I will be back on September 5th. Do I stand a chance or should I just forget all about it? ________________________________

I cannot believe the Caldari mega-corps would organise a race in which their own production ships are so unlikely of winning, its a bit like Boeing designing a show which highlights how good Airbus planes are!
I can only hope that the mega-corps are not stupid and that they are currently working on a discovery, between now and the Championship, which will correct all Caldari ships handling and performance issues; and that my beloved Scorpion will stop acting like its turning around in semi-dried cement. |

There will be 5 qualifier races for each corporation, each with 20 players out of the total of 100 admitted for the corp's qualifiers. The top 2 players from each qualifier race will go on to race on behalf of their megacorp in the final race. No single player will have to participate in more than one qualifier.
In general there will be 5 days, give or take, between qualifiers for any given corp. Right now we're thinking of spreading each corporation's 5 qualifiers out among different time zones so as to give players everywhere a fair chance to race on behalf of their favorite megacorp. If you sign up, have sufficient standings with the corp, and get a qualifier date that you won't be able to make, it's conceivable that we might be able to switch you with someone from another qualifier for the same corp, provided you're able and willing to re-arrange your clock on that date in order to race with players from a different time zone. No promises yet, though, as we can't be sure at this point how much of a logistical headache it will be.
These points will be clarified in future updates to the rules section of the sign-up page. Until then, hope I've helped. |

Edited by: olyyy on 22/07/2004 00:40:55 it could be extremly fun and nice if the race was through ALL 0.0 regions, this way giving a chance to all alliances to "eliminate" some opponents then it's not sure small frigs would be the ship of choice since they would get popped too easely Also team work would be requested to survive to the trip and reach the final system
Galaga (Galaxian - XIF corp) And yes, Olyyy is on our KOS list so she enjoys stirring the "flames" ( 2004.05.25 ) |

The race is all about who has the uberleeet computer to load the next system the fastest. I've participated in a race before and that's all it came down to, whoever had the fastest comp.

I have to ask in the interests of rp ect, When are the caldari going to ask the alliances if they can run there race into there space? According to the jove delegate all alliances as such have been recognised as independant empires by the jove. This would lead me to belive that the caldari have to get permission to do this in alliance space and if the GM's interfere to stop alliances camping there systems with speed camra's to dish out some penalty points of course. This act if the GM's interfere will surly just undermine the whole rp nature of the jove event and this event.
Think along the lines of Death Race 2000 should be the way it go's no holds barred and if ya make it ya make it if not your dead.
Just my opinion.

Race begins race gets 10 jumps away Dear players we need to make a short unsceduled reboot at 20.20 everyone gets kicked 20 mins pass everyone trys log back in. First guy in race gets 3 min headstart on rest 35 jumps away lead guy gets ctd..damn Lead guys gets back in to find himself in 5th Repeat 20 more times with various players 5 jumps from finish 4 guys left in race dear players we need to make a short unsceduled reboot at 04.35 First guy back wins.
Moral Fix the bugs get shiva out and stop trying to take our minds off all the other stuff by stagging another championship like last years Amarr one so you can give yourselfs breathing room.

Just because the Jove consider them a soverign state doesn't make it so. The bloody Jove don't count for squat in my books. :p
Out of curiosity, the standings that are needed to pass into the final 100... do these take into account standings with the corporation police force? If someone works for Lai Dai protection service, would they have less of a chance than someone who works directly for Lai Dai? If so, would that not discriminate against combat pilots who want to help their favourite Caldari corp? (I say this as an outsider, so I'm not 100% sure how these work)

In case you did not know this, the Dev's do not organise these events. They mearly give trained volunteers the tools to make them happen for the community.
Will the server need to make a short unsceduled reboot? ... maybe. Will people CTD? ... maybe. Everyone here is playing the same game... all is fair 'game'.
You may eat my space dust at the finish line.

Edited by: Ivresse on 22/07/2004 07:42:11 Anyways, back to my original question, will we get a background for the corporations we're representing as to what they plan to gain from this race as well as what they will achieve if they win? It would be helpful to us non-Caldari who want to participate if there is, as it would help us decide which corp we should represent...
Oh yes, and one more thing, will standings take diplomacy skill into account? I have a 0.33 rating with the Caldari, but only because I have Diplomacy at lvl 3... ---------------------
