Edited by: ZeaL dRaGoN on 18/07/2004 05:31:45 There needs to be a change, when shiva hits with POS, BUT if they completly remove "people in local" and "show ships inspace" u r forced to travel around with large fleets in 0.0, if u want to prevent that ur next jump isnt the last one for ur ship.
The other way round it could be very awful too. Now if u try to find enemys u need to scout large areas and that can be very time consuming, so the game gets very boring in 0.0 space.
Edit: Ah and when u r working on the scanner atm, implement a filter, so we can decide what we want to scan inspace (ships, roids and so on)

if you don't wake up, i'll have to stop kissing you. all that flailing has made you sleepy. you rest while i untie you. stay here until they find you. My hand made mannequin. i won't let them get you. they'll know you're mine by the fingerprints on your throat. isn't she lovely? isn't she wonderful? like the *****s that we are, swatting flies from the wounds we design. |

Worst ideas in the history of EVE. Period. Don't implement it. In fact, fire whoever suggested it in the first place. If it was a player, cancel their account and BAN them.
Bloody horrible ideas, and it's seriously disurbing that they would be taken seriously.

I agree with Daakkon and not just because he owes me 50M isk.
People will now only travel around in large groups resulting in the removal of small-scale warfare.
Alliances will be completely unable to defend their territory from solo-miners, invading forces, and you won't even be able to see alliance friends in local which means massive channels will have to be created so that people can repeatedly asking "Errrr, anyone in FUQT-UP"?
To put it simply, you can't fight people who you can't find.

i have a question for those are for this idea:
what makes you think this will allow you to sneak up on anyone?
People will now just deply scouts at cross-systems or important systems which have to be passed through to reach them.
In effect, they will now rely on scouts for much more detail and quicker information than the map could've provided previously.
sure, you could kill the scout but it won't take much to set up bm's 1000's of kilometres away - it still allows them to see you coming in relative safety.
In the end, this will acheive NOTHING for pvp but EVERYTHING for solo miners.

Edited by: Sinist on 18/07/2004 09:03:15 Joshua. I think you have proved yourself for the last year that you are just a forum spamming crazy person. Why do you insist on arguiing in a dev blog post? Why do you have to argue with everyone who doesnt agree with you? Get over yourself. We understand where you are coming from. We know you dont like the idea. Stop whining please. Gawd.
Scouts are a good thing. On the other hand alliances arent going to know that there is for example lone miners out in no mans land unless they go there. They arent going to maybe notice a cloaked fleet warp through. It is going to make these regional alliances work a little harder in that they cant claim 98% of the space in 0.0 because all they ahve to do is use pilot in space map and go and find whoever is in their region. This way they will only be able to "hold" a few systems and have to work at defending the rest or keeping it closed space.
I bet you didnt think about cloaking huh. I mean now a blob is going to have to set down mobile warp disruptors and anti cloaking ships at the gates to make sure noone gets by. Brilliant idea I think. Stop whining. I honestly just wish you would quit the game Mr Calvert because you are advacating against a good idea. I would rather see people like you go find another game.
 No offense intended.
