Sorry if it has been posted already (search thing is... well... as usual) but I was wondering how would go the calculation of fuel needed to jump ships with the Black Op portal.
Say I have this:
Quote: Total travel distance: 1.07ly. You will need 256 isotopes (38 m3) for this journey with your skills.
Now if I want to use the jump portal and have a viator jump too. What would be the Isotopes comsumption?
I know it's related to the mass... but I kind of forgot the rest.

Did not notice any changes in patch notes to fuel consumption so old equation should still hold.
Black ops fuel calc
Not entirely sure but I think jump planner is also supporting black ops. You just have to look up your viator mass and calculate actual fuel consumption using that.

You can take Blockade runners through your portal now for extra fuel. So stop crying noob. |

Yeh. OP was just asking what amount fuel is consumed jumping that blocade runner for 1 ly.

Mucho thanks, will check that out.

Ouch never realised how expensive the black ops was to use... why don't CCP make its needs more similar to the titans?

Edited by: Evlyna on 12/11/2008 13:20:21 Lol at the funny troll who didn't get the OP.
Anyway... Must be doing something wrong here...
(BaseFuelNeeded for the Jump - (BaseFuel * (0.1*JFCSkill))) * 0.0000018 * (Mass Of Ship Being Bridged)
Considering the Basefuel need for a 1.07ly jump is 427 with JFC at 0 Skill at 4 Viator = 11,150,000kg (unfitted)
(427 - (427*0.4)) * 0.0000018 * 11150000 = 5138 or (256) * 0.0000018 * 11150000 = 5138
so basically, a viator can't jump through a BO jump portal because unless totally pimped by cargo expanders, the BO can only transport 4000 Isotopes.
wut?

I am getting (11.15 mil / 1 mil) * 43.2 = 481.68 isotopes / ly or roughly 72.5 m3 / ly in isotopes with relevant skills at level 4.
It is bulky but not that bad considering you can make covert cynos in cyno jammed systems if I understood stuff correctly. In isk it's approx 170 k / ly with current isotope prices or approx 1 mil per max range (5 ly) bridge for viator.

Edited by: Evlyna on 12/11/2008 13:44:47 Nevermind... think there is a typo in the explanation the guy gives in his link.
Should be 0.00000018, not 0.0000018
Wich would go for:
(256) * 0.00000018 * 11150000 = 513,8
Or to put it in words
Fuel Base - (Fuel Base * (0.1*Skill)) * 0.18 * (Ship Mass/1000000)

You cannot covert cyno in cynojammed systems, it's a possible change in a future patch but does not work as of yet. Also the Max range is 4.5ly with Calibration V, though realistically it's max range is 4ly for the same reasons carriers and dreads cynos are only calculated for level 4 calibration skill. -------------------------- NOTR
