Viceroy	Posted - 2004.07.21 20:31:00 - [49] so basicly we're gonna have 800 crows/raptors (or vigils/claws/stilettos if other race ships are allowed) equipped with full overdrives and microwarpdrives+afterburners racing across 150 jumps without even looking at eachoter cause firing at someone will make you lose time and its not really worth it. Who ever gets lucky (and doesnt CTD/lose connection) and loads fast wins the race. What would be best would be to give out the route waypoints one by one while the race goes on. This would pretty much limit blockades. But there wont be much fighting anyway, since everyone will be equipped for pure speed and no one will be able to get a lock on anyone before they warp/jump. Only chance is that if people set up blockades with medium mobiles + bombageddons on the route, in which case everyone will die immediatly (except the guy thats friends with the blockaders), save those who chose to race with battleships or cruisers. They would die a few seconds later. This is all assuming that the route goes public before the race. But no jumping to conclusions :P Its not final yet and i bet there's a catch to it all anyway. -
