The warning about buying / selling over or under average price is ruening the market. This will lead to same price in all regions.
This must have been implemented becouse lazy players that dont check their prices have bought and sold things verry cheap or hige. This cant be blamed on the game or anything but them self.
To day i was to buy a original vigil bp becouse i need one out in 0.0 Im in nonni and there is 1 in market. Its priced to 5,2mil which is a pretty hige price but not insane. I did not know what average price was so i pressed buy. Then i get a warning that im about to pay 5mil for a 2,something bp. Since it seems i can save 3mil i fly 7 jumps to minmatar space and buy the bpo there.
This is not right, the seller had probably moved this bpo to nonny just becouse there was noone in market there. He have all the right to make isk on this.
Also, there are many having buy order on modules which npc hunters sell becouse they dont have the refining skills. Now they get a warning that they are to sell a module for a cheap isk. So the chance for them to sell this is less. The one buying this modules spend time making buyorders, compeate with other players that make buy orders and then travle around hauling this modules or minerals they refined from it.
Do CCP really want all modulse, ships, ammo, bp's to be the same price in all regions ?
No CCP get your act to gether and stop feeding the whiners and carebears. Its about time you start thinking on what changes you do and actualy make a stand: This is how it is supose to be and you just have to [fill in the blanks]
CCP you are ruening the game and shooting your self in the foot.

I agree wholeheartedly that its a completely uneeded 'feature'. It seems opvious however that CCP put it in to appease the whiners that buy shuttles at 10 mill without reading the price.
IMHO there should be a leeway of 200% above average price before this warning pops up. This way that BPO you bought would not have given you such a warning, however buying a shuttle for more than 30k would. This should apease the whiners without ruining the markets.

so what are you mad that you cant sell shuttle for 40m isk? or is it that you cant gouge the things you overprice because people can now see that you RIP em off all the time???
in either case build more and sell fair or keep your practice and dont complain when others sell lower then you..
its either adapt or die..

Edited by: Bhaal on 19/07/2004 18:28:52 I like it because it does not allow scammers to get their money.
I routinely buy stuff up to 50% higher than the average price. I do take into consideration what region I'm in, how many jumps I have to go to get it cheaper, usually if the seller is not trying to price gouge, I buy it from him...
I think it should stay. It's not ruining the market for the honest, just the dishonest... Some people are willing to pay more to avoid travel (me), some people are not.
I also tend to use it as a tool to gage how much you can sell stuff for.
I'll look on the market for the ave price, and apply a markup I think is fair depending upon the demand and how close an alternative is for a prospective buyer...
I don't see it as that big of a problem, unless you are a scammer by trade... And honestly, I could care less if it hurts your gameplay style...

No. I think this price prompting thing was added because of morons putting in orders for stupid, idiotic, high prices.
Don't blame the lazy people. Stoned people have a right to play too. And it's easy to buy things for the wrong price when stoned.
HereÆs a way to fix it.. Stop showing people the average price.. But when someone places a stupid order for something like a shuttle at 10,000,000 a unit. Then have a prompt popup saying the price is outrageous and the order can not be processed.
This will solve your beef, and it will prevent the stoners buying things for stupid prices.

I completely agree. There should be a warning for insane prices, but not like it is now (you're about to buy for 230,000 ISK when the average price is 229,000 blah blah).

Exactly. And Zarquan's example too.
The only time it should show a warning is when the price is more than 500% what it is normally. ------------- My salsa makes all the pretty girls want to dance and take off their underpants. I <3 ( . Y . ) |

Why on earth are you telling me to adapt ?
This warnings affect all 50k players in this game. Bying 100mil shuttles affect 3 players pr 6mnt. This are the one that should adapt.
And for them trying to put this as a problem for stone people. Well im constantly stone and have bought many insane priced stufs from the market. Just latly i bought 1k iso for 62k pr unit.
Stop whining and force everyone to play the game as a 1 player game. Go play X-tension if you want to play in space and alone.

I build and sell too and you know what people that would go and put things for a huge mark up made this happen ..
my business never got hurt in any way because my prices were never high to begin with. so if your business is at a loss its not the buyer's fault or ccp.. think about it..
and yes use your brain next time.

There is nothing wrong with a shuttle for 10mil or 50mil.
I have full set of implants. If i was shot down and docked with my pod in a station with 1 shuttle at 10mil. If then a corp im in war with possible camping my station or gates. Its very worth to pay 10mil to be able to escape then geting poded and loos my implants.
Also its not possible to buy a shuttle for 10mil if there are cheaper shuttles there.
I feel absolutly no sorrow for anyone buying something that they did not check the price for. Same goes for someone jumping in its chair when they se a apoc BPO going for 10mil in escrow. If they really think someone is selling this BPO for 10mil they god damn deserve to be scamed.
You dont call and order a car with out asking its price. And if you do you have enough monney to pay what ever it costs.

I disagree, I think it is a good feature. It will keep the market pricing in line, I have bought and sold things both above and below market price, I sold a few Gallente Imicus for about 30k over market average, I have been selling shuttles for about 10k under since everyone else is. I dont think it really affects alot. If you need something your gonna buy it, and personally im not gonna fly 12 jumps to save 50k most others wouldnt either. I do like knowing what the AVERAGE price is when I buy something though.

If the station i'm in has an Amarr shuttle for 8k and then the Minmatar, Gallente, and Caldari shuttles are ranging from 90m to 500m in price.. Then yes. I want thoughs to be removed completely because it's annoying.

For those of us willing to pay insane prices sometimes cause we need stuff, it's only a warning, we can still freaking buy it if we want!
It's just a warning, that's it...
I see no problem...
It ultimately only adversly affects the scammers... The people who play the game with malicious intent... I say good for CCP, as these are the types you don't want playing anyways...
I just wish we had the opportunity to set our own % markup as to when the warning starts to appear, it gets annoying to see it everytime... ------------------------------------------------ "for piece sakes!" |

It's actually just waiting for the configurable option to set the warning limit (X% above).
