On the map thing, why not have the options as a pop-out from the map button on the left? that way they'd never be in the way. As for the F10 (I think) that brings it up, mabie make it configurable?
Still, great work CCP. I never go through Jita, but got caught in the 1400 people thing, just outa bad luck. So it all sounds great to me.

"The star map popup button (for switching between system, solarsystem and starmap) will now relocate surrounding windows correctly."
Your track record with relocating windows in the UI is not very impressive, why go down that path again? I foresee a UI cluster**** where windows explode, dissappear, teleport and hump eachother in a most unfavorable fashion... After 9 months of being a "!" face, I now discover that Im butt ugly instead... |

About the player limit... What happens if there is for example a HUGE fleetwar and in the beginning it has 50/50 of blue and reds. Then 80/20 and more people coming in. Would this mean that with enough attackers...you could simply block out people?
Another matter is the "you can choose the neighbour system" will that transfer all your assets, or only the... ship of choice? Pod?
It would kinda suck if you got podded, and then it tells you "sorry, you can't access any of your ships and you can't even enter the systems where your POS is being gangraped.

So another full day of dt (yes we learn from CCP's messups, why not extend it further maybe this time you will get it right) just to deploy a few insignificant changes?
Hmm.. or is there more cleaning up to do after last patches mess???? |

Originally by: Cardassius There is such thing as winter/summer time whereas GMT does not change. Maybe CCP already explains it in the faq of the site :)
Maybe they do, but after some of the posts being made during the last patch, it's fairly obvious that if such an explanation does exist, not everyone has read it ;-)
Having said that, it was actually oddly entertaining trying to explain the difference between BST and GMT to some people - maybe it's an e-peen thing ... "I know something you don't know". Maybe CCP should go the other way and advertise patch times using a "Timezone of the Month" ... each patch uses a different, randomly selected timezone, and to make things more interesting, they don't tell us which zone they've picked ;-)

Interesting idea about caping the # players in a system. I wonder if it will diminish Jita as the central trade hub by dispersion into other systems?
From the lecture CCP gave at the Austin GDC, JitaĘs rise to major trade hub status was a function of the number of jumps to lowsec/nosec in combination with player activity. It will be interesting to see if this patch changes things.

About the autopilot, can there be a way to set it without having to open the whole map page. It happens to me that I am traveling and I suddenly realize that I need to change my autopilot settings. It is quite a hassle to go F10, open the autopilot tab, and click on "prefer safer/shorter route". Can we have an easier way to change the autopilot settings? Maybe you can add it to the F11 map browser? Just a suggestion.
Also with the new 'Avoid System' system, can we have built-in setting like "avoid Galente space", or "avoid Caldari Space" , etc this would be great help for militia pilots. |

They found out some other issue while testing the fix and they decided to use the old version untill they resolve the new issue. So no 10.5.5 fix in this patch. |

Originally by: Loc Maythan There seems to be no information about the most important modification - the addition of a clock showing GMT to the EO website for those people in the UK who are confused about the difference between GMT and BST ;-)
I would suggest that this evening, players in the UK compare the time shown in-game against the time on their watches/clocks, and see that there *is* an hour difference. Remember this difference before thinking of posting tomorrow about the patch overrunning at 1600 BST (1500 GMT) ;-)
FYI, BST ends on Sun 26th Oct at 0100 GMT (0200 BST) after which, GMT (EVETime) and BST will be the same.
Loc.
GMT and BST will not be "the same" on that date, its just that everyone switches back to using GMT rather than BST.

Congratulations to the people who campaigned for a Jita bypass.
As with every patch, I ask when the EVE Online item database on the site will be updated. It's now 2 expansions or over a year out of date! |

I think now it already is a major trade hub, sheer market inertia means it would take more than this to knock Jita off its pedestal.

Some things just don't change :)
Any ideas if the item database will be updated when the forum revamp kicks in? If I'm not mistaken the item database (as everything else) works on Eve's own database (as the game itself). So how can the item database be out of date? I know it is, but how is that possible? You guys could also remove the screenshot etc. page, because it's broken (at least the fan part) and doesn't really give good PR for those that haven't yet figured out the state of PR in eve (we oldies already know it's...balls out)

Agreed on all points.
And as I always point out, the range bonus for the projectile ammo is the wrong way around on the item database, with EMP having a bonus of +50 according to the site. |

You are quite correct - it was a slip of the fingers on my part. I meant to type "British Time", but had typed "BST" so many times before that they did it again automatically.
My bad :-(

Yup! The last patch provoked much laughter from me about this.
I used to write software for the travel industry and most of our backend data sources reported local time only, so you had to understand timezones or you ended up sending people to the airport 24 hours early... or 24 hours late, which is even worse. Also if you take a fast jet east over the dateline it's just barely possible to land two days before you took off, that caught us out once. Ho ho. |

So where are the fixes to all the problems that have been entered in your database sinde AE release???
Do I hear overview totally f*ked up even after resetting settings, F11 solar system display still completely useless and messed up..... do I hear the very frequent disconnects on all clients at once!! (although I know CCP is deliberately doing this to relieve server load, they just kick connections... nice)... |

Why not set a cap on the number of different items that can be for sell in jita? The only reason people flood it is because you allow an unlimited number of items to be sold there.
Make 4 core market systems spread around instead of 1 giant system, limit the total number of different items that can be sold in a core market. Make it so people will spread out the market around EvE instead of dumping it into 1 area.

Great changes...
How does the autopilot react when we plot jumps through systems and while we are autopilotjumping encounter a system that is "capped" after we set the autopilot active? does it stop and continue later or does it stop completely? Varna CEO Synaptic Network II www.sn2.nl |
