Originally by: redCube Whats about the "patches on tuesday" scheme? Anyways, I think announcing a patch 24 hours before it actually happens is not enough time. Especially in a game where skills train offline.
IMHO announcing patches 2-3 days before the deployment would be very appreciated by the playerbase. (at least by me)
This. More notice should be given unless its an absolute emergency.

Just be glad you have so many damn holidays and stop whining. CCP is famous of not caring about your issues and no one who actually likes playing this game is not going to quit over a patchday happening on their holiday. |

Hi. If the client starts up with a black screen, I suggest that you clear clear your cache and settings folder. Info on how to do this can be found here: http://support.eve-online.com/Pages/KB/Article.aspx?id=371

If you are a DBadmin at a company and you needed to take the database down for maintenance, more than likely you will not do it when people need to use the DB, i.e. over the weekend.
Since this is a computer game, users want to use it on their 'off' time, thats holidays and weekends. More than 1/3 of the subs live in the US. It would be nice for CCP to keep that mind. Moreover, CCP has a trackrecord of screwing up updates to the server and 3 hour DTs end up lasting 12. It may go smoothly this time, but why risk it on a holiday for 1/3 of your playerbase??
WTF are you going on about?????? Get over it.....BREATH. Im not working im at home but do you see me going on about DT NO!!!!!!!!! LOSER

If I played eve I'd be somewhat upset at the timing.
I can't very well pass up an opportunity to call CCP idiots though.
CCP, you are idiots.

It is currently 14:50. There are still 25 minutes before the servers are scheduled to come up.

Hi.
Try the following:
1. Open Finder 2. Hit shift-apple-G 3. Type: ~/Library/Preferences/ 4. Move the entire EVE Online preferences folder to the trash 5. Restart the client.

they are listening to probelms players have had and are responding by doing a patch to fix those issues.

The problem is that there is no gameplay during downtime. Especially a downtime on a major US holiday.
