This thread is full of fail.
Because you cannot fit a Hype exactly like an abbadon it sucks? THEY ARE 2 DIFFERENT SHIPS, FIT THEM DIFFERENTLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A Hype with dual rep can beat an abbadon, that abbadon will be using cpa boosters like no tomorrow.
If you want to go gank v gank use a mega, it is fitted more for that role. |

So only because EFT is showing that Amarr have some higher numbers in something over Gallente, and that makes Gallente obsolete over Amarr because Amarr have some higher numbers?.
LOL, seriously dude, don't be an idiot.
And i can for sure beat that Abaddon in my Tempest any day . It doesn't help to have huge EFT numbers when your dumb as a monkey in PVP. Because a dumb PVPer loses to everything.
OMGOMG, the Abaddon have much better stats than my Tempest, it must win over my Tempest then, yeah. It's all true.
And while i think about it. I know alot of players is like, omg why doesn't the Tempest or Megathron have the the same DPS on 25+ km range on the guns as the geddon gets etc and that.
Would there be any point to have different Battleships in EVE if all battleships have had all the same stats on all battleships?.
Came back from your holyday in troll-country?
Yeah i did come back from my vacation.
But it doesn't mean i'm trolling for telling the truth. |

Comparing unrealistic in EFT means N O T H I N G.
A ship with an extra low and more PG can tank and gank better? No ****? You are a genius, thanks for the info dude. Hey, do you know that ships with more mid slots and cpu are better shield tankers? Let's compare a shield tanked drake to a shield tanked hurricane using no low slots. Come on, use all skills @ V char because that mimics what happens on tranquility perfectly.
I also like how you throw on a faction item on one ship and then whine that the other ship doesn't fit well. Hey guys, I'll fit no speed mod and a scrambler. I'll be able to catch anything with that setup!
I see we have a good collection of EFT warriors in this thread, I suggest CCP nuke this thread from orbit, that way we wouldn't have to read this **** anymore. |

I have yet to see a Hyperion fitting that could defeat the good Abaddon's I've encountered. The Abaddon is one of the most dangerous BS to take on unless you can stop it from dishing out its DPS somehow. That beast has a LOT of armor for ships to eat through (because of the resists)...
Chances are you will lose at least one or two ships if you engage an abaddon without TD's or ECM, or without overwhelming damage. The 1v1, 2v1, 3v1, and sometimes 4v1 fights can still result in a loss unless you have the TD's, ECM, or overwhelming DPS.
Sentries against you don't help either =) |

Why not try an active tank instead of plates?
I feel its a ship not to call primary, but on its own its pretty vunerable to anyone that can active tank. |

This.
Yes, Abaddon's are terrific. I fly one. It rules at mid-range combat it really does. Massive firepower, incredibly tough, ability to mount two ECCM's (gang fit ofc, solo battleship work is, risky, shall we say) and good range, with decent tracking AT THAT RANGE.
However, you put a Megathron in orbit 500m from me and I'm in all kinds of trouble. His blasters will have no problems tracking ME thanks to better native tracking and the tracking bonus from the ship (why people moan about blaster ship bonuses I have no idea, tracking bonus and falloff bonus (Deimos/Astarte) are GREAT for blasters but that's another discussion) whereas I'm going to have real trouble tracking him.
I almost came unstuck last time I fought a Mega for exactly this reason. Luckily I was able to tank him until we decided it might be a good idea to primary and kill him. If he'd had t2 guns instead of best named and better skills it would have been a LOT more painful. |

Hmm...
I have max skills for blaster ships, I have Amarr BS5 and large pulse spec 4, with all other skills maxed for Amarr BS. I have two separate HG slave clones- one for blaster ships, the other for lasers. Maxed damage and ROF implants for both clones.
I know how to fit a Mega and a Hype. Very well. The Abaddon is superior to either of them. By a very large margin.
Anyone who thinks that a blaster BS can 'orbit' an Abaddon, or any other laser BS for that matter, and think it will help them in a fight, doesn't know WTF they're talking about.
While the OP's fits and general concepts are a bit off the mark, the Abaddon can output the same or MORE DPS than either the Hype or Megathron, at much greater range, and with the same or MORE tank, given similar DPS numbers.
I know this from first hand experience because I'm maxed with both Gallente and Amarr BS, and I've put in the ISK to make sure that I'm flying both at the absolute maximum of their capacity. The Abaddon has no competition. That being said, I hate flying laser ships. They're boring as all hell. |

more tank and more range, but its not getting the 1200-1300 like mega/hype. by that im not saying that abaddon sux or anything. actually the abaddon win over a megathron 1v1 fairly easy (stupid high ehp) |

cant dualrep hype with aux pumps/nanobot (?) and combat booster actually tank abaddon till it runs out of cap? IIRC they tanked around 1500dps when using combat boosters.

abaddons are passive plate with best dmg that you want to sacrifice tank for.
hypers are active tank with as best dmg that you want to sacrifice tank for.
with an extra low and a res bonus the abaddon comes out ontop for anything other than a 2v fight. But generally the hypers dont plate and fit mwd and are quick to bump and get in range while shredding, and the abaddon more of a fat slug with armor like diamond and enough dps to hold its own.
both have their uses. |

Yeah i agree on that.
Well, i just checked my EFT with the setup i have on my Tempest, and my Tempest beat both the Abaddon and the Hyperion in EHP LOL .
My Tempest have 91.3k EHP .
This is my tempest setup:
High-Slot:
6 x Dual 650mm Repeating Artillery II, Republic Fleet EMP L 2 x Heavy Unstable Power Fluctuator I
Med-Slot:
1 x 100MN MicroWarpdrive II 1 x Warp Disruptor II 1 x Fleeting Propulsion Inhibitor I 1 x ECM - Multispectral Jammer II 1 x Heavy Capacitor Booster II, Cap Booster 800
Low-Slot:
1 x Large Armor Repairer II 1 x Damage Control II 2 x Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II 1 x 1600mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I 1 x Gyrostabilizer II
Rig-Slot:
3 x Trimark Armor Pump I
Drones:
3 x Ogre II or Berserker II
This is one of the most solid close range setup you can get to the Tempest today.
It have 709 DPS (787 DPS overloaded) with my skills and implants.
9/10 it will kick the **** out of my abaddon 1v1.
the other 1/10 I had ecm drones, and got lucky.
oh and my abaddon has more ehp, rep, and dps. |

This sums it up nicely.
Fitting faction mods on one fit then complaining how it beats another fit without them is bad mmkay.
A better argument wld be...
"My hyp sucks coz abba can get almost as high dps up close but can get awesome dps at ranges a hyp cant fathom. Plus the abba gets a huge buffer tank to boot etc etc" EVE history

seriously, read up on amarr ammo types before trolling. crystals do Em and thermal damage. 75m3 drone bay with a drone damage type of choice. also EM resist on armor has been lowered and is in some cases even the lowest resist
and tbfh if i had to choose between 800 dps at 15km or 1300 dps at 5 i'd choose the first.. people just seem to forget that the abaddon can shoot long before hyperions get into range
while bellum might be exaggerating a bit the abaddon has both the better guns AND the better tank bonus ------------------------------------------ Yes I know how my face looks like :D |

Getting close enough in order to ruin an Abaddon's tracking is actually kind of hard to do you know...unless your gang has the option of instantly appearing at 0 meters...
If you don't have a way of getting that close fast enough, then you're going to have a big problem while you make the very slow trek towards that orbit range (while the Abaddon is moving away from you, and while you're both webbed).
Getting to that range would be GREAT for the attacking ship. Getting to that range is also the hard part, especially with limited numbers. |
