If there weren't any carebears in EVE, WOW would certainly have a larger playerbase.

Edited by: Makhan on 16/10/2008 16:56:06 Bugger off, PvP has accounted for 90% of the previous expansions, it's more than time we had industry improvements.

no need to be so defensive guys. just admit that you have been continuously screwed over the years when it came to implementing features crucial for industry. now is you moment of joy.
but guess what, your income directly depends on PvP'ers. and we need incentive to continue playing, in the light of recent events the announcement of a new expansion where just about the only useful feature for us is some lousy weapon grouping... I can't help but ponder as to how many people have already left. well, quite a few, it seems. and if there's less of us, your profits will plummet.

Problem is that all those "pvp expansion" you so dislike did jack shit for pvp at all. PvP is the same as ever, it did not improve, probably its more stupid these days.

I'll pay you 2 isk for your non-PVP tears too then, just so you don't feel left out.

They wouldnt be happy either if they had to mine the ore themselves, refine it and build their ships before they could use in PvP...

Some would. Most "PvPers" though would start screaming for NPC sold ships. At least so have happend in other games where the producable items did not fill the market. And that would be the end of EVE online as we know it.

Just sayin', I think there's a larger overlap between "PvPer" and "Industrialist" than many people realise.
I also think some people don't realise that industrial activity can, and does go on outside hi-sec.

Yeah, how dare the non-combat types expect something or another.
Plenty of patches have focused on the combat side of EVE, throwing the industrial side a bone isn't the end of the world.

Of those 90% "expansions" included hundreds of nerfs to protect you carebears in your little sandbox. I for one welcome the speed nerf so you lazy Industrialist that autopilot your freighters in high sec will be that much easier of targets!! Yes it is still possible to kill you lazy ****s.
I think it is funny that all the carebear tears end up coming back to haunt them. The very thing they whine for ends up biting them in the ****ing as....can you guys say gate guns.

ok, let me get this straight.
you "welcome the speed nerf because freighters in high sec will be easier of targets".
yes, those cheeky nano freighters. a hundred million ton flying brick literally CANING IT along so fast at a mind boggling 100m/s your bullets just can't catch up!!!
I mean us indy pilots are literally THROWING OUR RATTLES OUT OF THE PRAM at the future inability to nano-fit the badger.

Yes it is just you. CCP has stated there is more to the expansion they'll tell everyone about in the near future. Stay tuned!
Granted pvp is a blast, but Eve offers a ton of things to do other than just pew pew. Either broaden your interests or quit complaining about carebears. Without carbears you'd have to fight others on equal ground.. hmmm.. so sad! :( ________________________________________________ When 900 years you reach, look as good you will! |

This patch boosts industry. Boosted industry means boosted ability to buy and consume combat modules. Boosted industry therefore means boosted PvP.
CCP has made no mention of adding additional protection to the "carebear" community, although personally I only consider chronic whiners and mission-only players to really be carebears. Industry types are essential to everyone.

I don't see how our income is changed through the ghost leveling being taken out, not like they are buying much from us when their account is inactive. However many end up quiting for whatever reason you can bet will be replaced with more people soon enough, were not going to get hurt from it.

0/10
The industrial part of EVE is as much a part of it as the combat side of it and deserves easily as much developer attention as the combat aspects of the game.

I'm a combat char and greatly support any buff to the industrialists. The industry side of the game, while not my thing, adds another level and enhances the feel of the huge, compex player run galaxy.
... Plus it means more targets.
