Don't know if this has been posted but MWD'ing ships aren't any quicker to lock than when they aren't using MWD.

Joshua, I think that is intended to avoid unbalancing a Blasterthron getting locked instantly. It might just be intended to affect the turret tracking. I hope so.

Edited by: Caeneus on 20/06/2004 15:33:49 Well pretty much everything has been said, some modules do not stack.
The laser damage mod failed to add itself to my turrets damage, again fitting a second one didn't work. Only relogging and resetting the ship up made a difference.
All large turrets can't hit for ****, if they do hit they next to no damage. NPC ships are madness, we had 3 battleships pounding a 750K angel general and still we couldnt do any damage. Only when I dropped all my drones did some damage start being done.
The previous day we destroyed a Seraphin with just 2 battleships.
Turret mechanics and NPC hardness seems to be different everyday. I can't hit targets within my optimum range. Some NPC larger cruisers, like the arch angel was repairing and boosting itself ahead of the damage I could do from my geddon.
These are very important problems, I wonder if PVP is fun at all now. Incidently, my cruiser does more damage with its smaller turrets than my battleship, an example is my megabeams were doing 300 damage on a wrecking shot but my corp mate did 200 damage on his medium heavy beams. I have more invested in gunnery than he does.
I'm begining to lose patience CCP, as are many people. You need to replace peoples lost assets now. You also need to be honest about the patches, this particular one should not have been deployed and you knew this. Can we also get a status on the black ops frigates and the missing skills and everything else that was supposed to be in the patch but isn't.
Oh and the new modules don't work on the market which is just really pants.
Can't think of anything witty to put here. |

Sure my projectile turrets are now working like crap; and sure, i've had the shaky bug; and sure i've lost a ship due to dodgy missiles. But. I'm still willing to give CCP time to fix stuff.
Programming anything takes time. Fingers can only type so fast, and eyes can only work out where the kinks in the code are, so fast.
Relax people. It's only a game. Set big skills training, and go out and play in the sunshine for a while. ---

why oh why is the 'stuck upon undocking' bug STILL not on the known issues? Its a real pain in the arse. I captured its occurance using the client logging tool and emailed it to ccp, but they must have ignored it

Edited by: Caeneus on 20/06/2004 17:09:19 Edited by: Caeneus on 20/06/2004 17:08:18 Not that mate, I think we all understand and can take patches having a few errors in them. I am prepared to wait it out. But its 5 days now, with the patch scheduled for Tuesday (was Monday) will make it 7 days.
Thats 7 days of basically not being able to play the game. These are not small errors you can play around. They are worried about their precious weekends and not patching on them but fact is patching on the weekend wouldnt have made the game any less playable.
The really annoying point is I think they knew the patch was bug ridden but put it out anyway because of a minority of players (probably) screaming and whining now now now.
So 25% of my monthly fee is wasted and I bet we wont see extra days added for that, nor will be people get their items back from a number of bug related deaths.
No offence to Oveur as hes the only dev I see consistantly responding to the community despite the flak he takes. But CCP need to sit back and have a think about what they want and want the people who keep them employed want before doing things. The majority of people were prepared to wait a little longer for these changes, there was no rush for them.
If they want people to help test, I will easily do this. However there is never space on the test server.
This patch had some major changes and some (turned out to be very little) new content in them. I hate to think whats going to happen when/if Shiva comes around.
Can't think of anything witty to put here. |

I can honestly say I would not be bothered if it wasnt for the fact I'm paying for this. I have not been able to play Eve properly since last Tuesday. I just want it fixed so i can resume. I'm not interested how difficult programming is, just the same as I dont care how difficult it was for a mecahnic to change the tyre on my car. I just want it to work, and that is what I pay for.
Thankyou to the person who suggested Dxdiag to resolve the sound issue. I will try it. If it works I'll send CCp and email so that if and when they do decide to respond to this problem they can suggest it as a workaround.

Oh dude, turrets feel the same in pvp as they did before. It's just the NPCs I have problems with. I bet the majority haven't even tried pvp after the patch yet. lol

I've had twice today that my bookmarks won't load up together with the client. It's probably lag related, but I haven't experienced this in the prior builds... U have to relog to get them back, but kinda annoying to do that..
I must say.. this patch needs a lot of lovin |

Seems faction settings are still messed.
Today myself and a friend went to a belt to hunt some rats in curse space, we blew up a warlord and then warped back to station when a new spawn did the usual thing and spawned right ontop of us (that is so godamn annoying ccp)
We get to the station and sit outside for about 3 minutes while talking on teamspeak. my friend eventually clicks to dock and
"Saucette you have foolishly blah blah blah..."
and the sentry guns open up on her ship. She managed to get away ok though. i click dock and... dock no problem. WHAT ON EARTH?
Also the other day, a friend was on his own, not in a gang, and warped to a belt in an indy to collect some loot. pirate spawn and blew his indy up, no biggie he knew the risk. he goes back to station, docks in his pod, gets a shuttle and undocks to go get his items (using bookmarks set at distances so he can check for when rats leave)
He undocks... BOOM station blows him to pieces, WHAT? how come when he never fired on the pirates as he was in an INDY!?
i can maybe understand the other instance... but the indy/shuttle incident is just plain messed up. the fact the station doesent even shoot until you dock is also messed up, never mind the fact that it shoots at you at all.
Please turn this off its stupid. aso the directional stuff during combat is a joke, please put it back as it was as it just messes up the game, not adds to it.

Not that this is particulary important but it is amusing...the npc haulers for the corps (traders and such) for Caladari Corps, are sit outside the station all huddled together in a big ball.

reprocessing skills aren't considered at station ???
A station that got 30% + 19.5% base + refining+refining efficiency= maximum possible?
so it make like 49.5+30% so it 79.5% 20% waste (wo the 5% counting corp standing).

- Oldies & Goldies: Launching Defenders on a Megathron with Assault Launcher (I am positive it will happen on any ship with any launcher but did not check it) will slow down the ship a *lot*. With fast launchers you end up with an almost stationary ship. The most noticeable effect is that you can't warp away as the ship never reaches the warp speed even if you have the WARP DRIVE ACTIVE thing going on. The flip of the coin however, is that defenders work wonderfully well on fast launchers. Since you've been working hard on missiles I thought I should remind you about this one.
New one at least for me - Warping to belts and asteroids and NPCs are not loaded by the client. I see their missiles coming at me. It might happen when you switch ships in space, can't confirm this. Swapping ships in space after the bug fixed it, while jumping or relogging didn't.
Good patch guys, despite what the whin-o-meter says.

Edited by: JoCool on 21/06/2004 11:15:31 Jexter, I was told by Polaris to repackage the ship and it works too
Did you really simply swap your ship in space? Odd bug, but at least your method spares the wallet for insurance.

Edited by: Jexter on 21/06/2004 14:07:12 Actually Jo, I think that simply ejecting and re-boarding the ship fixed it for me. I tried jumping into another system and even logging off and relogging without any success. I know that ejecting helps it because I was at a safespot and I could not see the containers there. As soon as I ejected (which shuould be very similar to boarding a ship from a developer point of view I'd imagine) I saw them again.
EDIT: no just ejecting and re-boarding won't do the trick, just tried it.

I agree. It's just a lame "cheat" in order to make NPC's more "difficult" by making them "spawn" right next to you.
Remove this ability. NPC's already have insta-lock, infinite locking range, infinite cap/mwd, and do not need this lame tactic to be a challenge.
Make them tougher through more valid means than the insta-cloak gank.

First I get sick and tired of hearing people whine about spawn rates or rat strength. This stuff routinely changes with the current events, and should NOT be complained about nor expected to remain consistent.
Second, I'm gonna g out on a limb and assume your friend does a lot of fighting and has the warning about firing on an innocent disabled. This is just part of a bug I been posting for MONTHS about and have posted probably 10 times including 3 online bug reports and probably 2 off line ones. I lost many ships dut to this one. Its what I call the auto-target and fire bug. Look back at my posts to see the details, or mail me in-game. ____ If your not dyin' your not tryin'. |

Major annoyance:-
Fighting Goeol Spirit in HLW and i got within 2k of him, it took 30s to active my scrambler and webbifier aswell as my launchers, by which time i was into armour, i eventually killed him but still, 30s to activate modules ?!?! i tried them on NPCs and theres no problem...

WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG.
open your eyes, go back and read my post properly and come back and repost. i am not some n00b who just picked the game up yesterday kthnx, do not talk to me like i am one.
Now explain to me how you get a firing on innocent warning in 0.0 in an asteroid belt with just us in it and NPC's?
Also explain to me how "sensible" it is to be sat over200 freaking kilometers away from an asteroid belt, and see the rats instantly vanish from the belt infront of you (note, no warp off no traveling away) and a SECOND (read totaly different) Spawn appears right ontop of you, like 2km off your bow. when you are over 200km from the belt?????

Another one, this happened before the patch but now seems to happen more.
when using drones, after they kill their target they seem to get all giddy and randomly attack anything else they can, be it an asteroid, gang member, another innocent pilot, stations, anything.
stoopid drones, imagine you where in 0.4+ and used drones on rats, and some poor sap in the sme belt as you took a whackin from your drones because they got the red mist and decided he was target practice, concord would come in and ream you for it >_<

mission bookmarks are broken. sometimes warping to them at 60km will land you ontop of the rats.
after undocking and being shot at immediately, one cruise missle can kill a perfectly healthy frig.
new items like rails, cruiselauncher, ... are STILL not showing on the market.

Just a minor thing, really, but the mini-map (F11) doesn't show the new highway system's links. Example: Chaven doesn't show connection to Ashab.
