Is this just a change to the flavor text? Or are you making any change to the way hit quallity is made? It would be nice to avoid going through that again.
While we are on the topic of hit quality, are you making any changes to the way hit quality is calculated for grouped turrets, or will they continue to provide a better average hit quality than ungrouped turrets?

Important question for CCP officials
Have you fixed the doomsday bug that was reported by SE/AAA/RED.OverLord members in their petitons? I see nothing about CCP has fixed it in patch notes. However the doomsday bug was confirmed by GMs and our people that were involved in tests with GMs.
Please give us a simple answer: YES or NO

Sorry to say this. I try not to write negative comments of other people's work, but the box art is fugly. Really. The game icon is waaaaay better, and not tied to a particular release. Why don't you use it there? Or at least a 3D object (most games in the Games Explorer are some kind of 3D object) like a ship or something cool from the game.

What is the reason behind changing orca shield recharge rate? It is not as if we can passive tank it effective as a drake! *plus it is very dramatic change from 800 second to 2100 second*
2100 second divide by 60 is 35 min.
800 second divide by 60 is 13 min.

Very dramastic change indeed. I don't see why the orca isnt allowed for some 0.0 tanking (4 active hardners, + 3 core defence purgers gives nice tank). Im very glad i havn't rigged the orca yet, we will see.

Truly, I appreciate the fixes, but the timing on the patches and extended downtime is unreal.
Yes, the last couple patches went pretty well, but us old grizzled players hear 'extended downtime' and can tend to freak. Why not do these things on Wednesdays, or NOT holidays when everyone is going to be trying to get online / download the patch.

I'm wondering if this patch addresses any issues related to Sound? As of QR sounds are not played properly. For example, often i don't hear the "jump" sound or my missiles being launched sounds. Interface sounds are played correctly as are autopilot-related sounds. but missiles, guns etc are not.
Also, as stated previously by A LOT of players, it would be super to have the mail system improved (exporting, folders, imap access or any other kind of out-of-game access) ... ______________

You need to consider the other half the equation (shield capacity) and what the effective shield recharge rate is (shield capacity / shield recharge rate) coupled with the module possibilities and raw HP tank considerations and compare that to other ships. It was simply far too high and had to be reduced.

Just because its a holiday in US doesn't mean the rest of the world isn't at work The Saturday extended DT was a very good decision by CCP and they explained why it was done as it was a very important patch and leaving it till the next week would mean many people would be losing out on enjoyment that weekend

Operations, deployment and maintenance of Tranquility is done from Reykjavfk, Iceland (Tranquility is located in London, UK).
The original plan was to deliver all post-Quantum Rise last Tuesday (25 Nov) but we decided to split up the release and deliver the critical fixes in 1.0.1 last Saturday (22 Nov) so players would have a better weekend experience. We then had to postpone the second part until tomorrow, Thursday (27 Nov).

Thanksgiving may be a normal workday outside the US. But in the US, it's second only to Christmas as a major holiday when people are off from school and work. Out of deference to the US subscribers, you should have chosen a different day to implement this patch. Since it's a normal workday outside the US, no one else should care one way or the other. It's kind of a slap in the face to the US player base.

Truly, I appreciate the fixes, but the timing on the patches and extended downtime is unreal.
Yes, the last couple patches went pretty well, but us old grizzled players hear 'extended downtime' and can tend to freak. Why not do these things on Wednesdays, or NOT holidays when everyone is going to be trying to get online / download the patch.
crazy.

One of the things I was hoping to see on the patch notes was a fix to the random flashing of grouped turrets. They permanently look like they are reloading. The only way I have sometimes fixed this is to unload the ammo and reload. 50% of the time the flashing stops. As I can't reproduced this at will I have not yet bug reported it.

The EVE store is located in Atlanta GA, USA. Our US office observes US holidays.
Thank you for your response.

It's only on standard twice - and I think it should have been pyroxeres as that's missing.
I was wondering if they were going to drop refinery foreman (or at least downgrade the required level) as requiring scrapmetal processing makes the requirements for basic common ore refiner way high in my opinion. I think technically if you include refinery foreman there are current 8 prerequisites.

Sweet! The patch notes say they've fixed the cider related mac client crashing issues from a few patches ago so that I no longer have to download the entire EvE client with each patch and apply this build patch breaking patch afterward just to play the damn game!

I wouldn't hold your breath for the OSX/Linux clients getting much love. 10-20% of their userbase with critical problems such as frequent crashes and 100MB/jump memory leaks are not as important the 1% who participate in fleet battles... because their battles just aren't big enough yet!

Don't worry about us mate :) Most of us with linux (don't own a mac thus do not know about them) have worked out that it's better and faster to use wine rather than a wine's ripoff bundled with a classic client... 800 second divide by 60 is 13 min.
WAY more than double.
You need to consider the other half the equation (shield capacity) and what the effective shield recharge rate is (shield capacity / shield recharge rate) coupled with the module possibilities and raw HP tank considerations and compare that to other ships. It was simply far too high and had to be reduced.
Would you consider giving it(Orca) a bit more cap atleast to thus make a active shield-tank possible? = without having to rig for it and then still only be able to sustain a medium booster...

Can we get a little more notice of extended down times? DT is right in the middle of prime time playing for me, so extended DT basically stops me playing for the day.
I'm not complaining about the extended DT its self, or the fact im not gona get to play tonight.. im complaining because if I'd have known about this when I was on yesterday I would have changed skills, and now I cant because im at work and it'll be downtime before I get home. So im going to go almost 20 hours without training a skill..

Too high for what? You feared it would be overpowered for pvp? A 400M ship with only drones for weapons?
You nerfed it's cap already, to the point it can't perma-run a XL shield booster unless you use T2 CCC rigs and all but 2 mid slots for cap.
Now you're nerfing it's passive tanking capability. Because a tank in the 500-ish dps range was that overpowered?
They're supposed to be able to tank 0.0 spawns, right?
It's a 400M sub-cap ship, FFS! It should tank more than the average T1 battlecruiser! ------------------------------------------

I don't think there's any problems with the dating of the patch. CCP can't just take into account all the holidays over the world. and the USA is just one of them, nothing special. It's not even a holiday in europe. And I think it's a good chioce. It's not weekend, most people are working by that time, so nothing annoying. :)
Anyways, in the last fixing patch, there was an entry for fixing the client slowdown after a few minutes of playing (30-40m or so). After the patch, I still experience this issue, the clients slows down, just the way it used to do. Will the issue be address again? Hopefully, successfully by this time.

Thank you, at least the POS production menu will be usable again. I was hoping for a remake of the complete menu. In my eyes it is uncomfortable to use and confusing.
There a couple of things on my wishlist concerning POS production :)
- Visual grouping of input / output silos and their reactions would be nice, filter and sort funktions like "show me all the input silos for reaction xy" - posibility to set up notifications when silos are full / empty - better documentation of all the pos stuff in the help e.g. I still dont know what happens when the output silo of a reaction is full - does the reaction continue burning input materials? - Also would like to bigger silo access ranges ( eg. 3000m like the corp hangar array and ship maintenance bay have ) even better would be to change the "all the floating stuff in space thinggy" and let a ship dock at the tower ( still in space just linked to the tower while docked ), then be able to access all functions, arrays and modules of the tower without moving.
( I know it drifted a bit off-topic - where do I post wishes like that? :) )

Dear Maria,
Most of the memory and client performance related fixes were deployed last Saturday and most of the fixes today are functional fixes of various types.
There are however a few additional memory, graphics and client performance fixes in the today's release. From the release notes:
Quote:
- The cache settings for the Classic mode and Premium mode are now stored separately.
- Orbital maps in the solar system show info window now display correctly.
I do notice that one fix in today's release is missing from the release notes, a fix that addresses a memory leak in certain circumstances.
In tests we did this week we saw FPS improvements between 1.0.1 and 1.0.2. One specific scenario tested was 200 entities in the same bubble, all shooting, and demonstrated fair improvement.

Thanks,

And when one scrolls up to find what was delayed, it was the mail fixes. All the other elements of this patch are still taking place as normal.

I wonder if your allso adressing the bug when fitting rigs on for example a Kestrel.
When I fit a Kestrel to use rockets and I fit rigs the info on rockets stays the same after the rigging as before the rigging. However extended testing proved that they did take into effect, just that the added stats are not visible when checking the rockets loaded up in the launchers.

Could you delay the changes to when you actually can be bothered to make a decent evemail client, so we might actually get a chance to sort through them

It should have been on the main window rather than on the news (even if it is on side). Not everyone reads the news as it is updated daily with role playing elements of the game that some people aren't interested in (me being one of them). It was a bit short notice and should have at least been in the main window

I am sure if CCP did it on a European holiday the Euro's would complain as well. But CCP would never do anything to upset them. For quite some time Europeans were paying more for EVE than US citizens, so I'm not so sure that "CCP would never do anything to upset them".
Originally by: Jacque Custeau When I first started playing EvE in 2003 all the Aurora events happened while Americans were still at work/school.
That might have been because it was during Icelandic working hours.

If possible, yes, just as they should everyone else - if there's a big holiday in any country with a significant player base, it would be nice if they considered that in their scheduling.

What are you talking about?? They take the servers down everyday 11:00-12:00PM GMT and do updates (like this one) around this time also. This means that it does affect most Euro users. We are closer to this time zone than the US. I am in the UK and this means that Eastern time US is 5 hours behind. This means at 11:00 (when updates are done) it is 6:00 AM Eastern US time. The West coast is even earlier (8 hours)! So again this would be 3:00 AM. If anyone is getting preferential treatment it is you US guys. The DT and updates are done when most Americans are asleep.

Whats about the "patches on tuesday" scheme? Anyways, I think announcing a patch 24 hours before it actually happens is not enough time. Especially in a game where skills train offline.
IMHO announcing patches 2-3 days before the deployment would be very appreciated by the playerbase. (at least by me)

Originally by: sion drifter the patch sounds great.. here's my question:
Who decided to patch on Thanksgiving day? Is this the same person who decided to patch on Saturday?
Thanksgiving is a US holiday, not an Icelandic one and is a normal workday for us.
Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, the EVE Online Store will not ship out any orders on Thursday, November 27 and Friday, November 28. All orders placed after 10 am EST on Wednesday, November 26 will be shipped out on Monday, December 1
So you guys don't recognize US holidays huh?
Operations, deployment and maintenance of Tranquility is done from Reykjavfk, Iceland (Tranquility is located in London, UK).
The original plan was to deliver all post-Quantum Rise last Tuesday (25 Nov) but we decided to split up the release and deliver the critical fixes in 1.0.1 last Saturday (22 Nov) so players would have a better weekend experience. We then had to postpone the second part until tomorrow, Thursday (27 Nov).
The EVE store is located in Atlanta GA, USA. Our US office observes US holidays.
Bad decision. Use your head next time. Us Americans are a large part of your playerbase and you should not be deploying patchs on our holidays. Thanks for your proper consideration in the future.

Hi.
Try the following:
1. Open Finder 2. Hit shift-apple-G 3. Type: ~/Library/Preferences/ 4. Move the entire EVE Online preferences folder to the trash 5. Restart the client.
