mostly the people *I* end up killing don't want anything to do with that. After all I'm just s****and a RL degenerate anyways, right?

I have often said GF when I was on the losing end of an antimatter charge. Reason being: I usually learned something invaluable about ship fitting, combat technique, or just not to make a stupid mistake like that ever again.

Most people are very distrusting when I say I'm flying solo (I'm a bit too honest some times)... So it normally ends in a 3-1 or worse odds for me, but it's still good times...
