You guys haven't lost time - CCP have just had to roll back something they are doing to make OUR experience of EVE better. They needed to roll out a patch and the fact is that they've been working hard to try and placate the nerd rage just because they didn't get to afk mine/chat/whatever for a couple of hours. It didn't work. Crap happens. EVE developers are not here to cater for your personal demands. They're here to serve the community at large and they have responsibilities to provide a more or less stable system to the silent majority than risk deploying a patch arse-ways and make everyone unhappy - and give the peanut gallery yet another thing to gripe about needlessly. Worse than footie fans! shakes head

Stupid me, I thought the gift wasn't until Dec 24th or thereabouts. And now that the patch is not-a-patch, do I feel cheated? Hardly. Training an alt for Covops involves so many hidden skill reqs that this ranks under: "...Meh...." Keep fixin' the game, CCP, I got more important things to worry about....

Seriously though if it wasnt working properly its better it wasnt deployed. Its really really lame when people cry about patch times and down time, and get on the " I pay to play crap" seriously I think their mums are paying for it. With all its hassles EVE is nowhere near as bad as most of the other Major MMORPHS as far as DT and patching goes.
