Just wanted to point out... When in the system view page and looking at the recent kills, if you click on the killed ship icon, the browser opens 2 new tabs to the eve-kill.net (using FF). Probably one for clicking the picture and one for clicking the row. Clicking anywhere else on the row only opens one tab. Cheers

Hi. I really like your maps. I was wondering if it was possible to get a PDF of plain black and white maps (like the jove maps) for all the regions?
I want to print them out on a black and white laser printer. I don't want to print things like sovereignty and other variables. same thing with some systems being coloured in etc (kind of pointless on a monochrome printer). |

o/ Wollari
I was perusing Alliance outpost holdings and noticed that Kenzoku is showing as having 49 AND 3BK (2 outpost systems)
http://evemaps.dotlan.net/alliance/KenZoku
but, if you then click on the 3bk link, it shows goons have 3BK
is that a glitch ?
i took screenshot in case it resets in the morning.
/i would like to kindly ask that everyone respect this thread as a valuable service provided by one of our fellow Eve players and not start trolling about this sov subject and the whole RKZ/OHGOD thing.
thanks Wollari for what you have put together

you can look it up ingame. The Station is really owned by TinFoil. Normally a station can only be contested if the system drops sovereignty or the current owner of the station is not the sov holder.
It could be possible that the station was still owned by Razor (which had sov here some weeks ago). Normally the owner has to shoot and capture the station before the station gets secured by the sovereigtny system. Perhabs Kenzuku took this opertunity :-)

What happend in the last months. Nothing much as I've much stuff to do in real life. But the newest addition to my intel manager project is worht to announce and show it. A Sovereignty forecast module to calculate sovereigty flipovers with the known starbases.
After the last battle in RK-Q51 the system is secured, and the forecast has changed. More informations can be found in the blog below.

Never get lost anymore
After about 2 weeks of many headaches about routing and path finding algorithms (A*) and browser issues (f**k IE), IĈm happy to be able to announce the new section on my evemaps page: Navigation.
This includes a jump planner for capital ships journeys including fuel consumption, a jump range tool to see what systems are in range (incl jump bridges) and last but not least a routing planner for gate to gate navigation. The routing planner has the ability to including possible jump bridg jumps and a calculation for the liquid ozone consumption. To able to visualize the jump and gate routes I also included a new map that will reflect the real New Eden layout additionally the routes are integrated into the already known maps.
Feel free to test it, break it and please give me feedback if everything is working as intended or if something is broken. Many thanks to all who I talked to while getting headaches and those who already tested it.
Here are some screenshots. Enjoy

You are truly great !! my deepest respect for you.
Just logged in on your test account for POS intel manager. and 1 thing springs to mind. have you remembered to calculate for summer and winter time ? Just clicked on reinforced and you can see when they come out of RF and what time it is. on the one saying EVE, hover over it and it says London / EVE time which is not correct. i.e now it is 12:00 London time, but 11:00 EVEtime :)
Just a observation.

Feature suggestion:
I would like to see a filter on this baby here. show only 0.0 systems or Low sec or all.
That would give a very nice tool for people to find nearest low sec from empire to 0.0 if needed.
http://evemaps.dotlan.net/jumprange/Ark,4/TP-RTO
On link above it can be confusing to see where to make a low sec jump point :)

I love the maps, tracking where an alliance is, who's grown, your site is great. One of the best resources I've come across.
My only request is, try to make your maps match up with Ombey maps. I know that would require a lot of changing, but I think most people, me for certain, are used to looking at Ombey. Its hard to figure out where I am and what links up with what looking at your maps.
Thanks for the great resource though! |

The timestamps should be all correct. I internally use GMT and then I'm using the system functions to switch timezones and let the system to the job to display the correct time. When there's written Eve/London then it's a bug :-) and just wrong labeld. But for EU people it shouldnt be a big problem to add 1 or 2 hours instead for our US/AU timezone people.

You would think so right ? but some people are not that clever, and i promise you, that some people will use your tool. look at where it says EVE TIME (London / EVE) and they will plan for that instead +1 hour ahead. hehe |

What a nice site! Good job!
Your map in SVG is a real accomplishement!
Suggestion:
In your wonderful stats page: http://evemaps.dotlan.net/stats/
You could add the most jumped and the most npc kill in 0.0/low sec/hi-sec system in the same philosophy than the most violent!
Keep the good job! |

Edited by: Wollari on 30/06/2009 13:31:14 In short i've simplified the top navigation a bit (merged menu entries) and created 2 new combined maps.
Blog: Site Navigation Update, New Map, Jumpbridge Maps
PDF Map: Vale of the Silent, Geminate Etherium Reach, Insmother
What about Jump Bridge Routes on those combined and the common region maps. Sure you can add them with a custom made URL. The syntax would be:
http://evemaps.dotlan.net/special/Vale-Geminate.pdf?path=<jumppath> http://evemaps.dotlan.net/pdf/Catch.pdf?path=<jumppath>
The path variable is using the same syntax of the route planer sys1:sys2::sys3::sys4 (: = Gate2Gate, :: = Jump To). Multiple jump bridge chains can be separated by , (Comma)
A full jump bridge map link would look like this:
http://evemaps.dotlan.net/special/Vale-Geminate.pdf?path=P3EN-E::0MV-4W::TVN-FM::T-ZWA1,Q-L07F::Y0-BVN::ZLZ-1Z::JZV-F4,EOA-ZC::39-DGG::K25-XD::P-E9GN (That's just an example and doesn't reflect the current situation)

Great Work!!
Now if I can offer some Ideas: * When you have users register, get their API and use it to determine their alliance/corp use that in conjunction with permissions assignable from the alliance holding corp to view/edit holdings (poses)
* Allow corps/alliances to map their JB networks and save them. Also display planet/moon of each one.
* When logged in allow members of alliances to plan a route using the jb network

The current version of the pos intel manager allows the import of DED Mails which is very helpfull because you'll never get all alliance member corporations together to share the biggest secret (full director api key) especially on a not self-hosted webpage. I know about the security stuff. Perhabs i'll add the POS API Import/Tracking features to the current intel manager. The login on the intel manager is not api-based but personal accounts for players assigned by the master user. API logins would be to complex if you start working on an multi alliance project like IRC/ED had full rights and other alliance had an user to only see reinforced posses or only read-only access.
Originally by: Dylan Chan * Allow corps/alliances to map their JB networks and save them. Also display planet/moon of each one.
Check my previous posting how to create jump maps. I know that i currently don't show planet/moons. I'll see how i can work this out. Atm I also don't really want to save this data on my webserver.
Originally by: Dylan Chan * When logged in allow members of alliances to plan a route using the jb network
Do i really want to save the jumpbridges? Then i'm responsible for the security of this data. I don't think that many alliances are wanna save their network in my database. Linking to dynamically generated JB Maps is one thing. Providing Access to Jumpbridge Data for Route planning is something different. I would have to check the users api with every login to make sure they don't switch corps/alliances, etc. Very nasty stuff.

Well you could add that information.. but then open source the code and allow people to host their own.. this would also allow you to have a lighter traffic load..

I would really like another way to view regions, instead of colored by sov, colored by sec status.
Example: http://www.raeky.com/Deklein.pdf
I would find that to be useful for whenever one needs to carebear in a system to have a quick reference for true sec status of a region visually with colors. Adding in other usefulness things like # of belts, ice belts present, etc... would be useful too. Along with the existing station info boxes.

I'm working on it, but there's not eta. I've to create a libary first that will allow me to create this universe map which is currently displayed using SVG/SWF using the FPDF libary.
In general it's not a big deal to draw the universe but when I'll zoom in and show only parts of the universe it's getting difficult to hide the stuff which outside of the viewport.
