Everlasting Vendetta is pleased to announced that our 4 original BS Bp's have come back into our hands. We consider this matter closed and as a corporate policy we are not going to speak about the matter from this point forward.
I am formally instructing every member of Everlasting Vendetta not to post on the EVE online forums in regards to this matter. Period.

I am sorry but to be quite honest this is unacceptable. You all come here, create a ruckus, encourage us to stand by you in regards to a variety of things and you want to pull a Ragnar by saying, "No comment - No one speak under penalty of {insert one here}."
It just doesn't wash. It smells of cover up and I will honestly dig and dig and dig and dig till I get the truth. Of course until then I will speculate, out loud and in public, regarding the perfidy of the Corporate Chain that doesn't hold itself publicly accountable after bringing the issue to the public.
Until otherwise indicated I have to assume, and promote, the idea that a senior manager in EV got caught. Especially after having Equilibre (sp?) so slandered.
What happened to all the director's giving permission to the GM's to "name the shame". And you want to pull this little cover up....
I repeat, unacceptable.
I challenge Everlasting Vendetta to be forthright or be forever named COWARDS and LIARS. You wanted someone to have the guts to admit a crime. Now it is time for you to have the guts to say what happened.

I think what they fell to do about their corperate policy is their own business, if they do not want to name the thieves, that should be their business. Have you ever been in a classroom where someone took something, and the teacher offered no punishment, and not to say who did it if the item were returned? Who is to say that this did not happen, they solved their issue, and got their bps back and in the end that is what matters.
The thief got beaten and so that should be satisfaction enough, however i do feel that if no one from Equilibra was involved in any way, it would be good of them to say so for all their reputation. ---------------

Well let the flame fest begin. Though if you bother to read my post before flaming I would like you to consider this. If the GM's gave the BPO's back, perhaps there was a reason that we, and the members of EV don't know about. I highly doubt that the GM's would say that someones account had been hacked, or that there was a bugg that caused this whole thing. Think about it, if you were in charge of a game like eve would you admit that it was a mistake. Or that your security had been breached? Like wise, it is possible that someone, even a member of ever took the BPO's using some exploit that frankly no one knows about. Wouold the GM's say, oh ya, by the way, there is an exploit that allows people to take corp assets? Nope, cause everyone of us, well at least alot of us, would have thier alts in a corp trying to figure it out.
Also it is possible that someone in EV, or equilibra did take that BPO's and gave them back. This could be through an agreement to keep this thing silent on the forums. If I were faced with the possiblity of getting the BPO's back, and all I had to do was not tell who it was, well you bet I would take them back and never say a word. Heck, the BPO's could have simply showen up on escrow put there by an alt. No one would have even known who did the theft.
Anyways I am glad that EV has thier BPO's back. Regardless of what you may say, the people of EV are a first class bunch.

What N'Fran meant to say was that they are preparing a public statement and wont speak about the matter until they write up their official Press Release.
Isnt that right N'Fran?

For once I agree with Shar Tegral.
I will also be asking the GM's via official channels to clarify that they "have not" given Everlasting Vendetta preferential treatment or information.
If you have however managed to persuade Equilibrium to return the Blueprints by fair means, then well done

They cant persuade equilibria to return the BPOs, because equilibria simply hasnt done it. There are 6 players in 2 different corps under suspect, and not a whole corporation .
I really hope for some kind of explanation towards me and my corp. Accusing us in total first, and then pulling back without any further notice is not acceptable in my book .

Its fair enough to have come here to make a statement in the aim of having property returned. Even the levelling of accusations at people could be forgiveable if in the end it was proved true. But to have accused a Corp (In part or whole) of theft and then refuse to make a clear statement of their part or lack therein of action involved, is a less than honourable thing. Too many accusations fly about the forum and the community with MANY good players being accused of different things based on a corrupted 'Chinese Whispers' preposition.
I could see how Equilibria would be left with a bad taste in their mouths after this post, so it would be only fair to either say they did it or they didn't --------------------------------------------------------------

Well i got four answers, one for each possible situation...
IF GM's INTEREFERED!
if the GM's replaced the BP's then there is no hope for EVE.
Whining gets you far doesnt it?
INTERNAL ERROR!
but if it was all an error like "oh silly me, the bps is in a secure can", then EV's management sucks and should be replaced...
CORP THEFT!
Happens to the best of us...
BUGS!
Oh well, its all normal in EVE...

LOL looks like Edward Vendetta had a pain of conscience and decided to "find" the blueprints and not explain how!

Originally by: Leno I think what they fell to do about their corperate policy is their own business, if they do not want to name the thieves, that should be their business.
You my friend are a tad clueless. Don't worry, it happens to us all.
Originally by: Leno Have you ever been in a classroom where someone took something, and the teacher offered no punishment, and not to say who did it if the item were returned? Who is to say that this did not happen, they solved their issue, and got their bps back and in the end that is what matters.
EV were the whining child running to teacher, "BooHoo, help me!" And they spread their "internal policies" for all to see. To raise the fuss, the accusations, the hooplah that they did requires a bit more than just, "Ok, we'll be clamming up now."
Originally by: Leno The thief got beaten and so that should be satisfaction enough, however i do feel that if no one from Equilibra was involved in any way, it would be good of them to say so for all their reputation.
The thief did not get beaten. He is currently holding the CEO's seat. (Without a clear statement that is the only reasonable truth.)
I will say this, plain and simple, EV people are talking. I have already been contacted and informed by several parties that logs and recordings of EV meetings are available. I didn't go seeking this info. I woke up and my inbox and eve-mail box was a merrily blinking with people willing to tell their side's of it.
And if there is anything you should know by now. I will tell it.
So EV, you have until I can arrange the details of the transfer of these material. I'd rather have it straight from the horse's mouth then some quagmire created by spin control and repeated attempts at plausible deniability.
You came out in public, you made public accusations, you cuased an uproar of disquiet about CCP and GM's, you accused people of using {that unmentionable site}, you said, "PLEASE, Name the culprit."
You can either face the music... or reap the whirlwind.
This is not a bluff. I don't have the credibility to do them. Eve Guardian - Former Reporter

Equilibria are waiting for an explanation and an apology.
We don't want war but I know where my vote would go.
Mongo Peck is clearly a "man in the know" so perhaps EV would save some face by releasing a public statement before he let's the cat out of the bag.

As an Update:
Human Rights Organization Files Complaints Against Everlasting Vendetta
A well known human rights group, "For Free Speech", has begin filing complainst with CONCORD regarding the rampant suppression of Everlasting Vendetta's employees.
"These people are not slaves to this corporation that appears to be going rogue," Gal Re'Vantum said. "Freedom of speech is a protected right under the CONCORD arrangments."
Mr. Re'Vantum has provided us with documentation of a variety of cover ups as well as shredding and alteration of corporate documents.
Everlasting Vendetta has been silent... except for the sounds of shredding machines working overtime.
NOTE: EV is now deleting or altering posts on their own forums to cover things up or suppress it's members from talking, internally. What's next I wonder? Eve Guardian - Former Reporter

Oh boy, this is a hot one. I would like to say a few things: 1) As far as I know, Darcon stated very clearly in his post that he was speaking for himself when he made his post, and not as a spokeperson for EV. The flaming that arose after that is typical of these forums, as I found his post an honest typical explanation of events as he saw them. Equilibria guys know Darcon, and know him to be very level headed (prob more than most of us). 2) Whatever the reason EV has its reasons for not wanting to discuss the problem, so there it is, it should be respected. 3) Conversations should be held imo between equilibria and EV to clear the air, but I think that should be done in game. Perhaps there details can be given to satisfy Equilibria position.
Josh to suggest war is a little much don't you think? Let's not overreact here.
My two cents....there it is!

Until a clear statement is made that no Equilibria member was involved in the theft/return of EV's BP's, we will continue to ask for an apology.
Darcon DID make an accusation, no matter what he says.

Darcon started it.... EV management joined in with plenty of details. (Which will likely be disappearing soon to post editing I'm sure)
Originally by: TerminusX 2) Whatever the reason EV has its reasons for not wanting to discuss the problem, so there it is, it should be respected.
No it shouldn't. EV had our, the community's respect, when it came out in the open and was willing to discuss the matter. Now that there's been a resolution, potentially embarrassing to EV, they want to shut up.
The price of that choice is complete loss of respect.
Originally by: TerminusX 3) Conversations should be held imo between equilibria and EV to clear the air, but I think that should be done in game. Perhaps there details can be given to satisfy Equilibria position.
I for one would love to have EV clear Equilibria. Especially after such a fine job of slander that was done. Rampant speculations while at the same time expressing that, "Well no one still in EV could have done it!", is slander. And slander becomes actionable when those who committed refuse to recant their statements.
They made them in public, they should continue to make them in public. EV's claims of honor, and Equilibria's honor, should demand no less.

I understand the request for an apology (hence my third point on my initial post), but would just suggest you guys talk about in game rather than the forums, as they are such a flame-fest these days.
Don't blame you guys for being ****ed at all, and I respect all of ya as I fought with most of you (great fighter and commanders btw). Just don't want a war over this.

The accusations were made on the forums so it is fitting the apology is made on the forums also.
Plus, this will leave no doubt in anyones mind that we were involved if a public explanation and apolgoy is made.
It's going to come out sooner or later; Mongo Peck will ensure that.

This looks like its going to turn from a slagging match into an Equilibria / EV war. I think EV ows EQ an appology, as innocent people were accused and getting yer name tinted is no good thing.
Im not a part of either corp, but I can see this escalating and involving corps allied to both factions joining in. Settle your differences and call it a day. I thought all ex-EV members stil fought for the same cause... ?

Yes I did read it, have it here in my library.
If I remember correctly the gist of the story was that a corporate executive was tying to steal the company's designs and trying to cover it up. That the cause of the uncovering was an accident that could have been catastrophic for the reputation of the corporation.
And that one lone executive did the right thing, saving the company and defeating media allegations into other areas.
Are you saying that you are offering to be the "one lone executive" to clear things up and set everyone straight. I would truly love for you to come along and set me in my place.
Bring it on... embarass me. Puh-leeeeeeeeeeez

Recluse Viramor you seem very quick to defend your Corporation and that is admirable, but if you look at the lead post and take a second to relax i'm sure you can see the need for clarification. EQ have a right to feel that their reputation has been hard done to. Reputations in this community become to quickly tarnished by accusations left hanging in disputes, Wars HAVE started over such things as accusations levelled without proof. So EQ are well within their rights to demand an official posting of such info that may clear their name or at least put into a position where they can refute claims. If EV didn't want the incident made public they shouldn't have come to the forums. Whats good for the goose is good for the gander and EV opened up this whole can o' worms so EQ deserve some form of right to the truth, or at least a clearing of their name --------------------------------------------------------------

I wonder if I can apply to Equilibria or Crice for their soon to be declared wars on you. Well Equilibiria is only a guess but if the total response from Everlasting Vendetta is "trolling" well ... what more needs to be said.

It was I, Xaar, that "stole" the bpo's out of EV's slots one month ago. I did this by myself, without any help from anyone else.
At that time, I had a very precise reason to do so.
Today, the reason for the theft has dissapeared.
I notified EV of this through my agent yesterday and my agent returned already 2 bpo's. The remaining 2 bpo's are now in possession of my agent and they will be returned to EV's management this weekend. The good news for EV is that they will recuperate their property which has been researched at least 5 ME levels further.
Although my actions will be condemned by numerous people, I shame myself when I read all those accusations posted by the community in which I play for over a year.
Shame on you all.
Do not forget that the "game" cannot and may not be played on the forums. After all, it is a game...and it is supposed to be fun...
EV management may not be blamed for the theft. Equilibria corporation may not be blamed for the theft.
I am the one to be blamed.
So, start flaming and trolling! I do not care.
I would never accuse someone without proof. Never !
Xaar Ex director of EV
PS: I would like to thank N'Fran D'Larn and Seren D'Koch for their professionalism in this matter. It has been said numerous times in the past and I'm glad that I can repeat it. EV truly is the best corp in the game and this is because it has the best people. I want to apologize to Talitha and Edward Vendetta because I created a lot of controversy that has hurt them. I'm sorry about that. Please consider this. I do not have to say this, nor do I have to return the bpo's. I do this of my free will because I believe it is in the best interest of the largest possible group of people. Xaar out.

Yeah... apparently something about pwning you at your HQ in Germinate.
Of course I may give the gentleman far too much credit. I've been accidently treating him like he mattered.
PS: And I don't care who was at fault. This whole cover up thing, especially now, makes little or no sense. Simple enough.
Equilibria is shamed now because of the actions of one of it's most respected members. Everlasting Vendetta's management is shamed because it was willing to allow the dignity of its corporate members to be tainted as well.

Xaar, I once held you in high regard.
Scum is name that is too good for you.
Taken from the May 29th 2003 Devchat at EveGate . <Muaddid> Q: When will sentry gun and station and similar construction pods be introduced on the market? <Hellmar> we have various player owned entities already implemented. Sentry guns, power/shield generators, field repair mini-stations, mobile refineries. We are still working out the last tidbits of how they can be over taken, what is the penalty of having a sentry gun kill a n00b etc. and we have been a bit busy with plugging the holes that people have found.I would say that you'd start to see these items on the market in about 2-3 weeks, very expensive to begin with |

this outcome was always above my head like the sword of damocles...
I hate to read this from one of my most trusted friends ingame. But he joined this corp knowing about the BPOs without telling us anything. We never had the possibility to convince him to give them back.
I my self can only speculate about his reasons for myself.
But theft is theft and wont be tolerated by me nor by the other members of equilibria.

I can see now why it was difficult to make a reply to this thread, in saying that people oft times have valid reasons for things that seem otherwise vicious and two-faced. The very fact that Xaar would come forward to end this debate and clear the air reflects well on him though the base action still does him serious harm. Those other members of EQ who had no idea should truelly feel no shame for seeking the truth though. In the end the saddest thing to see is old Corp mates and probably friends taking such action against one another.
From this point on it would seem most effective if the entire thing be delt with ingame, i'd imagine neither side wants it open to public scrutiny any more...

Regardless of whether you consider me an embarrasment to my profession or not (And I did find that insulting) there is one thing I patently laugh at:
Your lame attempt at calling me a liar. I read the statement and by time the forums had loaded up "my qouting reply" you had changed it. Just becuase you do not have the courage to stand by your words is your problem. Not mine.
However you are basically a loud mouth unknown to me. So I give you the value of your words. Obviously not much. And the difference is that I have never lied nor have I ever played spin control.
I don't have to. You on the other hand posted in this thread contrary to your CEO's orders and insulted another corporation.

Kudos to Xaar for coming clean. Whatever his original intentions were, indeed now are, he has singlehandedly shown himself to be the most vile, and most honorable, of characters.
I would say something about he who repents his sins, but I don't believe in all that ancient mumbo jumbo :)

I cannot express how difficult the last few weeks have been. It took us several weeks to have confirmed by the GM's that EV had in fact, fallen victim to corp theft and as I am sure most of you can understand, it was a major blow to our corp and to many of our old friends, who are now in Eq.
Darcon's original post was unfortunate. It was not a path I would have chosen personally or for EV, but I fully understand the immense frustration and anger he was feeling. Because of that post, far too much of what should have remained private was exposed to the self-serving negativity which still runs rampant in these forums. While I can understand anyoneÆs anger at having a finger pointed anywhere near them or a trusted friend, what a disappointment that my friends let things turn so ugly when none of us knew who the thief was.
Yesterday, EV was contacted by what we now know to be XaarÆs ôagentö. One of the conditions to have the BPOÆs returned was to make the post on the EVE Online Forums which started this thread. I am breaking from those conditions by speaking publicly here, but now that the cat is out of the bag, I think both EQ and EV members deserve a public acknowledgement of whatÆs gone on.
I want to thank Cleopatra, Tamish and Bluevelvet of EQ for keeping civil and working with EV to uncover the culprit. While I am sure many of you guys were doing the same, those guys quietly contacted me and put forth best efforts to resolve our mutual problem.
I apologize to EQ on behalf of EV for the innuendos and negativity of which we were a part. What a shame.
I will not apologize to the EVE community for management decisions on who has/had access to BPOÆs, working diligently to uncover the thief or failing to rise to the sh*t storm many of our current forum *****s have propagated. I stand by my belief that the forums are 99% negative and that I donÆt need to post here unless itÆs something positive.
Xaar, my old friend. You have made a bold and positive decision in identifying yourself as the one who took the BPOÆs. While I donÆt know your mind, I believe you have come forward because things didnÆt turn out at all how you thought they would. I believe you are far too decent of a person to sit idly by and calmly accept the fallout. I appreciate the courage it took to stand up and put an end to this. I appreciate that you are returning the BPOÆs.
Regardless of what has happened, I have no interest in vilifying you. You are working to make this right and there isnÆt anything more I could ever ask of anyone. I want you to know that I still consider you a friend and look forward to one day tossing back a Belgian beer with you.

EVE-Guardian should be ashamed that they have someone so biased and incompetent on their writing staff. You embarrass both yourself and your organization.

If you have not the intelligence to attack my words and have to resort to character attacks... who is embarassing to anyone here?
I'm entitled to my opinions. It's part of that damned free speech thing I defend when people I don't like choose to send in an article. And they never know that I don't like them becuase when I am doing my job I am doing my job.
Here I'm being a reporter. For the most part I have succeeded in getting what I wanted. For the most part. In truth the whitewash doesn't add up. Simple truth it smells, and feels, orchestrated.
Does this mean I have some insight into what really went on... nope. But it doesn't mean I'm going to refrain from exercising my brain when looking at things either. But then things look so much nicer when it isn't EV members doing the talking. Just former members from two days ago.... like I said, "I use my brain and watched everything said, and everyone who said it, so don't try fronting."
It's embarrassing. Eve Guardian - Former Reporter

Damn strate your entitled to your opnion! But he was not trying to take that away from you. Everybody is entitled to make their own opnions, and everybody else is entitled to tell them they are wrong. For a 'reporter' you sure are arrogant and norrow minded. Very argumentative from what i've seen of you on the forums recently. Do not throw slander and lies at EV, they are a top quality corp and n'fran is a very good CEO. now he knew when he made this thread who did it, but was good enuf, to protect xaar and Equilibria, not to just say outright who it was. Everybody in .E. has enormous respect for n'fran and will continue to do so. now i know your going to try to flame this, and to be honest i dont give a f**k. im just going to do what everybody should, and ignore you. ------------------------------------------- Voted "Best" |

This whole thread has been fabulous entertainment, I just hope the corps in question are as incompetent on the battlefield as they are off it.
One wonders how much of the GM's time has been taken up by this charade and whether the same rules apply for all.
