I had a few quirky problems too. Fortunately, the solution is simple.
Create a new API code and enter that new code into EVEMON. There is @ 10 minute delay, but EVEMON is now working great.

since the update my system crashed while down loading the patch ,i get a msg to uninstall eve and reinstall which has turned out to be a huge pain in the ass I cant seam to get it to work the clint download is curupt it says . have not been able to play Some one please help

Problem with two different Eve icons in the Games browser folder in Vista.
I have two icons in the Games folder in Vista, but I know why it's happening. I have the regular Eve folder and a test folder for Singularity inside the CCP folder (called EVETest) and that version is the one showing up in the Games browser with the eve.exe icon. The other ("official" game) appears with the "Trinity" cover.
Official game Test folder game that appears here Login of official client, with username on it. Login of test folder that appears when I use the second Eve icon, without username.
The test version can't be erased from the folder, but it can be hidden using the right button menu. ----

Yay! Finally got in! To anyone else who is using Windows and unable to get past verification of the installer step (receiving a message that numerous files are modified, corrupted, blah, blah please reinstall the client) what I did was uninstall EVE, search for any files with EVE content and remove them from the "C" drive, and then downloaded again from the official EVE page but using the link to the list of download managers. I used Orbit. Hope that helps. I am SOOOO glad I set a reeeeaaaaally long skill to train :)

When i jump through a gate it is taking between 10-30 seconds for the jump to complete, dragging a window will create lag, and scrolling local is a no no. trying to use the market creates lag also. It seems to be a progressive problem, if I relog it will run fine for around 10 minutes, then the lag will kick in.
It is also hit and miss as to wheather i will be able to see any ships/stargates, although this seems to be only in certain systems.
I have reinstalled EVE, but this did not fix it, please could this issue be fixed as it is destroying the gaming experience

jump clone bug causing me to log out then log back in to load new location.. its happend on 2 accounts, different 'puters..

Hmmm......sure seems to be a lot of silly problems out there. I got another one for you that hasnt really been touched on. When using an accel gate, and only accel gates, I get an immediate crash to desktop and a Virtual C++ runtime error....anyone else experience this or have a solution other than reinstall??

This reported on page 3 of this forum, I couldn't find an answer and the jump cloning is still not working. Can we get a confirmation that this bug is being looked at please?

I've been following this thread as I've experienced some fairly noticeable performance hits while attempting to run 2 clients... Nothing new to add from my standpoint - I'm still having to relog every 30 minutes or so. I'm curious though as I've not seen it stickied... Is there an official CCP known issues thread for QR? I see the feedback thread, and this the issue thread where we're reporting our player experiences - but nothing official as of yet. Well, that's not fair, I've seen a couple of Dev posts where they've talked about an issue or two, but isn't it common to see a listing of "known" issues? Or, maybe things that have been confirmed as an issue? Did I miss it? (I have been known to blatantly miss things right in front of my face...)

Dont know if anyone else is getting this but my ship keeps disapearing when i jump through a gate ship shimmers when i click to move off from the gate like its does normally then nothing. Cant see the ship but can see the modules jump through the next gate or dock/undock ship graphics reappear running nvida geforce 7900gts windows xp, unable to play eve so need help on this asap.

An error occured. unable to extract files from the patch archive. this might indicate that your hard disk is full or that there is a permission proble. try to restar your computer and run the patch again.. :( help plz. my hard disk have 50gb more free.

Classic clients, cache off (tried with low too), cleared cache few times. I get freezes on clients for up to 60-90 seconds when I get both characters on the same grid, performance is extremely low in most cases even when chars are in different places 
Had no problems before Quantum Rise.
EDIT: Running 2 separate client instances (installed in different folders), 2nd one with /end /LUA:OFF |

im sure it probaly has been posted allready but there is alot of pages to troll through so i will just post the bugs i have encounted
1. session change bug. Every gate, undock, Jump bridge or ship change leaves me lagged.
2. Perma cloaked ship. After a gate jump my ship some time appers cloaked even thogh it has no cloak fitted plus to others i am visable. As you can guess not the best thing to happen if you jump into a gate camp and try to wait out your timer. i can fight whilst this feature is happening it seems im the only one cloaked too.
plz fix or help me to fix

I had the horrible lag problem on docking and session changes, as well as the invisible ship.
I fixed it by uninstalling the client, manually erasing the cache and settings folders, all the logs, everything that eve put on my computer, installed client from scratch and it seems to work fine now

Why is there no official response to the issue of lag that has suddenly occurred for (given the entries on this forum alone) large numbers of players who had no such issues pre-release?
As far as I am concerned this is potentially a game breaking situation as after an hour or so the game is almmost unplayable. I have seen 2 official responses in another thread which simply repeat the mantra of updating drivers etc etc - what i have not seen is a reason why we should need to update drivers because of the changes made? I am bang up to date with all drivers and run a reasonable spec machine which handled 2 clients running at once without any issues pre-patch (both in premium). Now i can barely play one client for an hour before re-starting.
Given the numbers reporting similar issues I am astounded that there has not even been a formal thread to advise they are looking at this? Am I to believe we are all making these issues up?

My understanding is that if you have, for example, a Large Armor Repairer II with a cycle of 15 seconds, it takes a bit of cap every 15 seconds, and the cycle timer will take 15 seconds to do a full circle. If you stop the module, it should still finish the circle (15s) before switching off - the icon stops flashing.
What I am seeing is a LAR II starting a cycle - the timer circle starts drawing - but when I switch it off, the timer gets maybe 2/3rds of the way round before the icons stops flashing. As this point, the cycle timer clears as if the cycle has finished, and I can then restart the module.
Due to my skills and implants, my LAR cycle time is actually just over 10 seconds, and I am wondering if the cycle timer circle is being displayed based on the 15 second base duration instead of the actual duration of 10 seconds. Hence, the module is deactivating after 10 seconds while the cycle timer is only 2/3rds of the way to finishing. It is identical to what happens with a salvager if the salvage attempt is successful - the module deactivates immediately and the timer does not have to make it all the way round.
Or maybe it's a lag-artifact?
Has anyone else noticed this? Am I missing something?
I am largely unconcerned ;-) The cycle timers are a bit distracting if you have several racks of them running, and they don't actually tell me anything I've ever needed to know. However, if it is a bug, I'll report it.
On other changes:
- Looking forward to the Orca - Was annoyed by the loss of +2 WCS on blockade runners, until I fitted a covert ops cloak ... \o/ - Need to get my Occator out of mothballs now that it has a nice, shiny +2 WCS - Medals ... meh! Can't see me spending 5m to create one and 5m everytime I dish one out. - Certificates are too broad to be much use - losing 'points' because I specialise rather than generalise can't be right. - Implant changes are bloody annoying. I now have several expensive implants which can no longer be used because they a) now use the same slot and b) use the same slot as other implants. My Domi is now so slow that it is being overtaken by stationary objects ;-) This is certainly my least favourite change - I don't care about losing 3km/s with my interceptor, but 24m/s with the Domi is annoying. - Love the ability to switch off window snapping - quite possibly the only thing in QR that I think is worthwhile thus far. - Weapon grouping. I won't be using it in its current form as when I warp into a mission, I need to be able to shoot various target to get full aggro. When grouped, I can only fire all my weapons together, which is somewhat wasteful and time-consuming. I would want the ability to fire all my guns most of the time, but with the option of still firing weapons singly when there is a need. Maybe a keyboard shortcut to toggle into and out of grouped mode. - New stargates - why? But then I'm one of those people who puts function ahead of form - I fly a Domi, after all ;-) - Speed changes on the whole are too widespread. I would imagine that just about every player in the game has been affected in some way in order to fix something only seen as a problem by relatively few people. It would have been much better in my opinion to have targeted specific ships and modules rather then the all-encompassing changes made, particularly as they seem to have led to a number of other changes to rebalance things - implant, missile and webbing changes spring to mind. Does the expression "to leave well enough alone" not mean anything to CCP? As Churchill might have said "Never, in the field of human conflict, has time been wasted so much, by so many, to gain so little" ;-)

EVE is now really unplayable for me.
- Lag lag lag... - Undocking takes 30 secs or more - station window doesn't save it's size - amarr stations don't have a texture
I already posted a bug report. But it was closed because the bughunter told me "that has to work, try again" - that's what I call ignorance.
Since the last few updates I can understand the anger of some players. EVE gets more and more unplayable! Sadly :( |

To CCP, IF i may make a suggestion. Put Emperian Age back on line and put Quantum Rise back on the test bed again. Its apparent that Quantum is NOT ready for game play yet. When its ready....THEN deploy it. OH and dont nerf this as bad the second time around. Clatu Verada Nicto Fly safe and eat your vegatables. >R<

like 4 time today i tryed to play evry time same **** i cant pvp masive lag..and bugs come from time to time..i alredy instal new game so i can kill time till you dont fix but no answer or something from your team what you will do..4 days after pach..realy no coment..

Could not get in Just after patch, kept dropping connection. Following day was OK, did some missions and tried to find better fits for my raven now that missiles, drones and speed have all been nerfed at the same time. Hummm.
Overview doesn't work properly, action icons keep switching from a row of large icons to to duplicate rows of small icons.
Last 2 days and today, can't stay online longer than 15 minutes and everything is v e r y s l o w. This seems to be affecting quite a few people.
New stuff is interesting, but reliability is way way down. If this was a standalone product I'd have dropped back to the old version.

The new client seems to take a lot more resources. My pc was rated for premium content and could run 2 clients. now i cant even run 1 basic client withouth horrible lag, even when i'm just sitting in a station in a quiet system, dragging a window, mininnmizing it, clicking a tab, anything that does something to the client it lags. Are you really sure there is no memory leak somewhere or you tested that the client would run at the same speed before and after the expansion on a unchanged computer system?

I don't know if this is update related but I need to find out.
Before the update I used to take my Myrmidon into level 3's and fly about 20km-50km from reds ripping them apart with my rails and drones, Frigates would get close, but Cruisers and Battle Cruisers wouldn't.
Now, Frigates get close very quick, Cruisers in a short space of time, and Battle Cruisers in a very short space of time. Within a few minutes all ships are too close for my rails to be of any use.
Right now my two options are to:
1)Change to Blasters and fly toward the reds, this way i won't have to worry until it comes to several seperate pockets of enemies which would take ages. 2)Fit an AfterBurner. The only way I can do this and remain cap stable is to remove one of my Armor Hardners and fitting a Power Relay, AND! fit T2 Capacitor rigs which are rather expensive.
Now am I just imagining something here?

I jump cloned, and now things are busted. The fitting window shows modules offline, and when I try to online them I get a message that they are already online. If I strip working modules from the ship, and put them back, they end up in the same "offline" state.
Even for those modules that are online (LSEIIs), there is no apparent effect. My shields are at a level as if I didn't have the shield extenders online.
In space, activating a module (MWD) results in the speed boost, but the module doesn't flash, and clicking on it to turn it off resuls in a "module is already speed boost" message.
Relogging does not help.

I too have experienced the increased lag, but for me it seems to be system wide, and doesn't appear to increase with time. Could very well be a memory leak, I haven't stayed logged in for extended periods. Most notably I experience gaps whenever something goes "BOOM." I also had 3 client crashes when losing my ship in PvP. This wouldn't be a problem, except its hard to escape in your pod when the client crashes at the exact moment your ship blows. Before the expansion I never had my client crash (but windows explorer would crash sometimes, and recover). The "lag" doesn't seem to be related to the number of people in system, or even in region. Hope these things get resolved soon. |

and I too have the lag/memory leakage issue... I havent looked over any numbers but it is apparent...
pre QR i had tested my new machine by logging into 6 eve accounts simultaneously on the same machine. I experienced very little lag...
now with QR in place: I log into one account, i lag -- i don't even dare go to jita.
up in amarr space, running missions -- i get starting on waiting for my character selection screen to come up.
so in my particular case, i went from being able to run 6 accounts to barely being able to run 1.
and I too have the question of, where is CCP on this issue? Yeah being able to log in is great, but if so many of us can't really do a damned thing what good is it? it's of absolutely zero good to be able to log in.
Hate to say it because i love eve so much, but maybe you guys should re-think being in the video game industry and go work at a fast food restraunt you guys might actually be qualified to do that. or even better yet -- we should sign a global petition to get all internet access stripped from the continent of iceland, that'd solve our problems...
After careful consideration, I don't think that you guys (especially the people from CCP who post on the forums every now and then), would even be qualified to work at a fast food restraunt. Your customer service skills are non existant.

1. when setting up reactions at pos's. the items all move about in the list when linking them(drag and dropping links) 2. weapon groups have agraphics bug that sometime when shooting they do teh reloading blink, only way i found to stop it is to either enter grouping mode or move them to a different slot. although the bug keeps coming back. 3. wehn jc'ing all implants are lost until you relog. but even then teh skill timer isnt shown corretly and shows the skill time without any implants. skill swapping fixes

Warp to gate while cloaked with cov ops cloak Gate is camped, I jump through and find a broadsword waiting No problem, I've got a cov ops cloak right? I break cloak to align, while also hitting the cov ops cloak I'm given a message when I click the cov ops cloak, roughly like "re-activating after previous activation, 5 seconds". I'm a sitting duck. Broadsword catches me I burn back to the gate and get away. The cloak works when I jump to the other side.
Ok, I try this again. Same thing happens, I'm told there is a reactivation delay. However, this time I can't burn back to the gate, because the broadsword brought his buddies. I lose a blockade runner and 280 warp scramblers bought at 1-1.4m, as well as my implants set since for some reason the only session change I got to see was appearing in the cloning bay...
Right. This has never, ever happened with any other ship I've used a cov ops cloak on. I have extensive experience with recons and covert ops ships. There has never been a 30 second reactivation delay, nor a delay that persists after jumping. This was not mentioned in the patch notes.
I've petitioned this 3 days ago, and am extremely unsatisfied with how it's being handled. First it is said that they have strict reimbursement policies and that they don't have this error happening to them so it's probably not a game defect (some consolation eh?) , the bug only happens to me then?), then they say they can't trust the logs that I've provided - do their logs have a different story? Scagga is running for the CSM, see his campaign thread to know of his standpoints! |

first off all congratz, nice ideas great job well done without major issues except the database failover every downtime :-)
i have noticed 2 things
1) Covops cloaking is is right that the reactivation delay on a transportship is higher ...than on a covops or recon ship ( i didnt read about this fact and cant find any explain for the longer reactivation-time ( a good skilled inty pilot will catch u after entering the system while waiting for the covops cloaking device ready to be activate) and with the missing stabs only 1 point will be enough to hold u cos the mwd will not work
2) BLUEPRINTS it appears that if u pull a nice T2 BPC onto a chat window to drag it there the information on this BPC-link will show u the BPO not the actual BPC (not bad to knew about but if i try to show someone the bpc-ME and PE i will fail)
