Ok so **** happens and it gets patched when it gets patched, who what where and why are not as important to me as when the servers will be available for gameplay?

Although not feeling in any was negative about CCP or any decisions they choose to make for the benefit of EVE, I'm intensely curious as to why the extra DT could not be cancelled. Just wild curiousity on my part, not looking for a reason to say "AHA! You suck!"... because you dont. Suck i mean... Shovel please...

It's annoying but I think people can accept a mistake has been made, patch doesn't work etc.
What people get annoyed about is setting constant times for when it's going to come back up and constantly failing to get it back up and running on those time.

I was wondering, as downtime approached this morning, just what CCP could do to top the other amazing patch day f*ck ups. So as I set a 19 day skill (can't be too careful, this is CCP were talking about after all), I couldn't come up with anything that could top the previous "hilarious" events.
Clearly my imagination isn't what it used to be, or I would of course come up with the amazing, nay, improbable idea that they would do the WHOLE FECKING extended downtime, THEN say, "oh, er Hai, sorry, we not doing patch. Sorry."
CCP, you never ever fail to amaze me at your utter incompetence! Why the hell do I love this game lol.
F*ck it, I am off to walk the dog. Fresh air, it's actually quite nice! I'll try later tonight

Half a month, even if that's the case, that's only what, Ç7-8? CCP brings out at least two big expansions a year, and almost weekly patches/fixes/updates. The expansions alone would cost Ç100 if compared to other MMOG's.

Nor have I, but I *DID* once do a 25 jump journey (pre wtz times) and then realised I had left the cargo at the start point.
I wept.

I just wanna know what "Unforseen network issues" arose, and why were they outside of your control? Just curious. I'm extremely excited about the patch because being able to turn off screen shake will finally let me keep my camera zoomed in during combat and not feel like I'm going to throw up all over my keyboard  So I hope we get the patch within the next week.
The other performance improvements also sound great!

I have set a skill to train based on the info first given on how long the down time would be, and now that down time has been extended to a full day w/ no warning. this sucks because the skill i set will be done just a few hours after the first down time stated, and I will now have a full day of skill training waisted. I would like some kind of compensation for this, because I am losing valuable training time due to non-comunication on your part. had i known the game would be down for a day i would have set a longer skill to train. can u at least open up the game for 1 hour letting people to reset there skills in lite of the new down time.

To elaborate a little on this, we ran into issues that could not be foreseen late in the deployment procedure. Due to that we only had about half an hour to try and resolve the situation or cancel publishing the patch. That's the reason we had a full downtime without actually deploying.
However since we have now run pretty much all the procedures and tests we need to run for a patch deployment, we can deploy it very soon, and then we don't need as long a downtime.
Also, the issues encountered were not with the patch or code itself, but rather with our distribution mechanics for the patches. That's being worked on now and will hopefully be resolved later today or tomorrow.

Tomorrow? Don't know about you but I don't want two days in a row of nearly 5 hour DT.
Glitches happen, would you rather they don't patch at all and leave you with no fixed content and so forth? Or maybe they pull a Blizzard, and don't actually tell you for hours AFTER it's supposed to have ended. 'least they are prompt with the advisory.

"unforseen network issues" - 5 hours to install patch. If you found you couldnt do it because of network issues, why is the downtime still extending out to the original patch time period. And why is downtime extended??? And what time is downtime gonna be extended to???
Give us MOOOAAR information ffs.!!! This is my gametime that i've paid for, and now im gonna have to wait another downtime in a couple of weeks for you to try again..
