Truly, I appreciate the fixes, but the timing on the patches and extended downtime is unreal.
Yes, the last couple patches went pretty well, but us old grizzled players hear 'extended downtime' and can tend to freak. Why not do these things on Wednesdays, or NOT holidays when everyone is going to be trying to get online / download the patch.
crazy.
Yes, I agree! I have been looking forward all week for having a day off enjoying Eve. I am not happy!

Who needs Thanksgiving? It's all eating and drinking till you're fat and... No wait, that has an other cause...
Originally by: sion drifter Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, the EVE Online Store will not ship out any orders on Thursday, November 27 and Friday, November 28. All orders placed after 10 am EST on Wednesday, November 26 will be shipped out on Monday, December 1

One of the things I was hoping to see on the patch notes was a fix to the random flashing of grouped turrets. They permanently look like they are reloading. The only way I have sometimes fixed this is to unload the ammo and reload. 50% of the time the flashing stops. As I can't reproduced this at will I have not yet bug reported it.

The original plan was to deliver all post-Quantum Rise last Tuesday (25 Nov) but we decided to split up the release and deliver the critical fixes in 1.0.1 last Saturday (22 Nov) so players would have a better weekend experience. We then had to postpone the second part until tomorrow, Thursday (27 Nov).
The EVE store is located in Atlanta GA, USA. Our US office observes US holidays.
Thank you for your response.

It's only on standard twice - and I think it should have been pyroxeres as that's missing.
I was wondering if they were going to drop refinery foreman (or at least downgrade the required level) as requiring scrapmetal processing makes the requirements for basic common ore refiner way high in my opinion. I think technically if you include refinery foreman there are current 8 prerequisites.

Sweet! The patch notes say they've fixed the cider related mac client crashing issues from a few patches ago so that I no longer have to download the entire EvE client with each patch and apply this build patch breaking patch afterward just to play the damn game!
What's that? ...they say no such thing? Oh well, yay for module timer toggles, I guess.

Heh. I didn't see the second part yet and kept looking over the patchnotes trying to find where it said something about cider.
I wouldn't hold your breath for the OSX/Linux clients getting much love. 10-20% of their userbase with critical problems such as frequent crashes and 100MB/jump memory leaks are not as important the 1% who participate in fleet battles... because their battles just aren't big enough yet!

Don't worry about us mate :) Most of us with linux (don't own a mac thus do not know about them) have worked out that it's better and faster to use wine rather than a wine's ripoff bundled with a classic client... U get premium gfx and better performance that way oh and less crashes too... Funny how life turns out isn't it... :)

2100 second divide by 60 is 35 min.
800 second divide by 60 is 13 min.
WAY more than double.
You need to consider the other half the equation (shield capacity) and what the effective shield recharge rate is (shield capacity / shield recharge rate) coupled with the module possibilities and raw HP tank considerations and compare that to other ships. It was simply far too high and had to be reduced.
Would you consider giving it(Orca) a bit more cap atleast to thus make a active shield-tank possible? = without having to rig for it and then still only be able to sustain a medium booster...

Oh wait, you claimed to fix that already and that was bull .. maybe you could try to fix it this time eh?
Sorry to be a whine, but when you cant play due to mem leak it gets pretty frustrating

Mac client question here: will this patch fix the memory leak where after 2 hours orso EVE is consuming 2-3 GB of memory and is prone to crash?
Thank you.

Can we get a little more notice of extended down times? DT is right in the middle of prime time playing for me, so extended DT basically stops me playing for the day.
I'm not complaining about the extended DT its self, or the fact im not gona get to play tonight.. im complaining because if I'd have known about this when I was on yesterday I would have changed skills, and now I cant because im at work and it'll be downtime before I get home. So im going to go almost 20 hours without training a skill..

Too high for what? You feared it would be overpowered for pvp? A 400M ship with only drones for weapons?
You nerfed it's cap already, to the point it can't perma-run a XL shield booster unless you use T2 CCC rigs and all but 2 mid slots for cap.
Now you're nerfing it's passive tanking capability. Because a tank in the 500-ish dps range was that overpowered?
They're supposed to be able to tank 0.0 spawns, right?
It's a 400M sub-cap ship, FFS! It should tank more than the average T1 battlecruiser! ------------------------------------------

if CCP wouldn't release so called "expansion" Quantum Rise at first time, everything would work. When they gonna learn? Expansions should be renamed for something else in Eve as it is everything else but expansions.

I don't think there's any problems with the dating of the patch. CCP can't just take into account all the holidays over the world. and the USA is just one of them, nothing special. It's not even a holiday in europe. And I think it's a good chioce. It's not weekend, most people are working by that time, so nothing annoying. :)
Anyways, in the last fixing patch, there was an entry for fixing the client slowdown after a few minutes of playing (30-40m or so). After the patch, I still experience this issue, the clients slows down, just the way it used to do. Will the issue be address again? Hopefully, successfully by this time.

While I fully don't expect exploit updates prior to a patch, patch notes haven't (correct me if I'm wrong) for a considerable length of time listed exploits after deployment.
Is this a concious change? I've been curious about this for a while now.
Otherwise, quite pleasantly surprised at the amount of changes for a minor update.

It was brought to our attention as a potential issue for players with certain medical conditions, if they were using guns with a very high rate of fire.

Originally by: JadeO I'm wondering if this patch addresses any issues related to Sound? As of QR sounds are not played properly. For example, often i don't hear the "jump" sound or my missiles being launched sounds. Interface sounds are played correctly as are autopilot-related sounds. but missiles, guns etc are not.
Also, as stated previously by A LOT of players, it would be super to have the mail system improved (exporting, folders, imap access or any other kind of out-of-game access) ...
Forgot to mention, only happens on my Classic client. Premium works all good sound-wise. ______________

Will I see strip miners again when I jump into a belt and someone is allready mining? Or will it still look like a barge hanging idle in the belt?
More important: Will you manage to get everything done on time today? I have a skill that finishes at 20:10 EVE time... And I prefer not to loose any skill time.
