It's only a docking aggression timer, simply put you should have warped to a safe or celestial, and stayed on the run for a minute, unless you were scrammed, then you should have tried to get out of scram range and warp, it was to stop the station huggers.
edit: well not to entirely stop the station huggers, but at least to make them commit to a fight instead of shoot/dock/undock/shoot/dock etc
Was in the patch notes a few builds ago somewhere if I remember rightly.

So, this guy fires on me first the moment I undock. So, I fire back. BAM I have a 15 minute aggression timer, and he got me warp scrambled all of a sudden. So, I can't warp out, and every time I try docking it says some crap about aggression. WHAT?! I have a 2.0 POSITIVE security RATING, he has like -8.0 or something, he fired on me FIRST, I fired BACK! WHY AM I THE ONE WITH THE AGGRESSION TIMER?
To make things worse I lagged out and this resulted in me losing my Nighthawk (expensive tech 2 battlecruiser) that was very well fitted with various tech 2 modules. Is there anything that can be done?
Update: Turns out I was pod killed while lagging out, so there goes the high level implants too.
Caldari? Check.
Carebear? Check.
Got completely owned in the face? Check.
Business as usual.

I'm not even sure the OP was fired on to begin with, he does strike me as someone who might think just cos someones locking you up, or because because someone tackled a jetcan called "You". Op should check his sec status history to see if he was suckered into tanking the sentry's as well.
Might get us another entertaining emo-rage outpouring.

That actually makes sense. Seeing as from his story the Pirate scrambled him AFTER he started "returning fire"... I wouldn't be suprised.

Although he should have gotten a warning popup for that. Unless he disabled the popup at some time. In which case this is all even more amusing.

Reminds me of hyperion I killed last nite. First we killed his ishkur with bunch of T1 frigates and few destros and he came back with that hyperion fitted with 3 heavy nuets and 5 HEAVY blasters. Need to say that he didn't survive.

Also, the sixty second aggression timer is for ANY aggressive action, not just shooting. Webbing, scrambling, painting, jamming, whateverthehell else does as well.

just realise that if u aggress or respond u are probably going need to deaggres and be able to tank the enemy for 90 or 120 seconds do that and youre fine

anyone with half a brain - not me go join FW if u want pvp on tapp would realise that if u aggress it locks u off same things happen on gates thats why its best to engage pvp safespots and asteroid belts

What is there to petition? You shot at someone, now you're aggressed. Otherwise people would just shoot and dock...
You're just increasing the delay in legit petition responses.
Learn aggression mechanics before you engage someone in eve. We've all got to learn the rules somehow - you just happened to lose a command ship and implants to figure it out.
Kinda funny actually.

Somebody that did missions for more then 4 years knows what the yellow aggression timer means. He also knows that he can dock with that yellow aggression timer.
This guy has no clue at all what it means, freaked out when he saw a blinky that was locking him and fired in panic, got whacked and then pressed ctrl-q hoping it would save him.
